  • The influence of oxygen plasma and octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) treatment of $SiO_2$ on the patterning of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)/poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) is presented. A significant difference in surface energies between plasma treated and OTS treated $SiO_2$ was noted. Such heterogeneous surface energy guides PEDOT:PSS to wet and spread on the wettable region and to dewet and retract from other regions.

  • The positive slope of the current-voltage characteristic at pressure up to 850 torr was obtained using the closed microhollow cathode without the individual and/or distributed ballast. This indicates that the stable parallel operation of the discharge was also achieved using the closed microhollow cathode. The parallel operation makes it possible to manufacture de plasma displays with high pressure, small discharge current, and long lifetime.

  • Biomimetic apatite deposition behaviors and mechanical performance for as-rolled and annealed Ni-Ti plates were investigated . A good biomimetic apatite formation and excellent mechanical performance of Ni-Ti suggests that Ni-Ti can be an excellent candidate material as orthopedic implants.
