Algorithm Development for Movable Tensegrity Structure by Iot (Iot에 기반한 동적 텐세그리티 구조를 위한 알고리즘 개발)

  • In the study, a shape finding procedure for the tensegrity system model inspired by the movement pattern of animal backbone was presented. The proposed system is allowing a dynamic movement by introducing the concept of "saddle" for the variable tensegrity structure. Mathematical process and an algorithm for movable tensegrity to specified points were established. Several examples have applied with in established shape finding analysis procedure. The final tensegrity structures were determined well to a object shape.

  • In a super-highrise residence project, a project manager needs to form the long-term risk management plan which covers the problems from the beginning of project to the time of demolition. The cause and responsibility for a risk are clarified and quantitatively evaluated through the life cycle of a project. Development of the system which supports a risk strategy effectively is needed as a project becomes complex. In this paper, through the life cycle of a specific super-highrise residence project, a risk phenomenon is specified from a viewpoint of each participant, and the mathematical model is formulated choosing the combination of the optimal strategy against a risk quantitatively within a fixed risk strategy budget.

  • This study is to investigate how much highschool students, who have learned functional concepts included in the Middle school math curriculum, understand chapters of the function, to analyze the types of errors which they made in solving the mathematical problems and to look for the proper instructional program to prevent or minimize those ones. On the basis of the result of the above examination, it suggests a classification model for teaching-learning methods and teaching material development The result of this study is as follows. First, Students didn't fully understand the fundamental concept of function and they had tendency to approach the mathematical problems relying on their memory. Second, students got accustomed to conventional math problems too much, so they couldn't distinguish new types of mathematical problems from them sometimes and did faulty reasoning in the problem solving process. Finally, it was very common for students to make errors on calculation and to make technical errors in recognizing mathematical symbols in the problem solving process. When students fully understood the mathematical concepts including a definition of function and learned procedural knowledge of them by themselves, they did not repeat the same errors. Also, explaining the functional concept with a graph related to the function did facilitate their understanding,

  • We are at the onset of a major revolution in education, a revolution unparalleled since the invention of the printing press. The computer will be the instrument of this revolution. Computers and computer application are everywhere these days. Everyone can't avoid the influence of the computer in today's world. The computer is no longer a magical, unfamiliar tool that is used only by researchers or scholars or scientists. The computer helps us do our jobs and even routine tasks more effectively and efficiently. More importantly, it gives us power never before available to solve complex problems. Mathematics instruction in secondary schools is frequently perceived to be more a amendable to the use of computers than are other areas of the school curriculum. This is based on the perception of mathematics as a subject with clearly defined objectives and outcomes that can be reliably measured by devices readily at hand or easily constructed by teachers or researchers. Because of this reason, the first large-scale computerized curriculum projects were in mathematics, and the first educational computer games were mathematics games. And now, the entire mathematics curriculum appears to be the first of the traditional school curriculum areas to be undergoing substantial trasformation because of computers. Recently, many research-Institutes of our country are going to study on computers in orders to use it in mathematics education, but the study is still start ing-step. In order to keep abreast of this trend necessity, and to enhance mathematics teaching/learning which is instructed lecture-based teaching/learning at the present time, this study aims to develop/present practical method of computer-using. This is devided into three methods. 1. Programming teaching/learning method This part is presented the following five types which can teach/learn the mathematical concepts and principle through concise program. (Type 1) Complete a program. (Type 2) Know the given program's content and predict the output. (Type 3) Write a program of the given flow-chart and solve the problem. (Type 4) Make an inference from an error message, find errors and correct them. (Type 5) Investigate complex mathematical fact through program and annotate a program. 2. Problem-solving teaching/learning method solving This part is illustrated how a computer can be used as a tool to help students solve realistic mathematical problems while simultaneously reinforcing their understanding of problem-solving processes. Here, four different problems are presented. For each problem, a four-stage problem-solving model of polya is given: Problem statement, Problem analysis, Computer program, and Looking back/Looking ahead. 3. CAI program teaching/learning method This part is developed/presented courseware of sine theorem section (Mathematics I for high school) in order to avail individualized learning or interactive learning with teacher.   • A cellobiose-utilizing recombinant yeast having $\beta$-glucosidase activity was developed for ethanol production from a mixture of glucose and cellobiose. Using $\delta$-sequences of Tyl transposon of yeast as target sites for homologous recombination, a heterologous gene of $\beta$-glucosidase was integrated into the chromosome of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The $\delta$-integrated recombinant yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae L2612 (Pb-BGL), showed perfect mitotic stability even in nonselective media and showed ca. 1.5 fold higher $\beta$-glucosidase activity than the recombinant yeast harboring the $2\mu$-based plasmid vector system. A mathematical model was developed to describe the $\beta$-glucosidase formation and ethanol production from the Saccharomyces cerevisiae L2612 ($p\delta-BGL$). The model newly described that the heterologous $\beta$-glucosidase production mediated by ADH1 promoter is regulated by glucose and repressed by ethanol.

  • Recently, photovoltaic system has been studied widely as a renewable energy system, because it does not produce environmental pollution and it has infinity energy source from the sun. A study on photovoltaic system has a lot of problems like as reappearance and repetition of some situation in the laboratory experiment for development of MPPT algorithm and islanding detection algorithm, because output characteristics of solar cell are varied by irradiation and surface temperature of solar cell. And this system is consisted a lot of solar cell unit. Therefore, the assistant equipment which emulates the solar cell characteristics which can be controlled arbitrarily by researcher is require to the researchers for reliable experimental data. In this paper, the virtual implement of solar cell (VISC) system is proposed to solve these problems and to achieve reliable experimental result on photovoltaic system. VISC system emulates the solar cell output characteristics, and this system can substitute solar cell in laboratory experiment system. To realize the VISC, mathematical model of solar cell is studied for driving converter and the DC/DC converters are compared in viewpoint of tracking error using computer simulation. And then analysis of parallel and series characteristics was done for combination of VISC model.

  • In this paper, a mathematical modeling was developed to simulate 1kW class air cooled Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell(PEMFC) system. The proposed modeling was conducted under SIMULINK based environment. The model ing was developed based on the thermodynamic and chemical equilibrium. The objective is to design and implement the entire fuel cell system model ing including the system controller modeling. The fuel cell process and the control system modeling should have to be connected with each other simultaneously, therefore the two types of modeling influences each other when the system simulator run. The fuel cell modeling libraries are simulated using the SIMULINK under the thermodynamic and chemical equilibrium base. The PID controller application was designed and developed to test the process modeling and verify it. This the prototype development of the fuel cell system to design and test more complicate fuel cell systems, like the residential power generation system. The simulation results was compared to the real PEMFC system performance. We have achieved the reasonable accordance with the Lab test and the simulation results.

Experimental and Analytical Study on the Bus Duct System for the Prediction of Temperature Variations Due To the Fluctuation of Load

  • In this paper, a thermal model is developed for the bus bar system to predict the temperature variation during the transient time period and to calculate both the steady-state and transient electrical current carrying capacity (ampacity) of bus bar. The bus bar system installed in the power house of Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore has been considered. Temperature variation predicted in the modelling is validated by observing the current and steady state temperatures in different feeders of the bus bar. Magnetic field of the extreme phases R and B induces more current in the middle phase Y. Hence, the steady state temperature in the phase Y is greater than other two phases. The transient capabilities of the bus bar are illustrated by calculating the variations in the bus bar temperature when it is subjected to a step change in current during the peak hours due to increase in hostel utilities and facilities (5.30 pm to 10.30 pm). The physical and geometrical properties of the bus bar and temperature variation in the bus bar are used to estimate the thermal time constants for common bus bar cross-sections. An analytical expression for the time constant of the bus bar is derived.

  • Computer simulations are widely used to analyze passenger safety in simulated traffic accidents. ATB, Articulated Total Body, is a computer simulation model developed to predict gross human body response to such dynamic environments as vehicle crashes and pilot ejections. ATB, whose code is open, has high flexibility and application capability that users can easily insert defined modules and functions. ATB is, however, inconvenient as it was coded in FORTRAN and it needs a formated input file. Moreover, it takes much time to make input files and to modify coding errors. This study aims to increase user friendliness by adding a preprocessor program, WINATB(WINdows ATB), to the conventional ATB. WINATB, programmed in Visual C++ and OpenGL, uses ATB IV as a dynamic solver. The preprocessor helps users prepare input files through graphic interface and dialog box. An additional postprocessor makes the graphical presentation of simulated results. In these case of the frontal crash, the rear impact and the side impact, the simulation results obtained by WINATB and MADYMO(MAthematical Dynamic Model) are compared to validate the effectiveness of WINAIB.

  • Electro-hydraulic power steering (EHPS) system is the power-assisted steering which operates the hydraulic pump by BLDC motors for assisting the steering force. EHPS consists of BLDC motor, gear pump, oil-hydraulic circuit and steering system. Since EHPS is a convergence system consisting of electricity and electronic, hydraulic and mechanical system, it is difficult to establish the simulation model. In this paper, the mathematical model of EHPS system components were presented, and the simulations of the multi-domain system were performed by using AMESim. The trial and error of development would be reduced by using this simulation results, and it would be helpful for developing high-quality EHPS.
