  • This paper addresses the localization and navigation problem in the movement of service robots by using invisible two dimensional barcodes on the floor. Compared with other methods using natural or artificial landmarks, the proposed localization method has great advantages in cost and appearance since the location of the robot is perfectly known using the barcode information after mapping is finished. We also propose a navigation algorithm which uses a topological structure. For the topological information, we define nodes and edges which are suitable for indoor navigation, especially for large area having multiple rooms, many walls, and many static obstacles. The proposed algorithm also has the advantage that errors which occur in each node are mutually independent and can be compensated exactly after some navigation using barcodes. Simulation and experimental results were performed to verify the algorithm in the barcode environment, showing excellent performance results. After mapping, it is also possible to solve the kidnapped robot problem and to generate paths using topological information.

  • XML is becoming the standard of the new document exchanging. Due to the ablility expressing various types of document structure through XML, RosettaNet and BizTalk are using XML as a core technology in the part of e-Business. Framework is running Business process each other different standard. Internal documents in each company should be transformed differently without any loss to work with other companies. In this paper, transforming Processor based on XML mapping information from XML document information.

  • This paper proposes a novel method based on error back propagation neural networks to fuse laser sensor data and ultrasonic sensor data for enhancing the accuracy of mapping. For navigation of single robot, the robot has to know its initial position and accurate environment information around it. However, due to the inherent properties of sensors, each sensor has its own advantages and drawbacks. In our system, the robot equipped with seven ultrasonic sensors and a laser sensor navigates to map two different corridor environments. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the heterogeneous sensor fusion using an error backpropagation algorithm for mapping.

  • Unexpected postoperative changes, such as growth in rib hump, has been occasionally reported after corrective surgery for scoliosis. However there has been experimental data for explanation of these changes, nor the suggestion of optimal correction method. This numerical study was designed to investigate the main correlating elements in operative kinematics with post-operative changes of vertebral rotation and rib cage deformation in the corrective surgery of scoliosis. To develop a scoliotic spine model automatically, a special program for converting normal spine model to scoliotic spine model was developed. A mathematical finite element model of normal spine including rib cage, sternum, both clavicles, and pelvis was developed with anatomical details. The skeletal deformity of scoliosis was reconstructed, by mapping the X-ray images of a scoliosis into this three dimensional normal spine and rib cage model. The geometric mapping was performed by translating and rotating the spinal colume with the amount analyzed from the digitized 12 built-in coordinate axes in each vertebral image. By utilizing this program, problems generated in mapping procedure such as facet joint overlapping, vertebral body deformity could be automatically resolved.

  • This paper reviews commercial wind mapping services provided by the oversea consulting companies, AL-PRO and anemos in Germany, AWS Truepower and 3TIER in USA. They provide quick-to-use but essential dataset for a preliminary assessment before commencing an actual feasibility study for wind farm development. Details of wind mapping method, mapresolution, data extraction height, price and so forth are compared and fresh service contents such as site analysis report are drawn from the comparison. Despite its public service, the objective value of the Renewable Energy Resource Map System of Korea Instistute of Energy Research is also confirmed and it is anticipated that the drawn new content idea will be ported to the system to enrich its applicability.

  • A genomic DNA of alkaliphilic bacterium, Micrococcus sp. Y-l, was analysed using the physical mapping method of pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Five restriction enzymes of Sspl, Hpal, Xbal, Ndel or EcoRI, which recognize the Adenine-Thymine-rich sequences of genomic DNA, were used for the generation of few (7 to 20) distinctly separate fragments, with average sizes in the range of 200~500 kb. However, the sites for Notl and SfiI, 8 base-recognizing enzymes, were highly frequent. The genome size of this strain was determined to be 4 mega base pairs (Mb) from restriction fragments separated by PFGE. This is the first case of restriction mapping in alkaliphilic bacterium.

  • The deep excavation work in Korean downtown is almost excuted near by existing structures and utility lines because of the diminution of available yard for construction. So, it was required more and more that the accurate control of displacement on the earth retaining system for minimizing the popular complaint and the damage from constructional accident. Automatic monitoring system is adopted in fracture zone for real time monitoring. In addition, Face mapping is carried out on the face of fracture zone according to excavation sequence. As the result of automatic monitoring system and face mapping, we was able to take the necessary reinforcement and changing excavation method within suitable time. This paper is informed about a stability case on the deep rock excavation site with fracture zone in urban area by automatic monitoring system.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of CLB based CPLD technology mapping for power minimization in combinational circuit. The problem has been previously proved to be NP-hard, and hence we present an efficient heuristic algorithm for it. The main idea of our algorithm is to exploit the "cut enumeration" and "feasible cluster" technique to generate possible mapping solutions for the sub-circuit rooted at each node. However, for the consideration of both run time and memory space, only a fixed-number of solutions are selected and stored by our algorithm. To facilitate the selection process, a method that correctly calculates the estimated power consumption for each mapped sub-circuit is developed. The experimental results show that our approach is shown a decrease of 30.5% compared with DDMAP and that of 15.63% for TEMPLA in the Power consumption.

  • In this paper, we consider the functional equation f(x + 2y) - 3f(x + y) + 3f(x) - f(x - y) - 3f(y) + 3f(-y) = 0 and prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability for it when the target space is a fuzzy Banach space. The usual method to obtain the stability for mixed type functional equation is to split the cases according to whether the involving mappings are odd or even. In this paper, we show that the stability of a quadratic-cubic mapping can be obtained without distinguishing the two cases.
