내압을 받는 외부 국부 감육 직관의 파손 기준 (Failure Criterion of Straight Pipe with Outer Local Wall Thinning under Internal Pressure)

  • This study was carried out an experimental and finite element analysis on the fracture behavior of straight pipes with local wall thinning under internal pressure. Local wall thinning was machined on the pipes in order to simulate erosion/corrosion metal loss. The configurations of the eroded area has an eroded ratio of d/t=0.80~0.92 and an eroded length of l=25, 50 and 102 mm. Three-dimensional elastic-plastic analyses were also carried out using the finite element method, which is able to accurately simulate failure behaviors. In regards to the relation ship between pressure and eroded ratio, the criterion that can be used safely under operating pressure and design pressure were obtained from this calculation. The results of this calculation were in relatively good agreement with that of the experiment.

자동조타로써 항행하는 선박에 작용하는 불규칙 외란 추정법에 관한 고찰 (Evaluation of Irregular Disturbances to Ships in Autopilot Navigation)

  • The final aim of our research project is a study on assessment of automatic steering system of ships in open seas. In order to achieve this aim, we need to know the characteristics of each component of the system, and also to know the characteristics of disturbance to ship dynamics. In this paper, we provide calculation method of irregular disturbance to ships in autopilot navigation in open seas, and also show calculation examples about two kinds of ship, ore carrier and fishing boat. The disturbance consists of irregular wave and random wind. The disturbance is calculated as equivalent yaw angular velocity. Each spectrum and time history of disturbance are reasonably evaluated. Further investigation concerning to performance index of autopilot system and energy loss related to automatic course keeping, will be dealt with in another paper.

Properties of the combustion products, constituents, and quanties, can be used to calculate boiler efficiency and beat losses. Using combustion evaluation methods combustion calculation were performed at certain condition and analyze the results.   • When large capacity generation stations that consist of several large units tend to pull out of step from main power system, stabilizing control scheme as emergency control for preventing loss of synchronism of the whole stations with the remaining system is devided into two steps that the first step is to perform on-line prediction for out-of-step and the next step is on-line calculation of the amount of generation shedding for the rest of generators to be in step when out of step is expected. This paper presents on-line prediction scheme for out-of-step based on P-$\delta$ curve estimation using real-time measurement and on-line calculation of generation shedding. The proposed stabilizing scheme was applied to case study of real power system and the results obtained by the method compare well with the results by simulation.

  • To compare the performance of aluminized solid propellants, the theoretical calculation was performed for the propellants using HTPB and PEG binder and four kinds of oxidizers such as AP, HMX, ADN, and HNIW. PEG/HMX/Al and PEG/HNIW/Al showed the maximum performance at 17% of aluminum level and there was no difference in maximum performance when HMX was partially replaced with AP in PEG/HMX/AP/Al propellant. The order of performance magnitude of various propellants which the specific impulse loss calculation was considered by semi-empirical equation was like the following; PEG/HNIW/AI>[$\frac{PEG/HMX/AI}{PEG/HMX/AP/AI}$>HTPB/AP/AI>PEG/ADN/AI

Decarbonylation of the 2-Hydroxypyridine Radical Cation: A Computational Study

  • The potential energy surface (PES) for the dissociation of the 2-hydroxypyridine (2-HP) radical cation was determined from G3//B3LYP calculations, including the loss of CO, HCN, and HNC. The formation of the 1H-pyrrole radical cation by decarbonylation through a more stable tautomer, the 2-pyridone (2-PY) radical cation, was the most favorable dissociation pathway. Kinetic analysis by the Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus model calculations was carried out based on the obtained PES. It is proposed that the dissociation occurs after a rapid tautomerization to 2-$PY^{{\cdot}+}$, and that most of the ions generated by ionization of 2-HP have the structure of 2-$PY^{{\cdot}+}$ at equilibrium above the tautomerization barrier.

  • A method of optimization of process parameters in Arc Welding has been discussed in this paper. The method of investigation is based on the numerical calculation of weld bead by a finite element method and non-linear optimization technique is applied to estimated the optimization process parameters from the numerical calculation. The common package program(ANSYS 4.4A) was used to obtain the process parameters for a thin plate arc welding (TIG, CO$_{2}$). The results on some test are satisfactory and the used method of this paper is a useful guide to the optimum welding condition.

  • This paper presents the analysis of core losses in capacitor-run single phase induction motors using the finite element methods. The double revolving field theory can be used for the analysis to assess the quantitative and qualitative performance of the single-phase induction motor. But it is difficult to evaluate accurately the core losses. It is more difficult to segregate stator and rotor core losses at no-load and load conditions. Numerical analysis such as FEM can be used effectively for the accurate calculation of core losses and motors performances. In this paper, the coupling method of core loss characteristic equation and FEM are proposed for the accurate calculation of core losses in the stator and rotor. The FFT is also used to calculate fundamental and harmonic components in the yoke and teeth parts of motor.

  • 설계초기단계에서 고효율 조명기기의 채택을 원활하게 해주고, 동시에 LLF값을 산정 해줌으로써 건물설계에 적용되는 조명에너지를 절감해주기 위해서는 조명 설계 기법의 개선과 조명 설계 과정의 표준화가 필요하다. 이를 바탕으로 구역공간법(ZCM: Zonal Cavity Method)을 이용한 평균조도 계산용 소프트웨어를 개발하였다.

  • One of the main noise sources in cabin onboard ships is HVAC system. Up to now, the HVAC system designer manually calculates the HVAC system noise, or uses the program that is generally based on text user interface. In such a case, it is difficult to use the program and also to obtain the flow induced noise. In this study, the HVAC noise analysis program has been developed, which is based on GUI user interface that include 3.D modelling and model modification modules. For calculation of the insertion loss of HVAC system elements, NEBB experimental data and plane wave theory are used. And in order to obtain the flow rate information in each HVAC elements which is used to calculate the flow induced noise calculation, Global Converging Newton-Rapson Method is used.
