중쇄중성지방(MCT)의 식이성 발열효과, 영양소 산화율 및 포만도 (Thermic Effect of Food, Macronutrient Oxidation Rate and Satiety of Medium-chain Triglyceride)

  • Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the thermic effects, the macronutrient oxidation rates and the satiety of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT). Methods: The thermic effects of two meals containing MCT or long-chain triglycerides (LCT) were compared in ten healthy men (mean age $24.4{\pm}2.9years$). Energy content of the meal was 30% of resting metabolic rate of each subject. Metabolic rate and macronutrient oxidation rate were measured before the meals and for 6 hours after the meals by indirect calorimetry. Satiety was estimated by using visual analogue scales (VAS) at 8 times (before the meal and for 6 hours after meal). Results: Total thermic effect of MCT meal (42.8 kcal, 8.0% of energy intake) was significantly higher than that (26.8 kcal, 5.1% of energy intake) of the LCT meal. Mean postprandial oxygen consumption was also significantly different between the two types of meals (MCT meal: $0.29{\pm}0.35L/min$, LCT meal: $0.28{\pm}0.27L/min$). There were no significant differences in total postprandial carbohydrate and fat oxidation rates between the two meals. However, from 30 to 120 minutes after consumption of meals, the fat oxidation rate of MCT meal was significantly higher than that of the LCT meal. Comparison of satiety values (hunger, fullness and appetite) between the two meals showed that MCT meal maintained satiety for a longer time than the LCT meal. Conclusions: This study showed the possibility that long-term substitution of MCT for LCT would produce weight loss if energy intake remained constant.

  • 최근 유통채널은 양적인 증가에서 질적 개선으로 산업 패러다임이 전환되고 있다. 더불어 고객의 새로운 성향과 소비트랜드를 반영하고 서비스의 핵심가치를 옴니채널 O2O(Online to Offline)비즈니스 모델 중심으로 발전하고 있다. 이에 기업들은 다양한 유통채널을 통합하고 고도의 콘텐츠 비지니스 서비스를 고객에게 제공하기 위해 새로운 사업전략 모색에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 현재 고객에게 제공되는 서비스들의 대부분은 대기업, 금융권 중심의 유통구조를 기반으로 형성되어있어 중소 소상공인이 당면한 문제점인 채널확산 및 개선, 신규 유통채널을 발굴, O2O마케팅전략 모색이 매우 중요한 과제라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스마트컨슈머의 니즈를 반영한 누구나 스마트커머스 시장에 진입할 수 있는 유통채널을 개선하고 이를 통해 중소 소상공인을 위한 비지니스플랫폼을 통하여 전략적이고 나아가 지속가능한 상생형 시장을 형성하여 '창조경제' 성장의 원동력이 될 수 있는 부가가치를 창출하는데 의의를 두고자 한다.

에너지 수확 무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율 및 우선순위 기반의 MAC 프로토콜 (EEPB-MAC: Energy Efficient & Priority-Based MAC Protocol for Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 무선 센서 네트워크에서 다중접근제어(Medium Access Control: MAC) 프로토콜은 센서 노드들이 필요할 때만 on 상태에 머물게 함으로 에너지를 효율적으로 사용하도록 하게한다. 본 논문에서는 에너지 수확 무선 센서 네트워크에서 우선순위에 기반을 둔 에너지 효율적인 MAC 프로토콜(EEPB-MAC)을 제안한다. 제안된 EEPB-MAC은 기존의 IEEE 802.15.4의 비콘 프레임에 우선순위 비트, 전송 노드 주소, NAV 값을 가지는 필드를 추가하여 이를 통하여 우선순위 데이터 전송을 지원한다. 데이터 전송을 원하는 전송자로부터 비콘 프레임을 수신한 수신 노드는 수신된 비콘 프레임의 우선순위 비트에 기반으로 데이터를 전송할 전송자를 선택한다. 데이터의 특성에 따라 우선순위 전송을 지원할 뿐 만 아니라, 수신 노드의 잔여 에너지 레벨에 따라 전송 주기를 조절하는 등 데이터 전송에 참여하는 노드에서의 에너지 소모를 줄인다. EEPB-MAC 프로토콜은 기존에 제안된 다른 프로토콜에 비해 우선순위가 높은 데이터에 대한 전송지연을 줄이며, 각 노드에서의 에너지 소모를 개선시켰다.

Sustainable Business Strategies for Local Fashion Communities (small and medium scale enterprises) in Ethiopia and Ukraine

  • The aim of the research study is to carve sustainable business strategies for the fashion communities in Ethiopia and Ukraine which are suffering today due to ever-increasing share of fast fashion consumerism. Fashion houses and international brands propagandize sustainability and consumption for better consumer base, where as originally sustainable local-based craftsmen still stay in the shade. Four communities/local designers are selected from the countries through the method of purposive sampling. Qualitative analysis is the basis of the research as we performed personal interviews and in-depth analysis of the communities to diagnose the problems and subsequently devise the solutions. In this research, we have studied and analyzed the problems faced by hereditary communities and ethnic designers in small and medium scale enterprise sector from two emerging economies. After the grounding the difficulties faced we advised strategies for sustainable future growth to the companies. The current academic literature on small and medium scale enterprises highlights the problems and solutions for general industry sectors. This paper brings attention to fashion communities and designers who promote national heritage and are struggling to survive in emerging economies due to industrialization and globalization. Moreover the comparison of the two geographies is unique in nature.

  • In recent years, building energy has received much attention and there are many support system to reduce building energy consumption. In addition, It is clear that encouraging to energy efficiency investments can be beneficial to our society, because of the energy supply instability and higher energy price in Korea. Nevertheless, ESCO business, represent the existing building energy retrofit business, hardly has not expanded in Korea. besides, in the case of existing building, it is more difficult to achieve the energy retrofit measures than new building, due to the existing buildings have attributes such as a long life and a lots of energy factor, etc. Therefore, for activate ESCO business and expand ESCO bussiness target to small-to-medium building, it is needed to optimization of retrofitting methods for existing small-to medium buildings in Korea. this research was to derive energy retrofit methods through the energy audit and analysis performed for a small-to-medium building located in Suwon, Korea.

Clinical Characteristics of Patients with Oral Candidiasis

  • Purpose: Oral candidiasis is the most common fungal infection in the oral cavity which is usually diagnosed from clinical findings. A retrospective study was conducted to identify risk factors for oral candidiasis and to characterize the demographic and clinical features of affected patients. Methods: From January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, it consisted of 90 oral candidiasis patients diagnosed based on clinical finding and treated with antifungal drugs. As a retrospective study of those people, surveys were conducted on sex, age, systemic disease, a use of dentures, complaints of dry mouth, smoking and alcohol consumption, culture on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium, culture on chromogenic agar (CA) medium and a duration of antifungal treatment. Results: Among 90 selected patients, the male and female ratio was 41:49. Overall, female had a higher infection rate than male in all age groups. In this study, oral candidiasis was not clearly susceptible to dry mouth, smoking or drinking, wearing dentures and association with systemic disease. Among 90 patients with oral candidiasis, 83 had colonies formed on PDA medium and 53 had colonies formed on CA medium. The duration of antifungal treatment was highest between 5 and 8 weeks. In addition, there was statistical significance between the culture results in CA medium and the duration of antifungal treatment. Conclusions: Generally, old age or infants, dry mouth, smoking, a use of dentures and endocrine abnormalities are risk factors to increase oral candidiasis; however, in this study, it was mainly found in the elderly aged 60 or older regardless of sex and the incidence of oral candidiasis was not obviously related with patients with dry mouth, smoking or drinking, denture wearers and endocrine abnormalities. Interestingly, when the fungi were cultured in CA medium, the duration of antifungal treatment was increased.

  • HRccine was administered subcutaneously for 4 weeks to rabbits at dose levels of 300, 60 and 12 times the expected clinical dose to evaluate the subacute toxicity. There were no effects in clinical signs, body weight changes, food consumption, water consumption, urinalysis and blood biochemistry in any animals tested. In hematological examinations, decrease of lymphocyte counts and increase of platelet counts were observed in the medium- and high-dose treated groups. Absolute weights of thymus were tending to decrease, but no pathological changes were observed in microscopic examinations. The no-effect dose in subacute toxicity study of rabbits was considered to be 300 times the expected clinical dose.

CJ-50002(비브리오백신)의 랫드에 대한 4주간 경구 반복투여 독성연구 (Four-Week Oral Toxicity Study of CJ-50002 (Vibrio Vaccine) in Rats)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the subacute toxicity of CJ-50002 (Vibrio Vaccine) in SPF Spraqur-Dawley (SD) rats. Vibrio vaccine was administered orally at a dose level of high (167mg/kg/day), medium (16.7mg/kg/day), and low (16.7mg/kg/day) once a day and repeated fro 4 weeks. Ten males and female rats were assigned to each group. After 4 week administration, no significant dose-dependent changes in body weight, water and food consumption rate or organ weight were noted dependent changes in body weight, water and food consumption rate or organ weight were noted among 4 groups. Urinanalysis, hematology, and serum chemistry, also fail to detect any dose-related change among 4 groups tested. During necropsy and histopathological examination, no specific toxicity related to treated material was found. The result of this study demonstrated that vibrio vaccine when administered orally for 4 weeks at a high dose of 167mg/kg/day, no dose-related toxicity was found in treated make and female rats.

대학생들의 신용카드 인식 및 사용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Credit Card Cognition and Use of College Students)

  • This study has been peformed on the consumption tendency, and knowledge and cognition of credit cards among college students. A total of 327 subjects from the college students was surveyed in Pusan area. The major findings of this study were summerized as follows; First, the rate of credit card possession of the students was 19.6%. The card possession showed significantly different in age, personal expense, income. Second, the level of knowledge of the credit card was low(23.1 points). Also, the level of knowledge was significantly different in sex, age, major, personal expense, income and credit card ownership. Third, the cognition of credit cards was medium(51.3 points). The cognition of the credit cards was significantly different only in the card possession. Fourth, the behavior of credit card was not significantly different in the group. Fifth, there were significant relationships between the knowlege and cognition. This result implied that the group with higer levels of knowlege tended to show more favor of credit cards. For the rational consumption of the college students, the students need to be educated about advantage and disadvantages of the credit cards.

SOI와 트랜치 구조를 이용한 초저소비전력형 미세발열체의 제작과 그 특성 (The Fabrication of Micro-heaters with Low Consumption Power Using SOI and Trench Structures and Its Characteristics)

  • This paper presents the optimized design, fabrication and thermal characteristics of micro-heaters for thermal MEMS (micro elelctro mechanical system) applications usign SOI (Si-on-insulator) and trench structures. The micro-heater is based on a thermal measurement principle and contains for thermal isolation regions a 10㎛ thick Si membrane with oxide-filled trenches in the SOI membrane rim. The micro-heater was fabricated with Pt-RTD (resistance thermometer device) on the same substrate by suing MgO as medium layer. The thermal characteristics of the micro-heater wit the SOI membrane is 280$\^{C}$ at input power 0.9W; for the SOI membrane with 10 trenches, it is 580$\^{C}$ due to reduction of the external thermal loss. Therefore, the micro-heater with trenches in SOI membrane rim provides a powerful and versatile alternative technology for improving the performance of micro-thermal sensors and actuators.
