  • Cold weather concrete presents the many characteristic variation of quality, according to the mixing and cooling point, the cooling time and the quantity of air besides the compressive strength of concrete. Thus, in this study to verify the character of cold-weather concrete we make the concrete specimens at laboratory and cool them at cooling-melting machine and then test the 7days compressive strength of them, with the variation of compressive strength of concrete, cooling point, cooling time, cooling weather and air quantity. At the results, the compressive strength of concrete decrease in the case of early cooling point, long cooling time, low cooling temperature and the low design compressive strength

  • In several structural problems, the low concrete strength of compression members has the severest influence on the structural safety. However, the repairing and strengthening techniques for compression members are not established and evaluated. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the rehabilitation techniques to obtain proper structural strength of wall with low concrete strength. The specimens with low strength of concrete were retrofitted with commonly using section increase method and epoxy bonded glass fiber techniques. The tests were executed to failure under concentric and eccentric loads. In this paper, the structural behavior and failure modes were investigated to evaluate the strengthening effects of walls subjected to compression and out-of-plane bending.

  • The properties of Low-heat cement are especially in lower heat of hydration than that of other types of cement. In other respect, Low-heat concrete is more advantageous than OPC concrete in chemical resistance, long term age compressive strength, slump loss and resistance to seawater. This paper deals with 28 days age compressive strength and slump loss by elapsed time of mortar and concrete that made with Low-heat cement and 3 types of other cement.

  • In this study examines physical and mechanical properties the use of domestic low grade meta-kaolin in light weight porous concrete. For this purpose light weight porous concrete incorporating low grade meta-kaolin admixture, was tested for tensile strength and acoustic characteristics. Checking tensile strength of cement and low grade meta-kaolin mixture was used to determine the optimum mix proportion of the low grade meta-kaolin admixture. In this paper sound absorbing material has been investigated by using the light weight porous concrete.

  • In this study, fresh state properties and mechanical properties of low slump concrete which is applied to road pavement have been evaluated by mixing modified sulfur. As results, influence of mixing modified sulfur on the workability was low. Also, compressive strength, and flexural strength tend to decrese with increasing addition rate of modified sulfur. However compressive strength, and flexural strength of modified sulfur concrete were equivalent with that of plain concrete.

  • The objective of the paper is to experimentally investigate the compressive strength of the concrete incorporating fly ash. Ordinary Portland cement(OPC). Water to binder ratio(W/B) ranging from 30% to 60% and curing temperature ranging from $-10^{\circ}{\sim}65^{\circ}C$ were also adopted for experimental parameters. Fly ash was replaced by 30% of cement contents. According to the results, strength development of concrete contained with fly ash is lower than that of plain concrete in low temperature at early age and maturity. In high curing temperature, the concrete with fly ash has higher strength development than that of low temperature regardless of the elapse of age and maturity. Fly ash can have much effect on the strength development of concrete at the condition of mass concrete, hot weather concreting and the concrete products for the steam curing.

  • In this paper, strength development of concrete using blast-furnace slag cement(BSC) and ordinary portland cement(OPC) are discussed under varius W/C and curing temperatures. According to the experimental results, strength development of BSC concrete is lower than that of OPC concrete in low temperature at early age and maturity. In high curing temperature, BSC concrete has higher strength development than that of low temperature regardless of the elapse of age and maturity. BSC has much effect on the strength development of concrete at the condition of mass concrete, hot weather concreting and the concrete products with the steam curing, which is influenced by high temperature.

  • Many existing concrete structures suffer from low quality of concrete and inadequate confinement reinforcement. These deficiencies cause low strength and ductility. Wrapping concrete by carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite sheets enhances compressive strength and deformability. In this study, the effects of the thickness of the CFRP composite wraps on the behavior of concrete are investigated experimentally. Both monotonic and repeated compressive loads are considered during the tests, which are carried out on strengthened undamaged specimens, as well as the specimens, which were tested and damaged priorly and strengthened after repairing. The experimental data shows that, external confinement of concrete by CFRP composite sheets improves both compressive strength and deformability of concrete significantly as a function of the thickness of the CFRP composite wraps around concrete. Empirical equations are also proposed for compressive strength and ultimate axial deformation of FRP composite wrapped concrete. Test results available in the literature, as well as the experimental results presented in this paper, are compared with the analytical results predicted by the proposed equations.

  • This paper approaches to improve the mechanical and durability properties of low calcium fly ash geopolymer concrete with the addition of Alccofine as a mineral admixture. The mechanical and durability performance of GPC was assessed by means of compressive strength, flexural strength, permeability, water absorption and permeable voids tests. The correlation between compressive strength and flexural strength, depth of water penetration and percentage permeable voids are also reported. Test results show that addition of Alccofine significantly improves the mechanical as well as permeation properties of low calcium fly ash geopolymer concrete. Very good correlations were noted between the depth of water penetration and compressive strength, percentage permeable voids and compressive strength as well as between compressive strength and flexural strength.
