  • The overall trend of the contemporary society which is characterized by the variety and de-unification shows many that object to the language system of the structuralism. The typical characteristics of deconstruction in contemporary architecture and products are deconstruction of meanings, deconstructuralism of he form by the use of material, new material, deconstruction of metaphor and way of expression, deconstruction of proportion and deconstruction of ideas. The design elements of the deconstruction are re-defying the function, changing shapes, the structures, metaphors, dening of the golden proportions and the emphasizing the kitsch elements. From the various style, the kitsch style is a phenomenon that comes from the way of representing emotion, inspiration, understanding of the popularity, and the authority of consumers for choice.

  • In this study, the design program for optimal wire batch around service line is made to improve the dielectric strength at the primary winding using Finite Element Method. The automatic convergence algorithm for finding of limit object value using loop circulation method is developed to make the optimal design simulator The modulation method is suggested to make division time faster which is very important for full program efficiency. As a result, the program execution time is reduced about 32% and the optimal wire batch design is obtained.

  • SU-8 is a epoxy based photoresist designed for MEMS applications, where a thick, chemically and thermally stable image is desired. But SU-8 has proven to be very sensitive to variation in processing variables and hence difficult to use in the fabrication of useful structures. In this paper, negative SU-8 photoresist processed has been characterized in terms of delamination. Based on a full factorial designed experiment. Employing the design of experiment (DOE), a process parameter is established, and analyzing of full factional design is generated to investigate degree of delamination associated with three process parameters: post exposure bake (PEB) temperature, PEB time, and exposure energy. These results identify acceptable ranges of the three process variables to avoid delamination of SU-8 film, which in turn might lead to potential defects in MEMS device fabrication.

  • The study attempted to identify the present conditions and problems of existing cap makers and to find a way to resolve the problems by examining the actual state of their production activities, in order to present basic data for designing more comfortable caps. After a preliminary examination was carried out with college women in Taegu and Kyongbuk areas, seven cap makers who have launched their own individual brands were chosen, and a questionnaire was performed with them. The collected data was analysed, using the SAS program. The results showed that the sales of the makers increased each year but they had a little defect rates resulting from poor raw and sub-materials and were inactive in developing a material or design. It was analysed, therefore, that to produce high quality caps, it is urgently required to develop a new material and design.

  • ;Recently the sheet forming simulation technology revealed great progress in the sense of practical application in the automotive, electric/electronics and aviation/space industries. The goal of sheet forming simulation is to embedded in the design engineering system which is consisted by the analysis and synthesis modules. This design simulation system predicts the slackness of sheet and estimate the formability, and search the optimum material/forming/structure conditions. This OVER-ALL OPTIMUM DESIGN can be classified as follow; 1. ANALYZING PROCEDURE: Numerical simulation based on nonlinear theories -geometry, material and friction nonlinearities- 2. OPTIMIZATION PROCEDURE: Optimum design based on mathematical programing and AI technologies, those are implemented in CAD/CAM/CAE System - Concurrent Engineering System-. In this paper, four subjects will be discussed; (1) State of arts of computer simulation technologies in Japan. (2)History of sheet forming simulation. (3) Benchmark problems. (4) Future technology in the sheet forming simulation.ation.

  • This study investigated the slow cooling conditions in the molding of aspheric glass lens using the design of experiment (DOE). The optimization of the slow cooling conditions with respect to the form accuracy (PV) of the molded lens were ascertained by employing full factorial design. As a result of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and P-value (significance level), it was verified that slow cooling rate represent the most significant operative variables that affect the corresponding response variable. In the optimum condition, the molded lens show 82% of transcription ratio.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the structural design and electrical characteristics of a 3.3 kV super junction FS IGBT as a next generation power device. The device parameters were extracted by design and process simulation. To obtain optimal breakdown voltage, we researched the breakdown characteristics. Initially, we confirmed that the breakdown voltage decreased as trench depth increased. We analyzed the breakdown voltage according to p pillar dose. As a result of the experiment, we confirmed that the breakdown voltage increased as p pillar dose increased. To obtain more than 3.3 kV, the p pillar dose was $5{\times}10^{13}cm^{-2}$, and the epi layer resistance was $140{\Omega}$. We extracted design and process parameters considering the on state voltage drop.

  • The Grout-reinforcement technique which is widely used during the excavation of a shallow or an endangered tunnel can be classified into a couple of groups according to the properties and injection methods of the grout. The reinforcement design will, therefore, take a different approach based on the grouting method under consideration. However, the injection procedure is mainly performed by the experience of the foreman rather than engineering judgement , specifically the permeation grouting through the rock joints and its reinforcement effect Is not fully under-stood during the design stage, In this study, the anisotropic material properties of the grout-reinforced rock masses are derived from the concept of composite materials and the effect of intact rock, vertical grouting and permeation grouting is, therefore, fully accounted for. Through the parametric studies on the characteristics of rock joints, intact rock and grouting materials, various case studies have been considered. The results, illustrated via the design charts, can be directly used during the reinforcement design.

  • Recently, many strengthening methods are developed to repair damaged structures, especially, steel plate or carbon fiber sheet bonding methods are widely used. For the bonding methods, the strengthening materials are bonded when the original structure is under loading, with causes the difference of initial stresses between original member and bonded material. However, current design method or theory, which mostly depends on ultimately strength design, cannot account the difference of initial stresses between members, and it disregards the reduction of nominal strength. In this study, a new strengthening design theory and program which can account the difference of initial stresses are developed, and applied to the case when a structure in service is repaired. In order to verify the validity of the theory and the program, a test result is referred and compare with the results and it is showed that the calculated values are almost same as the referred data and finally proved that the program is reliable. The results showed that the amount of strengthening material depends on the status of damages of structure, and the nominal strength is reduced depending on the degree of damages.
