자기공명영상을 이용한 수삼의 내부 품질평가 및 연근판정 (Internal Quality Evaluation and Age Identification of Fresh Korean Ginseng using Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

  • The purpose of this study is to characterize the internal physical properties of fresh Korean ginsengs (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) through a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique. Current external visual inspection cannot determine internal quality of ginsengs successfully. Relaxation time constants, T$_1$ and T$_2$*, were obtained from a series of MR images. Calculated Ti values were varied with different physiological states of ginseng tissues. Internal imaging information was obtained nondestructively from fresh ginsengs. One- and two-dimensional image analyses were performed. One-dimensional image analysis showed a potential of age identification of ginsengs rapidly. Internal quality of normal and abnormal ginsengs was evaluated using two-dimensional MR images. Various types of internal defects such as internal cavity and rotten spot were visualized clearly. The MRI technique had a feasibility to detect internal defects of fresh ginsengs effectively.

  • 물의 양성자완화에 의하여 기생 강자성 ${\alpha}-Fe_{2}O_{3}$의 유효 자기능률 결정을 위한 이론식을 유도하였다. 그 이론식을 유도함에 있어서 그 결정입자의 대응전자스핀과 물분자의 양성자 스핀사이의 거리가 상대적 거리보다 오히려 동경벡터로 고려되어야 한다는 사실을 제외하고서 자유 상자성 이론들을 함유함고 있는 수용액에 적용된 수학적 과정과 정확히 동일하다는 것을 알았다. 또한 유도된 이론식에 의하여 계산된 결정입자의 유효자기능률이 Hiral에 의하여 결정된 실험치 잘 일치함을 알았다.

Time-Resolved Photoexcitation Dynamics of Electrical Conductivity of Magnetic Organic Superconductor λ-(BETS)2Fe0.45Ga0.55Cl4

  • The time-resolved photoexcitation dynamics of electrical conductivity of the magnetic organic superconductor ${\lambda}-(BETS)_2Fe_{0.45}Ga_{0.55}Cl_4$ has been studied with a nanosecond visible laser pulse at its three different phases, i. e., metallic phase, superconducting phase and insulating phase. A transient increase of the resistance is induced by photoirradiation at all the temperatures measured for all three phases, but the decay profile shows a significant temperature dependence. The relaxation rate in the metallic and insulating phase are different from each other, and the decay time is relatively faster and almost constant in the metallic phase. However, a prolongation of the relaxation time is observed at temperature just around the narrow superconducting phase. Nonbolometric (nonthermal) origin of the observed photoresponse of the electrical conductivity is confirmed in the superconducting phase.

  • $Mn_{12}O_{12}(O_2CCH_2CH_2CH_2Cl)_{16}(H_2O)_4]$ (noted as $Mn_{12}$-BuCl), a new polynuclear complex of manganese chlorobutyrate has been successfully prepared by substitution of acetate with 4-chlorobutyric acid. The $Mn_{12}-BuCl$ crystallizes into triclinic space group P-1 with a = 14.5560(11) ${\AA}$, b = 14.5819(11) TEX>${\AA}$, c = 27.265(2) ${\AA}$, ${\alpha}\;=\;84.1140(10)^{\circ}\;,\;{\beta}\;=\;88.805(2)^{\circ},\;{\gamma}\;=\;89.8820(10)^{\circ}$, and Z = 2. The local environments of manganese 3+ and 4+ ions of the title compound are close to those of other $Mn_{12}$ compounds. The electrochemical data for $Mn_{12}-BuCl$ involve reversible reactions of two-electron reductions. The $Mn_{12}-BuCl$ also presents magnetic relaxation below 10 K implying that each molecule behaves as a single molecule magnet.

$^{15}$N NMR Relaxation Study of the Catalytic Residues in Y14F Mutant Ketosteroid Isomerase

  • $^1$H-detected $^{15}$N NMR was employed to investigated the effect of mutation (Y14F) on the dynamic properties of catalytic residues in ${\Delta}^5$-3- ketosteroid isomerase (KSI) from Conamonas testosteroni. In particular, the backbone dynamics of the catalytic residues have been studied in free enzyme and its complex with a steroid ligand, 19-nortestosterone hemisuccinate, by $^{15}$N relaxation measurements. The relaxation data were analyzed using the model-free formalism to extract the model-free parameters (S$^2$, ${\tau}_e$, and R$_{ex}$). The results show that the mutation causes a significant decrease in the order parameter (S$^2$) for the catalytic residues of free Y14F KSI, presumably due to breakdown of the hydrogen bond network by mutation. In addition, the order parameters of Phe-14 and Asp-99 increased slightly upon ligand binding, indicating a slight restriction of the high-frequency (pico- to nanosecond) internal motions of the residues in the complexed Y14F KSI, while the order parameter of Tyr-55 decreased significantly upon ligand binding.

유전체 이완 분광법의 원리 및 이를 이용한 전해액 미시구조 연구 (Basic theory of Dielectric Relaxation Spectroscopy and Studies of Electrolyte Structure)

  • 전해질의 미시 구조분석을 위해서는 이온-이온 및 이온-용매 상호작용을 이해하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이 총설은 유전체 이완 분광법(Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy)의 기본 원리와, 이를 이용한 전해질 구조 연구 사례를 소개하고자 한다. 유전체 이완 분광법은 임피던스법의 일종으로서, 수십 GHz 수준의 높은 주파수 영역에 걸쳐 전해질의 유전 특성을 측정한다. 이를 통해, 유전체 이완 분광법은 전해질 내 존재하는 다양한 극성 화학 종, 즉, 쌍극자 모멘트(Dipole moment)를 갖는 자유 용매(Free solvent) 및 이온쌍(Ion pair)의 종류와 농도에 대한 정보를 제공한다. 유전체 이완 분광법이 제공하는 정보는 기존 분석 기법(적외선 분광법(Infrared), 라만 분광법(Raman) 및 핵자기 공명 분광법(Nuclear magnetic resonance) 등)이 제공하는 정보들과 상호보완적 관계에 있으며, 이러한 종합적 분석을 통해 전해질 구조에 관한 깊은 이해가 가능하다.

금 나노 입자의 형태적 특성에 따른 $T_1$, $T_2$ 이완 시간의 변화 측정 (Measurements of $T_1$-and $T_2$-relaxation Time Changes According to the Morphological Characteristics of Gold Nanoparticles (GNPs))

  • 목적 : 본 연구에서는 금 나노 입자를 통한 국소 가열과 MR 온도 영상 기법을 결합한 Theragnosis 개념에 대한 가초연구로 금 나노 입자의 특성 및 제조 조건에 따른 MR 변수의 변화를 연구하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 실험실에서 제조된 구형과 막대형 금 나노 입자를 사용하였다. 구형 입자는 합성방법과 교반속도(stirring speed: rpm)를 변수로 설정하였고, 막대형 입자눈 첨가된 구형 입자의 양을 변수로 하여 조건을 다양화하였다. 금 나노 입자를 2% 아가로즈 젤에 1:1 로 혼합하여 임상용 1.5T MRI 시스템에서 신호를 획득하였고, $T_1$$T_2$ 이완시간의 측정을 위해 TR과 TE를 조절하였다. 획득한 영상의 화소별 신호 강도플 이용하여 제작한 소프트웨어로 $T_1$$T_2$ 이완곡선을 추정하였고, 통계 분석으로 유의성을 검증하였다. 결과 : 구형 입자의 평균 $T_1$ 값은 $1.86{\pm}0.04$초, 막대형은 평균 $2.08{\pm}0.04$초로 막대형이 더 걸게 측정되었고, 반면 평균 $T_2$ 값은 구형과 막대형 각각 $57{\pm}2.4$ ms와 $35.45{\pm}0.1$ ms로 구형 나노 입자에서 더 길게 측정되었다. 결론 : 금 나노 입자의 형태적 특성 및 제조 조건에 따른 MR 영상 변수 $T_1$$T_2$ 이완시간의 변화를 확인하였다. 금 나노 입자를 이용한 MR 영상 연구의 수행 시 금 나노 입자의 형태와 제조 조건에 따른 적절한 TR과 TE로 최적화된 영상을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Influence of Working Pressure on The Magnetic Properties of Tb(Fe0.55Co0.45)1.5 Thin Films

  • In this work the magnetic anisotropies of magnetostriction material $Tb(Fe_{0.55}Co_{0.45})_{1.5}$ (named a-TerfecoHan) films were investigated with respect to working pressures in the range 1-7 mTorr. The results obtained show that perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) can be obtained at a working pressure above 5.1 mTorr. XRD was utilized to clarify the origin of the PMA observed in $Tb(Fe_{0.55}Co_{0.45})_{1.5}$ films, and revealed that all samples were amorphous. Therefore, we propose that the PMA effect is explained by stress produced in film due to internal relaxation process and magnetic anisotropy enhancements caused by magnetoelastic interactions.

Gd0.33Sr0.67FeO3 세라믹스의 전기전도 특성 (Electrical Transport Properties of Gd0.33Sr0.67FeO3 Ceramics)

  • In this study, the dielectric, magnetic and transport properties of $Gd_{0.33}Sr_{0.67}FeO_3$ have been analyzed. The dielectric loss anomaly was found to be around 170 K. The activation energy corresponding to relaxation process of this dielectric anomaly was 0.17 eV. From the temperature dependence of the characteristic frequency, we concluded that the elementary process of the dielectric relaxation peak observed is correlated with polaron hopping between $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Fe^{4+}$ ions. The electrical resistivity displayed thermally activated temperature dependence above 200 K with an activation energy of 0.16 eV. In addition, the temperature dependence of thermoelectric power and resistivity suggests that the charge carrier responsible for conduction is strongly localized.

Activation Energy of 69Ga, 71Ga, and 75As Nuclei in GaAs:Mn2+ Single Crystal

  • The spin-lattice relaxation time, $T_1$, for $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$, and $^{75}As$ nuclei in GaAs:$Mn^{2+}$ single crystals was measured as a function of temperature. The values of $T_1$ for $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$, and $^{75}As$ nuclei were found to decrease with increasing temperature. The $T_1$ values in GaAs:$Mn^{2+}$ crystal are similar to those in pure GaAs crystal. The calculated activation energies for the $^{69}Ga$, $^{71}Ga$, and $^{75}As$ nuclei are 4.34, 4.07, and 3.99 kJ/mol. It turns out that the paramagnetic impurity effect of $Mn^{2+}$ ion doped in GaAs single crystal was not strong on the spin-lattice relaxation time.
