  • We present newly observed BVRI CCD light curves for low mass ratio contact binaries, HN UMa and II UMa. The absolute dimensions of these objects were obtained by applying the Wilson-Devinney program to previously published spectroscopic analysis and to our observed photometric data. The evolutionary status of all 21 low mass ratio contact binary system including HN UMa and II UMa was then considered. The secondaries of all low mass ratio contact binaries are located below the zero age main sequence in HR diagram. This phenomenon could be explained by mass loss from the secondary component in the low mass contact binary system because even small mass loss affects luminosity decrease in the low mass stars.

  • In this study, we observed the mechanical properties, thermal stability, and low temperature sealing performance of fluorosilicone elastic composites. When the blend ratio of Phenyl vinyl methyl silicone (PVMQ) was increased, the tensile strength, modulus at 100%, and compression set were decreased. The thermal stability of fluorosilicone elastic composites showed a similar tendency. These were caused by poorer green strength of PVMQ than Fluorosilicone rubber (FVMQ). The change in the tensile strength and elongation at -40℃ showed a decreasing tendency with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. By increasing the PVMQ blend ratio, low-temperature performance was improved. The Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) results showed that Tg was decreased and low-temperature performance was improved with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. However tanδ was decreased becaused of the poor green strength and elasticity of PVMQ. From a hysteresis loss at -40℃, the hysteresis loss value was increased and fluorosilicone elastic composites showed the decreasing tendency of elasticity with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. From the TR test, TR10 was decreased with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. FS-4 (45% PVMQ blended composites) showed a TR10 of -68.0℃ that was 5℃ lower than that of FS-1 (100% FVMQ). The gas leakage temperature was decreased with increasing PVMQ blend ratio. The gas leakage temperature of FS-4 was -69.2℃ that was 5℃ lower than that of FS-1. Caused by the polymer chain started to transfer from a glassy state to a rubbery state and had a mobility of chain under Tg, the gas leakage temperature showed a lower value than Tg. The sealing performance at low temperature was dominated by Tg that directly affected the mobility of the polymer chain.

  • In this paper, we propose a new single-stage isolated switching power supply. The proposed converter reduces the diode conduction loss and offer both the high input Power factor and the direction conversion from the ac line to a dc output voltage. This paper present the Operational principle, analysis and control and experimental results of a 100W prototype.

  • In this paper we calculate the AC Loss in the superconducting slab carrying ac transport current. Magnetic diffusion equation for computation of the electric field and current distribution are based on Maxwell's equations and non-linear constitutive equation. The E-J characteristics of superconductor are applied to computation. We will present the result of the high-temperature superconductor case comparison with the slab of low temperature superconductor.

  • This paper presents a robust error concealment method for burst-packet-loss networks. The proposed error concealment algorithm can reduce the computational complexities of the existing error concealment methods. Moreover, experimental results show that the proposed method produces the better video quality than the conventional boundary matching algorithm.

  • A new single stage AC/DC converter based on the forward converter is proposed. The proposed converter offers both the high power factor and the direct conversion from ac line to dc output voltage. Also, the proposed converter reduces the diode conduction loss, so improves the overall efficiency of the converter, compared with other alternatives. The principles of operation and the simulation results of the proposed converter are presented. A 100 W prototype was built and tested to show the potential of applications of the proposed converter.

  • Transmission capacity is becoming higher according to the increase of power demand. But construction of T/L is very difficult due to the securing of ROW and environmental problems. Then in order to consider efficient utilization of T/L, this paper suggests basic design methods of low-loss conductors.

  • In conventional zero-current-switching(ZCS) PWM converters, the switching loss, stress and noise can't be minimized because they adopt auxiliary switches operated in hard-switching. In this paper, new ZCS-PWM converters of which auxiliary switches always operate with soft-switching are proposed. Therefore, the proposed ZCS-PWM converters are most suitable for systems requiring high-power density. The characteristics of these converters are verified by results of simulation.

  • A large number of soft switching topologies included a resonant circuit have been proposed. But these circuits increase number of switch in circuit and complicate sequence of switching operation. In this Paper, the authors propose power conversion system, DC-AC inverter of high efficiency and high power factor with soft switching mode by partial resonant method. The result is that the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of system is high. And the snubber condenser used in partial resonant circuit makes charging energy regenerated at input power source for resonant operation.

  • We fabricated and characterized a millimeter-wave ceramic package in a frequency range from 6 to 40㎓ using the LTCC(Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) Technology and TRL(Thru-Reflect-Line) calibration method. From these measurement results, the fabricated feed-through structure achieved 0.5 dB, 14 dB of the insertion loss and the return loss at 30 GHz respectively. This ceramic package will be useful for MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit) modules.
