  • To satisfy and respond quickly to customers' demand, many companies are now aggressively focusing on supply chain management in order to strengthen their competitiveness. The modeling and analysis of supply chain environment have been widely studied. This study is concerned with the development of supply chain simulator which deals with stochastic natures existing in the supply chain environment. We proposed the mathematical model for the efficient cost analysis and developed the supply chain simulator based on the proposed mathematical model with object-oriented language C++. The simple experiment which find the best combination of policies considering the whole cost shows the possibility and reasonability of the developed simulator.

  • The safety aspects of ship handing have become increasingly important recently, due to the changes in sea transportation. These are characterizes by larger units, increased traffic density on sea lane, sea transport of dangerous cargo, etc. In addition, as a economic aspect of ship handing, it has obtained an increased attention in connection with port development and consideration of allowable ship size for existing ports. One method for evaluation of maneuvering problems is simulation on a computer by means of a mathematical model of the ship maneuvering motion. The present report describes the elements of a mathematical model for ship maneuvering and gives some results of maneuvering predictions through the simulation.

  • A nonlinear mathematical model of longitudinal combustion instability appropriate for ramjets and augmentors was developed based on modal analysis. The model was limited to a two-mode formulation. The associated differential equations were solved both analytically and numerically and used to perform parametric studies.

  • This paper presents a mathematical model which simulates the Cherepnov water lifter, that can lift water without the use of external energy such as electricity. A theoritical study was conducted to reveal the characteristics of the Cherepnov water lifter that was continuously operated with the aid of the siphon. The mathematical model wal composed of the continuity equation and energy equation, and was coded using FORTRAN language. In this study, the govering flow equation of the lifter were derived and the computer programs of the equations were worked out. The accuracy of the theoretical equations and their solutions was checked by laboratory experimentation. The mathematical model that simulate the Cherepnov water lifter is appeared to be good to predict the behavior of Cherepnov water lifter. Therefore, the mathematical model and the simulation method used in this study could be used in designing of the Cherepnov water lifter.

  • This study is a study in which four teachers from the same school who participated in a teacher learning community program at the school field developed interdisciplinary linkage and convergence data using Plato as a collaborative circle in ethics and mathematics subjects. In particular, this study aimed to develop practical and shareable lesson materials. The data development procedure was developed according to the following four procedures. 'Development of data development plan, data development, verification of development data, and development of final data that reflects the verification opinions' At this time, in the data development stage, a theme-based design model was applied and developed. In addition, the development data were verified by conducting CVR verification for field teachers to focus on the validity and class applicability, and the final data were presented after the development data being revised to reflect the verification results. This study not only introduced the developed data, but also described the procedure of the data development process and the trial and error and concerns of the developers in the process to provide information on the nature of basic research to other field researchers who attempt data development.

  • This paper suggests mathemathical engine model which can simulate generalized gasoline engine. Suggested engine model contains air/fuel inlet element, intake manifold, combustion, engine dynamics. In order to analyze a gasoline engine, physical characteristics of engine and steady state engine data should be controlled. In adaptation for abrupt change of circumstance or drive conditions, this model can analyze important physical phenomena in the intake manifold by computer simulation. This model can also evaluate statuses of drive under various working conditions precisely. Therfore, this model suggests basic datum to evaluate the engine system which are needed in designing and development of engine controller.

  • One of the essential issues in model systems is how to represent and manipulate mathematical modeling knowledge. As the bases of integrated modeling environments, current modeling frameworks have limitations: lack of facility to coordinate different users perpectives and lack of mechanism to reuse modeling knowledge. In this paper, multi-facetted modeling approach is proposed as a basis for the development of integrated modeling environment which provides facilities for (1) independent management of modeling knowledge from individual models; (2) object-oriented conceptual blackboard concept; (3) multi-facetted modeling; and (4) declarative representation of mathematical knowledge. The proposed multi-facetted approach is illustrated using multicommodity transportation models.

  • This method is a new experimental model for a mathematical education in Engineering students. We compare two different classes; one was recorded the lecture with scenario and the other was not. Also we set up the detailed structures in every lecture for mathematical modeling and solving parts. The purpose for a new model is 1) to improve the students's ability to solve the mathematical problem, 2) how to approach to getting a solution for each problem by system and 3) to provide the lectures anytime to students who want to study more mathematics.

  • The proposed mathematical model of the starter-generator system incorporates the motor speed, battery voltage and the desired current to estimate the moment generation capabilities of the starter-generator and the actual current of the battery system. The fundamentals for this mathematical modeling are the simulated results of the experimental data. These pertinent data are used in establishing the governing equations for the determination of motor moments, actual battery currents and efficiencies of the system's operation at different loading characteristics and speed regions. The derived equations will be used into simulation programs to predict the fuel efficiency, vehicle characteristics of a hybrid electric vehicle equipped with a transmission starter-generator which will be developed.
