  • PID control has been well used for several decade. For PID algorithm, some tuning methods are used and with these parameters, control system is designed. But in some cases various kinds of performance are needed, so variable type of performance index must be utilized so that the designed control system meets the conditions. This paper presents some linear combinational type of performance index and with numerical methods, the PID parameters are obtained. Moreover I-PD type controller is used so that this two degree of freedom controller may give more desirable output characteristics. Simulations are done with MATLAB m file and mdl files.

  • Based on fuzzy logic algorithm this paper constructed fuzzy logic controller for automated vehicles. For passenger´s convenience especially comfortability controller need to reduce the frequency of input variable´s changing. So we established membership functions for comfortability as well as speed following. It made possible to control comfortability directly. To demonstration the efficiency of fuzzy logic controller, we carried out simulation with a automobile´s transfer function. First, we designed the PID controller by using Ziegler-Nichols tunning method.   • In order to establish the robust current controller design technique of series wound motor driver system. This paper proposes a method of compensated Bang-Bang current control using a series wound motor driver system under improperly variable load. To get minimum time torque control. A compensated Bang-Bang current controller structure is simpler than the structure of PID plus Bang-Bang controller. This paper shows that a general 8 bits microprocessor be used efficiently implementing such an algorithm. The calculation time of software is extremely small when compared with conventional PID plus Bang-Bang a controller. Both nonlinear operating characteristics of Digital switching elements and Describing Function methods are used for the analysis and synthesis. Real time implementation of compensated Bang-Bang current is achieved. Concept design strategy of the control and PWM waveform generation algorithms are presented in the paper.

  • In this paper, peak detector of generator's output voltage and variable gain controller are introduced for a fast dynamic response. The conventional r,m.s, signal detected has inherent time delay, and the dynamic response of generator using conventional PID controller has some problem in sudden load change. In this paper, the peak detector and signal selector with variable gain controller is used to overcome this problem. The main controller can check the voltage state from the peak detector. When a sudden load change, the over-voltage and under-voltage signal from peak detector change the controller's gain and exciter's current reference. The proposed scheme can improve the dynamic response, which is verified from experimental test of 200kW diesel engine-generator.

  • The most bottleneck of development of automation excavator system is the making mathematical linear model. Because of non-linear of control circuit, cylinder, join in hydraulic circuit, and heavy loading so on. Therefore, whatever robust controller is designed, real experimentation is necessary. But, a real experimentation has many risks. The excavator is expensive and large size. Therefore a development of experimentation system is difficult and not safe. Specially, there have a difficulty, because of big noise. So, on experimentation is difficult in school. Manufacturing pneumatic excavator modeland using system identification, design a system transfer function in this paper. Also, planning m-PID Controller using CDM, and examining usefulness applied to actuality model.

  • We propose a new method to deal with optimal auto-tuning of the PID controller which is used to process control in various fields. First of all, in this method, 1st order system which was modeled from the unit step response of the system is Pade-approximated, then initial values are determined by the Ziegler-Nichols method. Finally, we can find the parameters of PID controller so as to maximize the fuzzy criterion function which includes the maximum overshoot, damping ratio, rising time and settling time. The Proposed method also shows good adaptability for variations in characteristics and dead m e of the system.

  • PID control has been widely used for real control systems. Particularly, there are many researches on control schemes of tuning PID gains. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no result for discrete-time systems with unknown time-delay and unknown system parameters. On the other hand, Generalized predictive control has been reported as a useful self-tuning control technique for systems with unknown time-delay. So, in this study, based on minimization of a GPC criterion, we present a self-tuning PID control algorithm for unknown papameters and unknown time-delay system. A numerical simulation was presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this method.

Analysis and Design of a Separate Sampling Adaptive PID Algorithm for Digital DC-DC Converters

  • Based on the conventional PID algorithm and the adaptive PID (AD-PID) algorithm, a separate sampling adaptive PID (SSA-PID) algorithm is proposed to improve the transient response of digitally controlled DC-DC converters. The SSA-PID algorithm, which can be divided into an oversampled adaptive P (AD-P) control and an adaptive ID (AD-ID) control, adopts a higher sampling frequency for AD-P control and a conventional sampling frequency for AD-ID control. In addition, it can also adaptively adjust the PID parameters (i.e. $K_p$, $K_i$ and $K_d$) based on the system state. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better line transient and load transient responses than the conventional PID and AD-PID algorithms. Compared with the conventional PID and AD-PID algorithms, the experimental results based on a FPGA indicate that the recovery time of the SSA-PID algorithm is reduced by 80% and 67% separately, and that overshoot is decreased by 33% and 12% for a 700mA load step. Moreover, the SSA-PID algorithm can achieve zero overshoot during startup.

  • This paper presents a design technique of the FPID controller for the load frequency control of power system. parameters of FPID controller are self-tuned by the fuzzy inference algorithm. The computer simulation results show that the proposed controller are more excellent control characteristics than conventional in transient-state and steady-state response.

  • In this paper, we propose a fuzzy controller design method for the water level control of the power plant drum in the form of nominimum phase system The proposed method is based on T. Takagi and H. Sugeno's fuzzy model. And we illustrate the improved characteristics as the simulation results, comparing with the conventional the PID and LQ controller design methods.
