  • Recently, a stability theorem for the Feynman integral as a bounded linear operator on$ L_2$($R^{d}$ /) with respect to measures whose positive and negative variations are in the generalized Kato class was proved. We study a stability theorem for the Feynman integral with respect to measures whose positive variations are in the class of $\sigma$-finite smooth measures and negative variations are in the generalized Kato class. This extends the recent result in the sense that the class of $\sigma$-finite smooth measures properly contains the generalized Kato class.

  • Let H be a separable complex H be a space and let (equation omitted)(H) be the *-algebra of all bounded linear operators on H. An operator T in (equation omitted)(H) is said to be p-hyponormal if ($T^{\ast}T)^p - (TT^{\ast})^{p}\geq$ 0 for 0 < p < 1. If p = 1, T is hyponormal and if p = $\frac{1}{2}$, T is semi-hyponormal. In this paper, by using a technique introduced by S. K. Berberian, we show that the approximate point spectrum $\sigma_{\alpha p}(T) of a pure p-hyponormal operator T is empty, and obtains the compact perturbation of T.

  • This paper is concerned with degenerate Volterra equations Mu(t) + ∫(sub)0(sup)t k(t-s) Lu(s)ds = f(t) in Banach spaces both in the hyperbolic case, and the parabolic one. The key assumption is played by the representation of the underlying space X as a direct sum X = N(T) + R(T), where T is the bounded linear operator T = ML(sup)-1. Hyperbolicity means that the part T of T in R(T) is an abstract potential operator, i.e., -T(sup)-1 generates a C(sub)0-semigroup, and parabolicity means that -T(sup)-1 generates an analytic semigroup. A maximal regularity result is obtained for parabolic equations. We will also investigate the cases where the kernel k($.$) is degenerated or singular at t=0 using the results of Pruss[8] on analytic resolvents. Finally, we consider the case where $\lambda$ is a pole for ($\lambda$L + M)(sup)-1.

  • Let n be a 2-step nilpotent Lie algebra which has an inner product <, > and has an orthogonal decomposition $n\;=z\;{\oplus}v$ for its center z and the orthogonal complement v of z. Then Each element z of z defines a skew symmetric linear map $J_z\;:\;v\;{\longrightarrow}\;v$ given by <$J_zx$, y> = for all x, $y\;{\in}\;v$. In this paper we characterize Jacobi fields and calculate all conjugate points of a simply connected 2-step nilpotent Lie group N with its Lie algebra n satisfying $J^2_z$ = A for all $z\;{\in}\;z$, where S is a positive definite symmetric operator on z and A is a negative definite symmetric operator on v.

  • This paper presents some new paranormed sequence spaces $X(r,s,t,p;{\Delta})$ where $X{\in}\{l_{\infty}(p),c(p),c_0(p),l(p)\}$ defined by using generalized means and difference operator. It is shown that these are complete linear metric spaces under suitable paranorms. Furthermore, the ${\alpha}$-, ${\beta}$-, ${\gamma}$-duals of these sequence spaces are computed and also obtained necessary and sufficient conditions for some matrix transformations from $X(r,s,t,p;{\Delta})$ to X. Finally, it is proved that the sequence space $l(r,s,t,p;{\Delta})$ is rotund when $p_n$ > 1 for all n and has the Kadec-Klee property.

  • A bounded linear operator T on a Hilbert space ${\mathcal{H}}$ is convex, if for each $x{\in}{\mathcal{H}}$, ${\parallel}T^2x{\parallel}^2-2{\parallel}Tx{\parallel}^2+{\parallel}x{\parallel}^2{\geq}0$. In this paper, it is shown that if T is convex and supercyclic then it is a contraction or an expansion. We then present some examples of convex supercyclic operators. Also, it is proved that no convex composition operator induced by an automorphism of the disc on a weighted Hardy space is supercyclic.

  • Stability of Co Semigroups perturbed via the steady state Riccati equation (SSRE) is studied. We consider an infinite dimensional system : .chi. over dot = A.chi. + Bu, in, (A), domain of A, where A is the infinitesimal generator of a Co semigroup [T(t), t.geq.0] in H. If the original Co semigroup [T(t), t.geq.0] has a lower bound : vertical bar T(t).chi. vertical bar .geq. k vertical bar .chi. vertical bar, for all .chi. in H. t.geq. 0 and k>0, then the perturbed Co semigroup via the SSRE, where the feedback operator B is compact, cannot be exponentially stable. Physical interpretation of this result is as follows : in real applications, a finite number of actuators are available, therefore the operator B is compact. When the original system is inherently unstable, that is, has an infinite number of unstable modes, the perturbed system via the SSRE cannot be stable with a uniform decay rate.

  • The operator $A \; {\in} \; L(H_{i})$, the Banach algebra of bounded linear operators on the complex infinite dimensional Hilbert space $\cal H_{i}$, is said to be p-hyponormal if $(A^\ast A)^P \geq (AA^\ast)^p$ for $p\; \in \; (0,1]$. Let (equation omitted) denote the completion of (equation omitted) with respect to some crossnorm. Let $I_{i}$ be the identity operator on $H_{i}$. Letting (equation omitted), where each $A_{i}$ is p-hyponormal, it is proved that the commuting n-tuple T = ($T_1$,..., $T_{n}$) satisfies Bishop's condition ($\beta$) and that if T is Weyl then there exists a non-singular commuting n-tuple S such that T = S + F for some n-tuple F of compact operators.

  • Let ${\mathcal{H}}$ be an infinite dimensional complex Hilbert space, and let $B({\mathcal{H}})$ be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on ${\mathcal{H}}$. Recall that an operator $T{\in}B({\mathcal{H})$ has property B(n) if ${\mid}T^n{\mid}{\geq}{\mid}T{\mid}^n$, $n{\geq}2$, which generalizes the class A-operator. We characterize the property B(n) of weighted shifts $S_{\lambda}$ over (${\eta},\;{\kappa}$)-type directed trees which appeared in the study of subnormality of weighted shifts over directed trees recently. In addition, we discuss the property B(n) of weighted shifts $S_{\lambda}$ over (2, 1)-type directed trees with nonzero weights are being distinct with respect to $n{\geq}2$. And we give some properties of weighted shifts $S_{\lambda}$ over (2, 1)-type directed trees with property B(2).

  • Apaptive cintrol of machine tool is aimed to change cutting state satis- factorily without aid of a machine operator, if the cuting state is abnomal such as formation of tangled ribbon type chip, built-up edge and generation of chattering and so on. Among these the recognition of chip type is one of the most important since it has imlications relate to : 1. Safety of operator 2. Stoppage of work due to entanglment in tool and workpiece of chip 3. Problem of producted chip control In this paper the chip type is discriminatied by the pattern recognition technique. It is found that the power spectrum of cutting force for each chip type has it's own special pattern. Linear discriminant function for the recognition of the chip type is obtained by learning process. The discriminant function can be the basis of adaptive control for the rate of success of recognition by pattern recognition technique is at leasthigher than 83%.
