CONVERGENCE THEOREMS FOR TWO FAMILIES OF WEAK RELATIVELY NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS AND A FAMILY OF EQUILIBRIUM PROBLEMS

  • The purpose of this paper is to prove strong convergence theorems for common fixed points of two families of weak relatively nonexpansive mappings and a family of equilibrium problems by a new monotone hybrid method in Banach spaces. Because the hybrid method presented in this paper is monotone, so that the method of the proof is different from the original one. We shall give an example which is weak relatively nonexpansive mapping but not relatively nonexpansive mapping in Banach space $l^2$. Our results improve and extend the corresponding results announced in [W. Takahashi and K. Zembayashi, Strong convergence theorem by a new hybrid method for equilibrium problems and relatively nonexpansive mappings, Fixed Point Theory Appl. (2008), Article ID 528476, 11 pages; doi:10.1155/2008/528476] and [Y. Su, Z. Wang, and H. Xu, Strong convergence theorems for a common fixed point of two hemi-relatively nonexpansive mappings, Nonlinear Anal. 71 (2009), no. 11, 5616?5628] and some other papers.

가이드 곡면을 이용한 곡명의 변형 (Surface Deformation Using Guide Surfaces)

  • In this paper, the method to modify a surface through three dimensional vector field technique is presented, In this method two guide surfaces are required as a shape reference. One is the shape of original surface, the other is the target shape for the result surface. Proposed method is consists of two steps. The first step is to calculate the mapping points on original and target guide surfaces so that the shape error may be minimized. The second step is to construct the smooth vector field from mapping points of the first step. The developed method is applied to shoe design system which makes the surface modeling very easy and effective.

레이저 코너 패턴의 매칭을 이용한 이동 로봇의 EKF 기반 SLAM (EKF-based Simultaneous Localization and Mapping of Mobile Robot using Laser Corner Pattern Matching)

  • In this paper, we propose an extended Kalman filter(EKF)-based simultaneous localization and mapping(SLAM) method using laser corner pattern matching for mobile robots. SLAM is one of the most important problems of mobile robot. However, existing method has the disadvantage of increasing the computation time, depending on the number of landmarks. To improve computation time, we produce the corner pattern using classified and detected corner points. After producing the corner patterns, it is estimated that mobile robot's global position by matching them. The estimated position is used as measurement model in the EKF. To evaluated proposed method, we preformed the experiments in the indoor environments. Experimental results of proposed method are shown to maintain an accuracy and decrease the computation time.

  • In this paper, we propose a computational integral imaging reconstruction (CIIR) method using a round mapping model to improve the viewing quality of 3-D images. The proposed CIIR method can overcome the problem of non-uniformly reconstructed images caused by the conventional method. To show the usefulness of proposed method, some experiments are carried out and the results are presented.

Intra-picture Block-matching Method for Codebook-based Texture Compression

  • In this paper, an efficient texture compression method is proposed for fast rendering, which exploits the spatial correlation among blocks through intra-picture block matching. Texture mapping is widely used to enhance the visual quality of results in real-time rendering applications. For fast texture mapping, it is necessary to identify an effective trade-off between compression efficiency and computational complexity. The conventional compression methods utilized for image processing (e.g., JPEG) provide high compression efficiency while resulting in high complexity. Thus, low complexity methods, such as ETC1, are often used in real-time rendering applications. Although these methods can achieve low complexity, the compression efficiency is still lower than that of JPEG. To solve this problem, we propose a texture compression method by reducing the spatial redundancy between blocks in order to achieve the better compression performance than ETC1 while maintaining complexity that is lower than that of JPEG. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves better compression efficiency than ETC1, and the decoding time is significantly reduced compared to JPEG while similar to ETC1.

An improved spectrum mapping applied to speaker adaptive Kroean word recognition

  • This paper improves the previously proposed spectral mapping method for supervised speaker adaptation in which a mapped spectrum is interpolated from speaker difference vectors at typical spectra based on a minimized distortion criterion. In estimating these difference vectors, it is important to find an appropriate number of typical points. The previous method empirically adjusts the number of typical points, while the present method optimizes the effective number by rank reduction of normal equation. This algorithm was applied to a supervised speaker adaptation for Korean word recognition using the templates form a prototype male speaker. The result showed that the rank reduction technique not only can automatically determine an optimal number of code vectors, but also slightly improves the recognition scores compared with those obtained by the previous method.

Weak and Strong Convergence of Hybrid Subgradient Method for Pseudomonotone Equilibrium Problems and Nonspreading-Type Mappings in Hilbert Spaces

  • In this paper, we introduce a hybrid subgradient method for finding an element common to both the solution set of a class of pseudomonotone equilibrium problems, and the set of fixed points of a finite family of ${\kappa}$-strictly presudononspreading mappings in a real Hilbert space. We establish some weak and strong convergence theorems of the sequences generated by our iterative method under some suitable conditions. These convergence theorems are investigated without the Lipschitz condition for bifunctions. Our results complement many known recent results in the literature.

동적 도시 환경에서 의미론적 시각적 장소 인식 (Semantic Visual Place Recognition in Dynamic Urban Environment)

  • In visual simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM), the correct recognition of a place benefits in relocalization and improved map accuracy. However, its performance is significantly affected by the environmental conditions such as variation in light, viewpoints, seasons, and presence of dynamic objects. This research addresses the problem of feature occlusion caused by interference of dynamic objects leading to the poor performance of visual place recognition algorithm. To overcome the aforementioned problem, this research analyzes the role of scene semantics in correct detection of a place in challenging environments and presents a semantics aided visual place recognition method. Semantics being invariant to viewpoint changes and dynamic environment can improve the overall performance of the place matching method. The proposed method is evaluated on the two benchmark datasets with dynamic environment and seasonal changes. Experimental results show the improved performance of the visual place recognition method for vSLAM.

지상 라이다의 점군 데이터를 이용한 2차원 및 3차원 실내 GIS 도면 반자동 구축 기법 개발 (Semi-Automatic Method for Constructing 2D and 3D Indoor GIS Maps based on Point Clouds from Terrestrial LiDAR)

  • 도시의 발전 및 성장으로 인해 건물은 고층화, 대형화, 복잡화 되고 있으며, 효율적인 공간정보의 활용 및 공유를 위해 실내외 GIS의 중요성은 증가되고 있다. 하지만 도면 생성기술은 지형 및 도시의 2차원 및 3차원 도면 생성에 대해서 주로 선행되었으며, 건물 실내공간의 도면 구축 기술에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 지상라이다로부터 취득된 실내 점군데이터를 이용한 2차원 및 3차원 실내 도면 반자동 구축 기법을 제안하였다. 제안한 기법은 전처리, 2차원 도면생성, 3차원 도면생성 단계로 이루어진다. 전처리 단계는 실내 공간의 높이를 측정하고 점군데이터의 노이즈를 식별한다. 2차원 도면 생성 단계에서는 외곽선 추출격자와 정제과정을 이용하여 평면도를 생성한다. 3차원 도면 생성 단계에서는 전처리 과정에서 측정된 높이와 평면도를 이용하여 3차원 와이어프레임 모델을 생성한다. 전처리 과정에서 식별된 노이즈 데이터는 3차원 와이어 프레임 모델과 함께 3차원 실내 도면의 세부 모델링에 이용된다. 제안한 기법은 실내 복도를 측량한 점군데이터에 적용하여 결과를 확인하였으며, 향후 실내 GIS 구축을 위한 2차원 및 3차원 도면 생성에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 매체와 기술의 발전과 함께 애니메이션은 다양한 장르적 융합을 꾀하고 있다. 모바일 디바이스가 새로운 영상 재생 매체로 보편화되면서 애니메이션은 극장이나 TV와 같은 한정된 재생 매체에서 벗어나 다양한 매체와 장소에서 관객들과 만나고 있다. 또한 다양한 기술과 예술 형태가 융합하여 애니메이션 자체의 장르 변화와 진화가 일어나고 있다. 이러한 현상 속에서 필자는 팝업북과 프로젝션 맵핑을 이용한 새로운 애니메이션 상영방식을 제안하고자 한다. 즉 팝업북을 통해 입체물을 만들고 그 입체물에 영상을 투사하여 기존의 평면 스크린을 통해 관람하던 방식이 아닌 새로운 방식의 애니메이션 관람 형태를 만들고자 한다. 이러한 상영방식은 프로젝션 맵핑과 팝업북을 이용한 선행 작품들에 의해 영감을 얻을 수 있었다. 영국의 부부작가인 데이비 맥과이어와 크리스틴 맥과이어는 팝업북과 프로젝션 맵핑을 이용한 다양한 작품들을 제작해왔다. 필자는 이 작품들을 사례 분석하여 각 작품들이 갖는 장 단점과 작품 사이 차이점들을 명확히 할 수 있었다. 또한 프로젝션 맵핑과 팝업북이 융합되면서 각 장르의 장점들이 작품들을 통해 어떻게 나타나는지도 알 수 있었다. 필자가 제안하는 상영방식은 기존의 선행 작품들과는 차이점을 분명히 갖고 있으며 연극, 프로젝션 맵핑, 팝업북, 애니메이션, 설치물 등 다양한 영역이 융합된 방식으로 Hybrid Animation Theater라 칭한다. Hybrid Animation Theater가 안정된 상영방식으로 인정받을 수 있도록 그 특징과 구조적 설계에 대해 연구하였다. 이후 프로토 타입을 제작하여 그 가능성을 증명하고 단점과 한계점, 향후 연구 방향을 제시 할 수 있었다.
