The quasi-likelihood models which greatly widened the scope of generalized linear models are widely used in data analysis where a likelihood is not available. Since a quasi-likelihood may not appear to be an ordinary likelihood for any known distribution in the natural exponential family, to fit the quasi-likelihood models the standard statistical packages such as GLIM, GENSTAT, S-PLUS and so on may not directly applied. SAS/IML is very useful for fitting of such models. In this paper, we present simple SAS/IML(version 6.11) program which helps to fit and analyze the quasi-likelihood models applied to the leaf-blotch data introduced by Wedderburn(1974), and the problem with deviance useful generally to model checking is pointed out, and then its solution method is mention through the data analysis based on this quasi-likelihood models checking.

In this paper, we identify the essential ideas of Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic(FTA). Then, we compare these ideas with several theorems of Euclid's Elements to investigate whether the essential ideas of FTA are contained in Elements or not. From this, we have the following conclusion: Even though Elements doesn't contain FTA explicitly, it contains all of the essential ideas of FTA. Finally, we assert two reasons why Greeks couldn't mention FTA explicitly. First, they oriented geometrically, and so they understood the concept of 'divide' as 'metric'. So they might have difficulty to find the divisor of the given number and the divisor of the divisor continuously. Second, they have limit to use notation in Mathematics. So they couldn't represent the given composite number as multiplication of all of its prime divisors.

Middle school mathematics treats axiom as mere fact verified by experiment or observation and doesn't mention it axiom. But axiom is very important to understand the difference between empirical verification and mathematical proof, intuitive geometry and deductive geometry, proof and nonproof. This study analysed textbooks and surveyed gifted students' conception of axiom. The results showed the problem and limitation of middle school mathematics on the treatment of axiom and proof.

The issue of adjuncts has long been a neglected field of linguistic study whether it be syntactic or semantic. It is only in Pustejovsky (1995) that we find a brief mention of adjuncts. In addition to what the author calls true arguments, default arguments, and shadow arguments, he sets up a class of true adjuncts citing the following sentence, Mary drove down to new York on Tuesday. We will take up a small lexical item sugiru in Japanese, and we will argue that we should posit the notion of implicit adjuncts in describing the properties with the small Japanese lexical item sugiru. Throughout the discussions that follow we will demonstrate how the notion is independently motivated irrespective of what linguistic theory we are going to adopt.

Formation of nutrient qi is one of the most important functions in the human body. In medical classic such as "Hwangdineijing", it is described through several chapters. However, it is just focused on the first formation of the nutrient qi from water and food by digestion. I will mention how to get nutrient qi in human body and how to circulate and act in physiological phenomena through "Hwangdineijing". Human body should get nutrient qi from essense not only from water and food. Human body, because it is a live, must have had a nutrient material before he or she gets water and food by formation of nutrient qi. So he or she can have physiological functions.

The characteristics of $I_{\lambda}$-optimality, one of the linear criteria suggested by Fedorov (1972) are investigated with respect to the D-and heteroscedastic G-optimality in case of non-constant variance function. Though having limited results obtained from simple models, we may conclude that $I_{\lambda}$-optimality is sometimes preferred to the heteroscedastic G-optimality suggested newly bv Wong and Cook (1992) in the sense that the experimenter's belief in weighting function exists in $I_{\lambda}$-optimality criterion, not to mention its computational simplicity.

After Byeongdeok Lee(2008) argued against the so-called uncontested principle (UP), Song(2008) and Choi(2011) gave arguments against Lee(2008) and instead for UP. One important point to mention in their arguments is that they all accept that UP is justifiable in deduction. First, I show that there are some problems in their arguments. Next, I show that UP itself is not justifiable in deduction; it is only justifiable under some (restrictive) conditions.

The procedures of Continuous Descent Approach(CDA) is designed to minimize the thrust required during landing, thereby reducing fuel consumption, noise and emissions compared to conventional approach procedures. Widespread implementation of CDA would result in significant reductions in the environmental impact and aircraft operation costs. This paper estimated the possible economic effects from the perspective of airliners through cost-benefit analysis, provided that the CDA is introduced. It is now proposed that a more comprehensive analysis model, which includes the reduced ATC communication burden between controllers and pilots, not to mention the economic aspect, should be established for the improvement.
