  • The primary objective of this study was to classify different family values and to examine how university students' perceptions of childbirth differ according to the types of family values. The sample for this study consisted of 601 university students living in the cities of Seoul, Incheon, and the Gyeonggi province. The data were collected using structured questionnaires distributed through an online survey. Descriptive statistics including frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviation and cluster analysis, One-Way ANOVA and $X^2$ test are applied to analyze the data. The major results of this study are as follows: 1. The values of the university students regarding marriage, children, and familism were used as parameters to categorize the different types of family values on the cluster analysis. The results of the cluster analysis showed that the university students' family values could be classified into three types; "family-centered values", "individual-centered values", and "familism children-centered value". 2. The family values of the university students differed according to each student's gender, age, religion, socioeconomic status, gender-role attitude, and relationships with his or her father and or mother. 3. On average, the number of children that the students would like to have in the future is higher than the number of children that they actually plan to have. 4. The students' perceptions of family planning and low birthrate circumstances differed according to their family values. The university students categorized as having "family-centered values" planned to have the highest number of children in the future and thought that the low birthrate was a very serious issue, whereas the students with "individual-centered values" planned to have the lowest the number of children in the future. 5. To conclude the study, recommendations were made for the government to improve the low birthrate and for facilitate further research regarding this issue.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of professor-student interaction experienced by college students majoring in aviation service on academic self-efficacy and learning immersion. Considering the special nature of aviation service majors and the social changes in university education, we examined how emotional, academic, and career interactions between professors and students affect students' academic achievement and learning immersion. As a result of the study, it is confirmed that academic interaction among professor-student interactions has a positive effect on academic self-efficacy. On the other hand, emotional and career interactions among professor-student interactions do not have a significant effect on academic self-efficacy. In addition, it is analyzed that academic interaction had a positive effect on cognitive, emotional, and behavioral immersion, which are sub-factors of learning immersion. This study suggests that strengthening academic interaction with professors plays an important role in increasing academic self-efficacy and promoting learning immersion among aviation service major college students. In addition, we hope to provide basic data for establishing practical educational plans.

  • Effort to improve balance ability in the field of rehabilitation has been constantly issued and developed up to now. A variety of subcomponent of postural control including function and cognition should be needed in many body systems and be complicatedly linked to each system. In South Korea, although decreased postural dysfunction due to neurological or musculoskeletal disorders has been well documented, we do not have many experience and knowledge of vestibular rehabilitation for maintain and improve balance function. In the United States, vestibular physical therapy is already acknowledged as clinical subspecialty by American Physical Therapy Association. However, there is no curriculum subject related to vestibular rehabilitation in standard education of physical therapy and no specialist who has clinical experience and knowledge of this realm. Therefore, we reviewed general information and basic knowledge of vestibular rehabilitation such as current state of vestibular disorder in South Korea, pathology, major causes of vestibular dysfunction including peripheral vestibular disorders, vestibular neuritis, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, and central disorder, evaluation of vestibular dysfunction, and treatment for vestibular dysfunction new approaches. We expect that physical therapist in South Korea recognize clinical significance of vestibular exercise and that clinical concern and research will be begun in near future.

  • As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to prolong, non face-to-face, online classes has become the new normal in education. To examine the effect of course types and course delivery modes on student course satisfaction, the study analyzed survey data collected from 2,743 students enrolled in a 4-year university located in a metropolitan area. Basic Frequency analysis as well as keyword network analysis were used to analyze student survey data. The main results and implications of the study are as follows. First, the survey results indicated that students preferred asynchronous classes over synchronous online classes. This tendency was consistent regardless of student grades and majors as well as the course type. However, students majoring in more practice-oriented disciplines tend to prefer synchronous online classes and blended classes, and this tendency gets stronger with courses in major. Second, the keyword network analysis results further indicated that interactivity may play an important role in both synchronous and asynchronous online course satisfaction.
