Purpose: This study aimed to understand the meaning and essence of the life experiences of uninfected women living with HIV-infected husbands. Methods: This qualitative study adopted van Manen's hermeneutic phenomenological method. Study participants were 8 females whose husband had been diagnosed with HIV for longer than 6 months, who had known about their husband's infection for more than 6 months, who were in a legal or common-law marriage and were living with their husbands at the time of interview for this study, and whose HIV antibody test results were negative. Data were collected from in-depth individual interviews with the participants from May to August 2016, and from related idiomatic expressions, literature, artwork, and phenomenological references. Results: The following essential themes were identified regarding the life experiences of uninfected women living with HIV-infected husbands: 'experiencing an abrupt change that came out of the blue and caused confusion', 'accepting one's fate and making desperate efforts to maintain one's family', 'dealing with a heavy burden alone', 'experiencing the harsh reality and fearful future', and 'finding consolation in the ordeal'. Conclusion: This study provided a holistic and in-depth understanding of the meaning and essence of the life experiences of uninfected women living with HIV-infected husbands. Thus, this study recognizes these unnoticed women as new nursing subjects. Further, the present findings can be used as important basic data for the development of nursing interventions and national policy guidelines for uninfected women living with HIV-infected husbands.

Recently people are trying to lead their life with meaning and value, and people are oriented to value consumption as the values they pursue can be realized through consumption. Consumer demand on value consumption had an effect on Korean wedding culture and 'value consumption wedding culture' which emphasizes the value of marriage, is on the rise as a new wedding custom. Accordingly, Korean wedding market is more segmented and diversified for individual customization to create value. Especially, wedding dress evidently reflects the tendency of value consumption as it gives special meaning for brides. As a result, suggestion and development of detailed design elements of wedding dress to meet the various needs of customers are needed. Therefore, this study has the purpose of investigating the required value of wedding dress aligned with the characteristics of value consumption wedding culture through in-depth interviews and how the intrinsic value of consumers is shown up to a particular design element through investigating on the relationships between design elements. In addition, the study provides a direction for specialized and high-valued wedding dress design development by suggesting wedding dress design aligned with the new trend based on the analysis of detailed design elements that reflects the value.
This paper examines how split-screen technique works to meet the goals and strategies of the narrative in the romantic comedy films which deal with love and sex. The plot of romantic comedy films aims to the union and marriage of the couple, but is structured to delay the union as much as possible through comical situations and episodes. Usually split-screen scenes are placed before plot point 2 and serve to make a laugh and humor. Besides, it helps focusing on two main characters. Comedy related to love and sex comes from information gap between two main characters which can cause a tension, double meaning of spoken words and combination of split-screen images. Michael Gordon's Pillow Talk(1959) and Peyton Reed's Down with Love(2003) are reviewed in this study.
Background: Marriage is one of the major life events and the primary source of individual happiness and meaning of life. It is not possible to predict who will marry whom and which marriage will be successful. Marital adjustment has significant influences on an individual and relationship functioning and is associated with mental health. Good marital quality may imply good general relationship. There are several factors that correlate with or predict good marital quality. Especially individual personality factors may be a major factor in achieving and maintaining marital stability, satisfaction and happiness. The aim of the present study was to investigate the possible relationship between dyadic adjustment and personality dimensions in urban married women. Methods: Dyadic Adjustment Scale, Eysenck's Personality Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory were administered to 215 married women. Data analysis was based on 170 women who provided reliable informations. The descriptive statistics of demographic data and 4 scales were obtained. Then the possible relationships between each data were tested by calculating Pearson's product moment correlations. To test the effects of depression and anxiety on dyadic adjustment, stepwise multiple regression analysis was done. Results: Age and length of marriage were negatively correlated with affectional expression and dyadic cohesion. Educational level was positively correlated with total dyadic adjustment score and dyadic satisfaction. Family income was positively correlated with total dyadic adjustment score, dyadic consensus, dyadic satisfaction and dyadic cohesion. Different family type showed different total dyadic adjustment score, dyadic satisfaction and dyadic cohesion. Psychoticism was negatively correlated with total dyadic adjustment score, dyadic consensus, dyadic satisfaction, affectional expression and dyadic cohesion. Neuroticism was negatively correlated with total dyadic adjustment score, dyadic consensus, dyadic satisfaction and affectional expression. Extraversion and lie were not correlated with any factors. Beck Depression Inventory and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory scores were negatively correlated with total dyadic adjustment score, dyadic consensus, dyadic satisfaction, affectional expression and dyadic cohesion. The result of multiple regression analysis indicated that psychoticism was correlated with dyadic adjustment. Conclusion: These results showed that the demographic factors such as age, length of marriage, educational level, family income and family type were significantly correlated with dyadic adjustment. Psychoticism and neuroticism measured by Eysenck Personality Inventory were significantly correlated with dyadic adjustment. But the correlations with extraversion and lie were not significant. Especially correlation between neuroticism and dyadic adjustment seemed to be mediated by emotional state such as depression and anxiety. These findings suggest that personality factors may be involved in marital relationship and that clinician must consider personality aspect in dealing with marital problems. Future study about differences between control group and psychiatric patient group will be needed.
Objectives: In order to investigate personality of oriental medical students by MMPI elementarily. Methods: This study was done by comparing the score of MMPI and Sasang questionnaire. The scores of MMPI and Sasang were verified by examination of T-test and Tukey's HSD Procedure. Results: 1. According to comparison between male and female, there is no meaning. But between unmarried group and married group, there is a difference of MMPI T-scores for L, K-scale significantly. 2. In the distinction of sex and marriage between A group and B group, the MMPI T-scores of male and unmarried group have more significance on the various scale. 3. According to comparative anaylsis of MMPI and Sasang questionnaire, Um group(Tae-um, So-um group) showed significant results in D(Depression), PT(Psychasthenia), SI(Social Introversion) scales of the MMPI. 4. In comparison between the temperament of Sasang and analysis of MMPI profile, Tae-um and So-um groups showed many similarities. Conclusion: According to the above results, it is considered that MMPI can be applied to classification of constitution.

The death scenes are the culmination of both Doris Lessing's "To Room Nineteen" and Toni Morrison's Sula. Lessing's Susan, an intelligent white English woman, gradually loses the meaning of life as awealthy housewife in the patriarchal society and commits suicide as her solution in Room Nineteen of Fred's Hotel. Morrison's Sula, an African-American woman, grows up without having the normal ego under Eva's matriarchy in a black community named the Bottom. Sula, after Nel's marriage, becomes a symbol of evil to her community and drifts down to death in Eva's bed. Reading these two death stories from the perspective of Jung's archetypal psychology, Susan is not able to continue to live a meaningful life because her life energy is cut off from its source which is in the unconscious. According to Jung, the symbol is the medium of the psychic energy from the unconscious to consciousness. In modern society which is represented by intelligence, the religious and mythical symbols are removed by rationalism, which means disconnection of the flow of life energy from the unconscious. Susan's death can be read as a kind of creating symbol to connect the modern people to the source of life energy. Sula's case is the opposite of Susan's. She remains in the unconscious world without having the proper ego in the absurd reality of racial and sexual problems. Sula finally rises again in Nel's awareness, becoming a symbol of the feminine goddess like goddess Inanna.
Purpose: This study examined the life experiences of the wives of men who were born with normal vision but gradually developed a visual impairment, with particular focus on their way of facing and coping with their life crisis. Method: A narrative approach was used to not only understand women's experiences within sociocultural contexts, but also reveal the subjective meaning of their personal life stories through their own voices. A purposive sample of three participants having husbands unexpectedly diagnosed with visual impairment during their marriage was recruited. The data were analyzed using the narrative analysis methods suggested by Clandinin and Connelly. Results: The wives took the crisis of their husbands' visual impairment as an economic crisis of the family. They faced a variety of difficulties, including extreme despair, role changes, and economic burdens. On the other hand, they tried to keep the family secure through a range of coping strategies that were motivated by compassion toward the husbands, maternal affection for the children, and a sense of responsibility for their families. Conclusion: This study revealed the need for financial support for temporarily disadvantaged families. In addition, various nursing and counseling programs for the family members will also be needed to help recover the family functions.

The Eastern slavic, the mongolian and the Korean bride wears various and gorgous headgears which have reflected cultural values: their traditional views of a wedding ceremony, expected change of social roles for married people. The wedding ceremony of these 3 natives had been performed by the symbolic meaning of the union of the bride to the bridegroom's family.
The purpose of this study is to find out influence the difference between expected marital life and actual martial life and communication between husband and wife have on their quality of life among couples who have less than 5 years of their married life. 276 questionnaires were used for 138 couples who have less than 5 years of marital life living in D city. Technical statistic analysis, t-test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted to analyze the data using SPSS WIN 18.0. The research results are as the followings. Verbal communication showed to have influence on husband's quality of life whereas difference between expected marital life and actual martial life as well as verbal communication have influence on wife's quality of life. Therefore, it is recommended that a program needs to be developed to promote efficient communication between husband and wife raising their quality of life and they should not expect unrealistic marital life and think about the meaning of marriage deeply before getting married.
