  • The purpose of this study was to explore the consumer responses such as willingness to pay premium and purchasing cost for fair trade coffee as an ethical product while considering the treatment effect of consumer knowledge. First, the levels of consumer knowledge, willingness to pay premium and purchasing cost were presented. Then, the influencing factors on willingness to pay premium and purchasing cost of fair trade coffee were analyzed by applying the treatment effect model. From the results, first, the level of willingness to pay premium was high and consumers having purchasing experience of fair trade coffee spent 9,923 won at once, while less than half of the consumers knew the fair trade coffee. Second, consumer knowledge, ethical judgement, perception of price value, education level and pocket money significantly influenced to willingness to pay premium, while consumer knowledge, information evaluation, importance of fair trade criteria and level of education significantly influenced to purchasing cost for fair trade coffee. Especially, consumer knowledge of fair trade coffee was an important influencing factor for willingness to pay premium and purchasing cost indirectly as well as directly. Thus, this study might provide some useful information for consumers to choose the ethical behavior and the related companies to create effective promoting strategies for ethical products.

  • Recently, as a result of the progress in power electronics and magnet technology, the applications of inverter fed BLDC Motor have increased for industry and home appliance. Also because of the high efficiency, good acoustic noise characteristic, BLDC Motor applications are growing. However, BLDC Motor requires position sensor, which has many problems such as high cost, more space and difficult to install. Therefore, sensorless control algorithm is being studied. In this paper, sensorless algorithm for interior permanent magnet BLOC motor adaptable for home appliance is proposed. The maximum torque per amp operation with advance angle considering load torque and speed was simulated and verified through the experiment.

Nevertheless, the situation becomes difficult because of the fierce competition among the furniture suppliers with quoting at the lower price to get the order. In order to produce unique and stylish living cabinets, it is required for the furniture designer to create the design under the systematic design process collaborated with the construction company and make the design proposal thereby to the construction company. The present paper is focused on the re-usability of TV set currently possessed by the tenant, variability, uniqueness, pricing level suitable for the cost of real estate sales, modern design and so on. in the development of apartment living room cabinet. Thus, it is important for the furniture supplier to realize the importance of the design field in order to enhance the competitiveness of the customized furniture in the apartment housing. Accordingly the present researcher has developed the modem variable living room cabinet in accordance with the systemic design process by realizing the leads of tenant of the apartment housing and then establishing the concept focused on the design required by both the tenant and construction company.

The questionarre includes 35 items related to physical health complaints and 22 items related to mental health complaints. The data was treated by a computer(SPSS) using one way analysis, and The Fishers' ratio and Chi-square test at the 5% level were also adjusted for the test for statistical significance. The interpretation of this study is limited due to the sample which was restricted to one University and not randomly selected. The followings are the results of the foundings so far achieved. 1. More than 60% of the Woman students have physical health problems in digestive system, cardiovascular system, nervous system, respiratory system, and musculo skeletal system in the order named. 2. More than 50% of the woman students have mental problems because of anger inadequacy sensitivity tension, depression and anxiety in the order named. 3. There were no statistically significant differences among woman students in mental and physical health problems caused by year groups, major groups, growing regional groups. 4. There were significant differences caused by the number of brothers and sisters in the aspect of appealing mental and physical problems. 5. There were significant differences caused by the rate of satisfaction in the living cost, and the lower the rate of the satisfaction in the living cost goes, the higher tile frequency rate of the appealing mental and physical health problems is. 6. There were significant differences caused by the rate of satisfaction of the living in the aspect of appealing mental and physical health problems. There fore, the lower the rate of the satisfaction of the living goes, the higher the frequency rate of the appealing mental and physical health problems is, and the more the complaints are, the more frequent the appealing of the problems of digestive system, circulating system and fatigue is.

  • The current study aims to identify factors associated with private tutoring of college students in Korea. For this purpose, this study used the Korean Education and Employment Panel survey, which contains items regarding whether or not college students receive private tutoring as well as the monthly costs of private lessons. The current study focuses on private English lessons due to the very low response rates of other types of private tutoring. For the analysis, the 5th wave of KEEP collected in 2008 was selected, and a Heckman selection model was employed, including three categories of variables: individual, school, and parent/household factors. The results have revealed that for the selection model (receiving private English tutoring or not), having received private lessons in high school, gender, and level of satisfaction regarding the respondent's current university were significant. In terms of the outcome model (cost for private English tutoring in college), university admission type (rolling vs. regular), living with parents, school type (4-yr university vs. others), being in debt to cover private lesson fees in high school, and monthly household income had significant effects. This article also discusses the results and implications for future research and policy makers.

  • Recently, Smart Home System(SHS) is applied in order to provide comfort, energy efficient and better security to the residence. Thus, by introducing the SHS in the house of elderly people, it is possible to provide a convenient and safe life for old people especially living alone. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low cost but yet flexible and secure smart-phone based SHS. The design is based on inter-working between Arduino board with Bluetooth and Arduino board with Ethernet shield, and the home monitor/appliances are connected to the input/output ports of this board via sensors/relays. In addition, when the old man is put on an emergency, the proposed system will automatically notify it the family. Therefore, we have implemented an inexpensive and efficient SHS for the elderly living alone by inter-working smart phones, internet server and Arduino micro-controller.
