  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of the morphological diagram by Sasang Constitutions and compare with Huh's morphological diagram, a theory based on the Four Cho Theory(四焦設) by Lee Je-Ma. We classified the Sasang Constitutions of 104 Korean College Students(average age 23.81) using QSCC II. Before measuring of morphologic diagrams, we exert the subjects to take supine position on the bed, and make it a rule that our staffs mesure each people directly. The 50% of the total subjects was Soeumin, 26.9% was Soyangin and 23.1% was Taeumin, our study shows the higher percentage than the other studies in Soeumin. The results as follows ; In the cases of man, Taeumin have more developed Low-Middle Cho(the interval between stomach line and Navel line) than other constitutions, whereas Soeumin has more developed Low cho(the interval between Navel line and Ilium line). In the cases of woman, there is no significant difference of Huh's morphology diagram among three Sasang constitutions. We analyzed the difference of obesity among sasang constitutions, and we found that the BMI(Body Mass Index$(Kg/m^2)$) of Taeumin was significantly higher than other constitutions in male. But there was no significant difference among Sasang constitutions in female. We have not found the exact accordance between the real measurement and Huh's Theory. But for man, there are several statistically significant results, indicating the usefulness of the Huh's Morphological Diagramming theory on the discriminating ability of Sasang Constitutions Classificaton. So this results suggest that the use of the Huh's theory should be improved in the classification of the Sasang Constitutions, considering the difference of morphology by sex.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate change of path length center of body on sacroiliac joint mobilization. The subjects were consisted of sixty healthy adult two decade(28 females. 32 males; mean aged 22.2) from 20 to 29. All subjects randomly assigned to the control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group. sacroiliac joint mobilization group received sacroiliac joint mobilization for 2-3 minutes per day and three times a week during 3 weeks period. The study carried out to determine the change of path length center of body on sacroiliiac joint mobilization from July 1, 2004 through september 30, 2004. Active balancer(SAKAI EAB-100) was used to measure equilibrium ability. All measurements of each subjects were measured at pre-experiment and post-experiment. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. The WPL of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group was no significantly differences at pre-experiment but significantly reduced post-experiment(p<.05). The results of analyzed effects of WPL was significantly reduced between experiment type of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group according to pre-experiment and post-experiment(p<.05). 2. The UPL of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group was no significantly differences at pre-experiment but significantly reduced post-experiment(p<.05). The results of analyzed effects of UPL was significantly reduced between experiment type of control group, sacroiliac joint mobilization group according to pre-experiment and post-experiment(p<.05). Conclusionally these data suggest that a 3-week S-I joint mobilization improved equilibrium. Additional randomized controlled trials to more fully investigate treatment effects and factors that may mediate these effects are needed.

  • The purposes of this study were to find correlations among Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale, gait speed, and Timed Up & Go test (TUG) and to predict gait ability from subscales of Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale. The study population consisted of 30 stroke patients referred to the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Bundang Jaesang General Hospital. All subjects were ambulatory with or without an assistive device. All participants were assessed on Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale and gait speed (m/s), TUG (s). The data were analyzed using independent t-test, Pearson product moment correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression. The results revealed that all items of Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale, except passive joint range of motion were significantly correlated with gait speed and TUG. In particular, sensation score, lower extremity motor and coordination score have a significant correlation with gait speed and TUG (p<.05). The sensation score and lower extremity motor score were important factors in comfortable gait and maximal gait speed. Their power of explanation regarding comfortable gait and maximal gait speed were 63.0% and 65.0%, respectively. The sensation score and lower extremity coordination score were important factors in TUG. Their power of explanation regarding TUG was 55.0%. These results showed that Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale is significantly correlated with gait speed and TUG. Therefore Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale is an appropriate assessment tool to predict gait ability of patients with stroke. Further study about gait speed and TUG by change of Fugl-Meyer Assessment score is needed using a longitudinal study design.

  • In this study we confirmed for the cardiopulmonary ability improvement of the cycling exercise which uses a target heart beat. Consequently, we looked the resting systolic blood pressure down at 2.98% and THBI(Total Heart Beat Index) also decrements at 7.59%. But, increase of $VO_2$ max and PTT(Pulse Transit Time)were each point 24.60% and 4.92%. Increase of $VO_2$ max showed the growth of stroke volume by myocardial development. The increase of a stroke volume induces the decrease of Heart rate. The blood pressure was reduced also though the blood of many quantity was supplied at the artery. The reason is the phenomenon to be due to by an elasticity increase of the artery. We found out it through the decrease of PTT. So the cycling exercise to use consequently the target heart beat will become big aid at the health care.
