  • GIS equipment has problems on confidence according to long-time usage, development of diagnosis technique has been importantly recognized accordingly. Therefore. measurement and analysis of PD has been generally used much equipment of GIS. But, in case of measurement of PD at field, real trouble signals are difficult to classify noise. Accordingly, a variety of trouble conditions for DS were simulated, and detected signals were analyzed by the application of electrical and mechanical methods. For this analysis, detected signals were accumulated according to phase-magnitude with the application of Induction sensor, and then we analyzed the characteristics. For the simulation experiment, we made DS for 170kV GIS and analyzed the characteristics of detected signals with the application of neural network algorithm.

  • We report the characteristics and differences of two types of attenuation measurement methods for electromagnetic partial discharge signal in GIS. The pulse method is to measure the attenuated waveforms in time domain and coverts them into frequency domain to get the attenuation spectra of given GIS section. This method simulates the real partial discharge signal. The frequency swept continuous wave method can obtain attenuation spectra directly so that it gives attenuation with low noise floor and simplicity. We show that both methods are effective and exchangeable because the attenuation results measured by two methods have similar trends

  • An attitude GPS receiver with 3 antennas obtains 3-dimensional attitude using GPS carrier phase measurement INS obtains the 3 dimensional navigation solution for IMU consisting of accelerometers and gyro. Ground-alignment process for the low -cost INS cannot be performed well due to the large sensor noise. Using the standard GPS receiver, however, continuous in-flight alignment for the INS becomes possible, and consequently, the errors in IMU sensors and navigation solution can be compensated. Especially with attitude measurement from the attitude GPS receiver, the compensation of errors in gyroscope and attitude would be done respite of the vehicle´s dynamics and their error covariance would be reduced. • Precision displacement of less than a few nm resolution was measured in real-time using fiber optic EFPI sensor. The novel method for real-time processing of analyzing EFPI output signal was developed and verified. Linearity in the mean values of interferometric light intensity among adjacent fringes was shown, and the sinusoidal approximation algorithm that estimates past and coming fringe values was verified through the linearity. Real-time signal processing program was developed, and the intensity signal of the EFPI sensor was transformed to the phase shift with this program. The resolution below 0.4 ~ 10 nm in the displacement range of $0 ~ 300\mu\textrm{m}$ was obtained by reducing the photodetector noise using low-pass filter and signal averaging. The nano-translation stage with a Piezo-electric actuator and the EFPI sensor system was designed and tested. This stage successfully reached to the desired destination in $15\mu\textrm{m}$ range within 1 nm accuracy.

  • In order to investigate the compression wave propagating in a high-speed railway tunnel, a numerical calculation was applied to the wave phenomenon occurring in a model tunnel. Unsteady, one-dimensional inviscid or viscous flows were solved by an explicit TVD scheme, and the calculated flows were compared with the results of measurement in real tunnels. Tunnel noises caused by emission of the compression wave were characterized in terms of excess pressure of compression wave, pressure gradient in the wave front and width of the compression wave. Calculated attenuation, pressure gradient and width of compression wave with the propagating distance agreed with the results of measurement in the real tunnels. The results also show that tunnel noises are proportional to the train velocity entering the tunnel.

  • The valve is the key part which governs the efficiency, noise and reliability of the compressor, so the development of analytical model about valve performance is necessary. As the valve leed is opened and closed by pressure pulsation, the flow characteristic of the refrigerant passing the valve is very important. In the present study, a circular disk with inclination is assumed to be the valve reed of a reciprocating compressor and numerical analysis of three dimensional velocity fields are perfomed for the radial flow through the valve model. The effective flow and force area which are required to predict the efficiency of the valve are measured and compared with the numerical analysis in this research.

  • Optical Line Patternator(OLP) has been applied to get a distribution of the spray at high ambient pressure. OLP is a combined technique of extinction measurement and image processing. The attenuated intensity of laser beam after traversing spray region was measured by using a photo-detector, and the line image of Mie-scattering was captured simultaneously in the path of each laser beam by using a CCD camera. The distribution of extinction coefficient in the spray is obtained by processing these data with the algebraic reconstruction technique. From the distribution of extinction coefficient, the surface distribution of spray can be reconstructed. OLP does not use laser sheet but use laser beam so that the noise effect of multiple scattering, caused by increasing number density of droplet in high pressure environment, is reduced drastically. OLP is expected as a suitable method which can investigate the characteristics of relatively large spray under the high pressure environment such as liquid rocket engine.

  • In this study an objection, to be needed at public works, is to develop a measurement circuit of a gauage using radioisotope for compaction control. The developed gauage consists of measuring circuits for gamma-rays and thermal neutrons, a high voltage supply unit, and a microprocessor. To obtain meaningful numbers of pulse counts, parallel five and two circuits are provided for gamma-rays and thermal neutrons, respectively. Also, to minimize effects of natural environmental radiation and electrical noise, circuits are electrostatically shielded and pulses made by ripples are eliminated by taking frequency of high voltage supplied to the circuit and pulse height of ripples into consideration.

  • We consider the semiparametric linear errors-in-variables model: yi=(${\alpha}+{\beta}ui+{\varepsilon}i$, xi=ui+${\varepsilon}i$ i=1, …, n where (xi, yi) stands for an observation vector, (ui) denotes a set of incidental nuisance parameters, (${\alpha}$ , ${\beta}$) is a vector of regression parameters and (${\varepsilon}i$, ${\delta}i$) are mutually uncorrelated measurement errors with zero mean and finite variances but otherwise unknown distributions. On the basis of a simple small-sample low-noise a, pp.oximation, we propose a new method of comparing the mean squared errors(MSE) of the various competing estimators of the true regression parameters ((${\alpha}$ , ${\beta}$). Then we show that a class of estimators including the classical least squares estimator and the maximum likelihood estimator are consistent and first-order efficient within the class of all regular consistent estimators irrespective of type of measurement errors.
