  • Recently, high-speed internet subscribers have grown continuously, and reached up to 10 millions. But existing network management that is responsible only for user access is confronted with many difficulties, since user access network(xDSL, Cable, B-WILL, and so on) has diversified and value added wired/wireless contents service has developed. In this paper propose the Agent based Inter Networking platform as object-oriented hierarchical system that can provide various service such as access QoS(Quality of Service), customized application service and security service according to user on demand. This system has divided into two parts(user agent and agent management system & local and central management systems). Management system periodically receive status information such as bandwidth, download speed, delay, current service, and so on, and process them, then build a policy based on processed information. According to personal user profile that is generated by this policy, the customized service can be provided for users. And This system adopt the object-oriented modeling in case that system migration and integration, and implement a system that is robust and stable for security through hierarchical server system.

  • In mobile agent environments, cascaded delegations among places occur frequently due to the mobility of agents. Cascaded delegation in mobile agent environments can be defined as the process whereby the delegated place delegates the rights of the delegating place further. The representative study for delegation in mobile agent environments is Berkovits et al.'s study. Their study only defines the messages that is sent between the place executing the agent and the place where the agent migrates. Because their study considers only the delegation between two places which participate in migration of an agent, it is inadequate in the situation that the cascaded delegation is necessary. In other words, the relationships among the messages sent from and to places is necessary. However, their study does not exist the relationships. In this paper, we propose a delegation scheme that provides agents with secure cascaded delegation. The proposed scheme achieves the goal by nesting each delegation token within the signed part of the next immediate delegation token. We prove that the proposed scheme is secure against the attack of replaying a message and of substituting a delegation token.

  • Periodontitis is characterized by gingival inflammation and results in periodontal pocket formation with loss of the supporting alveolar bone and connective tissue around the teeth. Therapeutic modalities should therefore aim not only at eliminating the gingival inflammatory process and preventing the progression of periodontal disease but also at reestablishing and regenerating the periodontal tissue previously lost to the disease. To achieve periodontal regeneration, progenitor cells must migrate to the denuded root surface, attach to it, proliferate and mature into an organized and functional fibrous attachment apparatus. Likewise, progenitor bone cells must also migrate, proliferate, and mature in conjunction with the regenerating periodontal ligament. Significant advances have been made during the last decade in understanding the factors controlling the migration, attachment and proliferation of cells. A group of naturally occuring molecules known as polypeptide growth factors in conjunction with certain matrix proteins are key regulators of these biological events. Of these, the fibroblast growth factor(FGF), platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF) , insulin like growth factor(CIGFs), transforming growth factor(TGFs), epidermal growth factor(EGF) and bone morphogenetic growth factor(BMPs) apper to have an important role in periodontal wound healing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of BMP on periodontal ligament cells. Human periodontal ligament cells were cultured from extracted tooth for non-periodontal reason. Cultured periodontal ligament cells were treated with BMP. Cellular activities were determined by MTT(3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay and ALP(alkaline phosphatase) activity. The results were as follows ; Regardless of cultured time, cellular activities were stimulated by BMP. Also, BMP greatly increased alkaline phosphatase(ALP) in periodontal ligament cells. These results suggest that BMP not only have no cytotoxic effect on periodontal ligament cells, but also have osteogenic stimulatory effect on periodontal ligament cells.

  • Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) remains limited by restenosis that occurs in 30 to 50% of patients with coronary artery disease. During the last decade, numerous agents have been used to prevent restenosis. Despite positive results in animal models, no pharmacological therapy has been found to significantly decrease the risk of restenosis in humans. These discrepancies between animal models and clinical situation were probably related to an incomplete understanding of the mechanism of restenosis. Neointimal thickening occurs in response to experimental arterial injury with a balloon catheter. Neointimal formation involves different steps: smooth muscle cell activation, proliferation and migration, and the production of extracellular matrix. The factors that control neointimal hyperplasia include growth factors, humoral factors and mechanical factors. Arterial remodeling also plays a major role in the restenosis process. Studies performed in animal and human subjects have established the potentials for "constrictive remodeling" to reduce the post-angioplasty vessel area, thereby indirectly narrowing the vessel lumen and thus contributing to restenosis. The reduction of restenosis rate in patients with intracoronary stent implantation has been attributed to the preventive effect of stent itself for this negative remodeling. In addition to these mochanisms for restenosis, intraluminal or intra-plaque thrombus formation, reendothelialization and apoptosis theories have been introduced and confirmed at least in part.

  • Growing demand for sustainable production, increasing competition and consideration of health concerns have led the meat industries on a path to innovation. Meat industries across the world are focusing on the development of novel meat products and processes to meet consumer demand. Hence, a process innovation, like nanotechnology, can have a significant impact on the meat processing industry through the development of not only novel functional meat products, but also novel packaging for the products. The potential benefits of utilizing nanomaterials in food are improved bioavailability, antimicrobial effects, enhanced sensory acceptance and targeted delivery of bioactive compounds. However, challenges exist in the application of nanomaterials due to knowledge gaps in the production of ingredients such as nanopowders, stability of delivery systems in meat products and health risks caused by the same properties which also offer the benefits. For the success of nanotechnology in meat products, challenges in public acceptance, economics and the regulation of food processed with nanomaterials which may have the potential to persist, accumulate and lead to toxicity need to be addressed. So far, the most promising area for nanotechnology application seems to be in meat packaging, but the long term effects on human health and environment due to migration of the nanomaterials from the packaging needs to be studied further. The future of nanotechnology in meat products depends on the roles played by governments, regulatory agencies and manufacturers in addressing the challenges related to the application of nanomaterials in food.

  • This study was carried out to investigate dyeing characteristics of CDP(cation dyeable polyester)/silk knitted fabrics with disperse type cation dyes/acid dyes by one bath dyeing method in comparison with two bath dyeing method in the interests for rationalization of the dyeing process. The apparent color depth(K/S) of the disperse type cation dyes with CDP and that of acid dyes with silk decreased slowly with increasing pH values of dyebath with the exception of sharp decrease at alkali region for CDP. The contamination behavior of CDP by the acid dyes and that of silk by the disperse type cation dyes decreased with progressing of dyeing. The migration ratio(%) of the disperse type cation dyes with CDP is low compared with that of acid dyes with silk. The sediment in mixed dying solution of disperse type cation dyes and acid dyes remarkably less compared with that of regular type cation dyes and acid dyes at $100^{\circ}C$ regardless applying of preventer agent of precipitation. When CDP/silk knitted fabrics was dyed with by with mixtures of disperse type cation dyes/acid dyes one bath or two bath dyeing method, the characteristic of reflectance spectra of CDP components were greatly influenced by disperse type cation dyes and that of silk components by acid dyes. It was confirmed that K/S values of each components of CDP/silk knitted fabrics dyed by one bath dyeing method decreased slightly compared with two bath dyeing method.

  • Tumor angiogenesis is a process leading to formation of blood vessels within tumors and is crucial for maintaining a supply of oxygen and nutrients to support tumor growth and metastasis. Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) plays a key role in tumor angiogenesis including induction of endothelial cell proliferation, migration, survival and capillary tube formation. VEGF binds to two distinct receptors on endothelial cells. VEGFR-2 is considered to be the dominant signaling receptor for endothelial cell permeability, proliferation, and differentiation. Bevacizumab(Avastin, Genetech, USA) is a monoclonal antibody against vascular endothelial growth factor. It is used in the treatment of cancer, where it inhibits tumor growth by blocking the formation of new blood vessels. The goal of this study is to identify the anti-tumor effect of Bevacizumab(Avastin) for oral squamous cell carcinoma cell lines. Human squamous cell carcinoma cell line(HN4) was used in this study. We examined the sensitivity of HN4 cell line to Bevacizumab(Avastin) by using in vitro proliferation assays. The results were as follows. 1. In the result of MTT assay according to concentration of Bevacizumab(Avastin), antiproliferative effect for oral squamous cell carcinoma cell lines was observed. 2. The growth curve of cell line showed the gradual growth inhibition of oral squamous cell carcinoma cell lines after exposure of Bevacizumab(Avastin). 3. In the apoptotic index, groups inoculated Bevacizumab(Avastin) were higher than control groups. 4. In condition of serum starvation, VEGFR-2 did not show any detectable autophosphorylation, whereas the addition of VEGF activated the receptor. Suppression of phosphorylated VEGFR-2 and phosphorylated MAPK was observed following treatment with Bevacizumab(Avastin) in a dose-dependent manner. 5. In TEM view, dispersed nuclear membrane, scattered many cytoplasmic vacuoles and localized chromosomal margination after Bevacizumab(Avastin) treatment were observed. These findings suggest that Bevacizumab(Avastin) has the potential to inhibit MAPK pathway in proliferation of oral squamous cell carcinoma cell lines via inhibition of VEGF-dependent tumor growth.

  • The bone morphogenic protein(BMP) can promote migration and growth of mesenchymal cells and initiate process for bone and cartilage formation. Cartilage-derived morphogenic protein(CDMP)-1 and -2 belong to the bone morphogenetic protein family in the transforming growth factor(TGF)-${\beta}$ superfamily. Although pleomorphic adenoma of the salivary glands is an epithelial tumor, it frequently shows ectopic cartilaginous formation with biomolecular studies. The mechanism of pathogenesis in cartilaginous formation is still controversy. We examined the expression and localization of CDMP-1 and -2, in comparison with the localization of cartilaginous matrix proteins, in human normal salivary glands and 20 cases of pleomorphic adenoma using immunohistochemical methods. The results were followed. 1. CMP-1 was immunolocalized in the striated ducts and the intercalated ducts, but not expressed in excretory duct, CDMP-2 was not expressed in the normal salivary glands. 2. CMP-1 was immunolocalized in the ductal cell and cuboidal neoplastic myoepithelial cells around the chondroid areas of the pleomorphic adenomas, whereas these molecules were not localized in the spindle-shaped neoplastic myoepithelial cells of the myxoid element in these tumors. CDMP-2 was expressed neither in normal salivary glands nor in any elements of the pleomorphic adenomas. 3. In transmission electron microscopic view, the tumor cells are composed of modifed myoepithelial cells between hyaline and myxoid stroma. 4. In Immuno-blot analysis, strong overexpression of CDMP-1 was frequently seen in pleomorphic adenomas, but the level of CDMP-2 was expressed minimally in pleomorphic adenoma. From the these results, it should be suggested that undifferentiated neoplastic myoepithelial cells around the chondroid areas expressed CDMP-1 and suggested that this molecule may play a role in the differentiation of neoplastic myoepithelial cells in pleomorphic adenoma, but not CDMP-2.

  • In a dynamic load distribution policies, each node gathers the current system sates information before making a decision on load balancing. Load balancing policies based on this strategy can suffer from processor thrashing. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm which attempts to decrease the frequency of the processor thrashing, the algorithm is based on the integration of three components. The first, the algorithm of which determine the size of jobs be transferred. The second, negotiation protocol with obtains a mutual agreement between a sender and a receiver on the transferring job size. And the third, a symmetrically-initiated location policy. The algorithm proposed in this paper used Siman IV as simulation tool to prove the improvement of performance. I analyzed the result of simulation, and compared with related works. The mean response time shows that there are no difference with existing policy, but appear a outstanding improvement in high load. The thrashing coefficient that shows the average response time, CPU overhead and the thrashing ratio at both the receiving and sending node has been used in the analysis. A significant improvement in the average response time and the CPU overhead ratio was detected using our algorithm when an overhead occurred in the system over other algorithm. The thrashing coefficient differed in the sending node and the receiving node of the system. Using our algorithm, the thrashing coefficient at the sending node showed more improvement when there was an overhead in the system, proving to be more useful. Therefore, it can be concluded that the thrashing ratio can be reduce by properly setting the maximum and minimum value of the system’s threshold queue.

  • Server virtualization provides abstraction of physical resources to users and thus accomplishes high resource utilization and flexibility. However, the characteristics of server virtualization, such as the limited number of physical resources shared by virtual machines, can cause problems, mainly performance interference. The performance interference is caused by the fact that the CPU scheduler running on the host operating system schedules virtual machines without considering the characteristics of the virtual machine's internal process. To address performance interference, a number of research activities to improve performance interference have been conducted, but do not deal with the fundamental analysis of performance interference. In this paper, in order to analyze the cause of performance interference, we carry out profiling in a variety of scenarios in a virtualized environment based on KVM. As a result, we analyze the phenomenon of the performance interference in terms of CPU scheduling and propose an efficient scheduling solution.
