  • The paper discusses several means for estimating appropriating discount rates to value non-traded assets. That Is, this study discusses the relationship between market equity beta and observable finance information. The relationship can in principle be used to determine betas for non-traded entity for which conventional market model or pure-play techniques are impractical. In addition, the paper shows on model researched by Patterson in 1993. Patterson's research investigates the cross-sectional relationship market beta and accounting beta in Canadian capital market.

  • Green Design is mostly discussed in the field of industry design on the concept basis, while less attention to environmental issues have been paid by neither designer nor manufacturer, which thereby adds to the necessity of the study on Green Design methods and process to a great extent. This article through the classification and analysis of DFX, researches on which kinds of designs in the Clock products market are invested with green design concept as piloted by the principle of DFMs, DFR, DFA and DFD. DFX means design for excellence, and also "design for X", where X is a variable with many values. Under the label Design for X, a wide collection of specific design guidelines are summarized. This article conducts DFX principle assessments on Clock by selecting 30 products of Clock market varieties as the samples, and conducts the field design practices centering on those materials of the least conformity with green design tenet amidst the Framework assessment results. In the course of field practices, DFMs principle is introduced, and embodies the significance of DFX method guidance by virtue of the ultimate results of conceptual designs conducted in the guidance of theoretical basis.

  • Constitutional issue of economic order has fiercely been disputed around the world and through the ages. In Korea, there also has been endless argument on to what extent the government should intervene in the economy through regulation. Article 119 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea has its basis on the principle of free market economy, exceptionally allowing the government to intervene and coordinate in certain situations. The Constitution empowers the government with the authority of regulation and coordination to execute the Constitutional value of guaranteeing and securing fundamental human rights. Therefore, the government, as a fair and just mediator, should perform its mission to democratize the economy as well as secure market freedom and creative initiative.

  • It is becoming harder and harder to philosophically defend liberalism in general under the circumstances in which neoliberalism is presumed to be blamed for today's global economic crisis. I nonetheless believe that liberal democracy can be revitalized with the help not from outside but from inside, although this might make my paper 'untimely'. Philosophical reflection on market is indispensible to the project of radical liberalism. Philosophy of market first delves into the nature of market in Principle. Next, it stipulates upon the complex interrelationships between the market order and the democratic order. This inquiry will cast light on that both the standard pro-market theory and the anti-market theory in relation to democracy are one-sided. The project of radical liberalism can be further articulated with the introduction of the concept of 'the political'. In conclusion, radical liberalism is expounded as a plausible version of Contemporary Korean social philosophy with a universal connotation.

  • The Korean distribution market is now faced with various difficult problems. for instance, the withering of domestic demand by effect of IMF support system, the competitive foreign enterprise's entry into domestic distribution market by opening of its market, and the diversity and unexpected change of consumers' needs. Through the comparative study with Japanese distribution industry, we could find out the outline of information strategy that Korean wholesalers and retailers can solve such problems and stand at competitive advantage in Korean distribution market. We use information system in order to get data for consumers' needs quick and diversely. analyze those accurately, and put those into merchandising. So we have to work out the information strategy in line with the three-point principle, such as the integration or linking of information systems, the sustaining improvement and development of information systems, and the sharing of information.

  • Achieving the two goals of providing stable remuneration and promoting market based incentive for generation capacity with only one kind of capacity price is a difficult proposition. This paper suggests a market design in which two different kinds of capacity prices are used to achieve these goals. It maintains the current capacity price that is determined administratively based on the fixed cost of the gas-turbine generator. A second capacity price is added that covers generators with higher fixed costs and lower fuel costs such as combined-cycle gas turbine, coal-powered, and nuclear generators. This second capacity price is conditional on a lower energy price ceiling and determined by the interaction of the market supply and a demand schedule derived from the optimal fuel mixed principle.

  • This paper describes the attributes, performance and development status of a high performance capacitive torque sensor intended for use in a electric power steering (EPS) system. The EPS system is composed of torque sensor, ECU, motor, gears and etc. Among the elements, torque sensor in the steering column is one of the core technologies. The new capacitive torque sensor in this paper is developed differently from working principle and mechanical structure compare to extant torque sensors in market and patent. Based on the result of numerical analysis, a experimental equipment is made which is composed of a test jig and a capacitive sensor and validity of numerical analysis and feasibility of the torque sensor are verified.

  • Self-exciting electronic ballast, of small size, and low cost, and high power, with no stroboscopic effect, no noise, is widely used in the general lighting market. This paper describes the cause of high switching loss of self-exciting electronic ballast, based on its operational principle; then, to reduce the switch temperature and increase the reliability of the product, the drive circuit has been improved, to achieve soft-switching. The theory analysis, simulation and experimental result prove the feasibility and compatibility of this new method in practice. Finally, the design procedure and winding method of the self-exciting current transformer are introduced.
