  • In this paper, we consider the quartic moment problem suggested by Curto-Fialkow[6]. Given complex numbers $\gamma{\equiv}{\gamma}^{(4)}\;:\;{\gamma00},\;{\gamma01},\;{\gamma10},\;{\gamma01},\;{\gamma11},\;{\gamma20},\;{\gamma03},\;{\gamma12},\;{\gamma21},\;{\gamma30},\;{\gamma04},\;{\gamma13},\;{\gamma22},\;{\gamma31},\;{\gamma40}$, with ${\gamma00},\;>0\;and\;{\gamma}_{ji}={\gamma}_{ij}$ we discuss the conditions for the existence of a positive Borel measure ${\mu}$, supported in the complex plane C such that ${\gamma}_{ij}=\int\;\={z}^i\;z^j\;d{\mu}(0{\leq}i+j{\leq}4)$. We obtain sufficient conditions for flat extension of the quartic moment matrix M(2). Moreover, we examine the existence of flat extensions for nonsingular positive quartic moment matrices M(2).

  • In cognitive radios, spectrum sensing plays an important role in accurately detecting the presence or absence of a licensed user. However, the intervention of malicious users (MUs) degrades the performance of spectrum sensing. Such users manipulate the local results and send falsified data to the data fusion center; this process is called spectrum sensing data falsification (SSDF). Thus, MUs degrade the spectrum sensing performance and increase uncertainty issues. In this paper, we propose a method based on the Hausdorff distance and a similarity measure matrix to measure the difference between the normal user evidence and the malicious user evidence. In addition, we use the Dempster-Shafer theory to combine the sets of evidence from each normal user evidence. We compare the proposed method with the k-means and Jaccard distance methods for malicious user detection. Simulation results show that the proposed method is effective against an SSDF attack.

  • For a distribution on the unit sphere, the set of eigenvectors of the second moment matrix is a conventional measure of orientation. Asymptotic confidence cones for eigenvector under the parametric assumptions for the underlying distributions and nonparametric confidence cones for eigenvector based on bootstrapping were proposed. In this paper, to reduce the level error of confidence cones for eigenvector, double bootstrap confidence cones based on prepivoting are considered, and the consistency of this method is discussed. We compare the perfomances of double bootstrap method with the others by Monte Carlo simulations.

  • The influence of observations is investigated in fitting proportional covariance matrices model. Local influence measures are obtained when all parameters or subsets of the parameters are of interest. We will also derive the local influence measure for investigating the influence of observations in testing the proportionality of covariance matrices. A numerical example is given for illustration.

  • A criterion is developed for the, selection of the best pairing of the control and manipulated variables and for the interaction analysis of decentralized multi-input multi-output control systems. This criterion is based on the difficulty caused by the interaction terms in finding the in-verse of the block steady gain matrix. A quantitative measure of the best pairing is obtained from the resemblance of a set of independent block multi-loop systems. Several examples show the validity of the pairing criterion.

  • Given the flow matrix, plant size (rectangle shape) and department sizes, the algorithm in this paper provides the plant layout with rectilinear distance measure. To construct automated facility design, eigenvector approach is employed. A branch and bound computer code developed by Tillinghast is modified to find the feasible fits of departments without shape distortion (see [1])in the plant rectangle. The computational results compared with CRAFT are shown.

  • Basic objective in cluster analysis is to discover natural groupings of items. In general, clustering is conducted based on some similarity (or dissimilarity) matrix or the original input data. Various measures of similarities between objects are developed. In this paper, we consider a clustering of huge categorical real data set which shows the aspects of time-location-activity of Korean people. Some useful similarity measure for the data set, are developed and adopted for the categorical variables. Hierarchical and nonhierarchical clustering method are applied for the considered data set which is huge and consists of many categorical variables.

  • In this brief, the design method of robust non-fragile decentralized controllers for uncertain large-scale interconnected systems is proposed. Based on Lyapunov second method, a sufficient condition for asymtotic stability is derived in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI), and the measure of non-fragility in controller is presented. The solutions of the LMI can be easily obtained using efficient convex optimization techniques. A numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed method.

  • We have consider the study of local influence for smoothing parameter estimates in spline regression model with heteroscedasticity. Practically, generalized cross-validation does not work well in the presence of heteroscedasticity. Thus we have proposed the local influence measure for generalized cross-validation estimates when errors are heteroscedastic. And we have examined effects of diagnostic by above measures through Hyperinflation data.
