서보 모터의 가감속을 고려한 NURBS 곡선의 실시간 직선 보간 (Real-time Line Interpolation of a NURBS Curve based on the Acceleration and Deceleration of a Servo Motor)

  • In this paper, a new parametric curve interpolator is proposed based on a 3D(3-dimensional) NURBS curve. A free curve is generally divided into small linear segments or circular arcs in CNC machining. The method has caused to a command error, the limitation of machining speed, and the irregular machining surface. The proposed real-time 3D NURBS interpolator continuously generates a linear segment within the range of allowable acceleration/deceleration in the motion controller. Therefore, the algorithm calculates the curvature and the remained distance of a command curve for the smoothing machining. It is expected to attaining high speed and high precision machining in CNC Machine Tool.

Edge Adaptive Hierarchical Interpolation for Lossless and Progressive Image Transmission

  • Based on the quincunx sub-sampling grid, the New Interleaved Hierarchical INTerpolation (NIHINT) method is recognized as a superior pyramid data structure for the lossless and progressive coding of natural images. In this paper, we propose a new image interpolation algorithm, Edge Adaptive Hierarchical INTerpolation (EAHINT), for a further reduction in the entropy of interpolation errors. We compute the local variance of the causal context to model the strength of a local edge around a target pixel and then apply three statistical decision rules to classify the local edge into a strong edge, a weak edge, or a medium edge. According to these local edge types, we apply an interpolation method to the target pixel using a one-directional interpolator for a strong edge, a multi-directional adaptive weighting interpolator for a medium edge, or a non-directional static weighting linear interpolator for a weak edge. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves a better compression bit rate than the NIHINT method for lossless image coding. It is shown that the compression bit rate is much better for images that are rich in directional edges and textures. Our algorithm also shows better rate-distortion performance and visual quality for progressive image transmission.

비선형왜곡감소를 위한 보간 적용 전치왜곡기 연구 (A predistorter using interpolator for reduction of nonlinear distortion)

  • This paper proposes LUT based predistorter using interpolater to reduce nonlinear distortion which was generated by HPA. We minimized performance degradation from the reduced LUT size with linear interpolation. We updated LUT using LMS algorithm using input data as reference data. As a result, it is shown that when the size of the LUT is 8, linear interpolation is the most outstanding performance in the view of performance and H/W complexity.

  • Microprocessor-based software DDA interpolator is developed and applied to two axis contouring control of X-Y table. Developed assembly program is composed of feedrate, linear and circular DDA interpolation routines. Reference-pulse type of open-loop stepping motor control system in which the micro-computer produces a sequence of reference pulses for each axis of motion is adopted. To test performance of the developed program, X-Y table drive system based on stepping motor and shaft encoder is designed. Contouring error of the system in linear and circular path is within .+-.0.2 mm.

  • Increasing demands on precision machining have necessitated the tool to move not only position error as small as possible, but also with smoothly varying feedrates. Because of the lack of accurate and efficient algorithms for generation of 3-dimensional lines and circles, a full accomlishment for available machine tool resolution is generally unavailable. In this paper, a reference-pulse type 3-axis PC_NC milling system is developed for the precision machining of complex shapes in 3-dimensional space. Three AC servomotors are used as the actuator instead of the hand wheel to operate a 3-axis milling machine under the same mechanical structure. A PC is used to handle the control signal calculation for various types of motion command. To achieve the synchronous 3-axis motion, a real-time reference-pulse 3-dimensional linear and circular interpolator based on the intersection criteria is developed in software. The performance test via computer simulation and actual machining have shown that the PC-NC milling system is useful for the machining of arbitrary lines and circles in 3-dimensional space.

  • 본 연구에서는 직선보간과 원호보간에서 계산효율을 향상시킬 수 있는 방법을 제시하여 이 방법과 가감속 구간을 고려한 하드웨어 보간기를 설계 및 제작하였고, 이 것을 스텝 모터에 의해 구동되는 밀링머시인에 연결하여 보간기의 성능을 알아보았다.

  • In this paper, we present an improved novel interpolator that performs high quality interpolation on both synthetic and real world images. Its structure, which is based on a four directional linear predictor with equiripple windowed samples and phase matching equalizer, provides edge-directional data interpolation so that sharp and artifacts-free images are obtained at a reasonable computational cost.

Channel Transfer Function Estimation based on Delay and Doppler Profile for Underwater Acoustic OFDM Communication System

  • In this paper, we proposed Channel Transfer Function estimation based on Delay and Doppler Profile for underwater acoustic OFDM communication system. It improved the estimation accuracy of the channel transfer function by linear time interpolation the change of Scattered Pilot (SP) insertion frequency in the time direction and the time by Delay and Doppler profile that analyzes the multipath situation of the channel investigated the performance of interpolation by simulation and report it. Previous works is inserted SP every 4 OFDM. It was effective under the environment without multipath, but it has observed that the effect of CTF compensation has been lowered in multipath channel condition. In addition to be better when inserted SP every 2 OFDM. But the amount of sending data will be decrease. Therefore, we conducted research to improve 4 OFDM with new interpolator. A computer simulation was performed as a comparison of SP inserted every 4 OFDM, SP inserted every 2 OFDM, and 4 OFDM with new interpolator. the performance of the proposed system is overwhelmingly improved, and the performance is slightly improved even 64 QAM.

  • Software linear and exponential acceleration/deceleration algorithms for control of machine axes of motion in industrial robots and CNC machine tools are proposed. Typical hardware systems used to accelerate and decelerate axes of motion are mathematically analyzed. Discrete-time state equations are derived from the mathematical analyses for the development of software acceleration/deceleration algorithms. Synchronous control method of multiple axes of motion in industrial robots and CNC machine tools is shown to be easily obtained on the basis of the proposed acceleration/deceleration algorithms. The path error analyses are carried out for the case where the software linear and exponential acceleration/deceleration algorithms are applied to a circular interpolator. A motion control system based on a floating point digital signal processor (DSP) TMS 320C30 is developed in order to implement the proposed algorithms. Experimental results demonstrate that the developed algorithms and the motion control system are available for control of multiple axes and nonlinear motion composed of a combination of lines and circles which industrial robots and CNC machine tools require.

  • 본 논문에서는 software defined radio(SDR) 등의 디지털 RF/IF(Intermediate Frequency)에 사용되는 CIC 필터의 처짐 현상을 위한 보상 필터를 제안한다. 제안된 보상 필터는 근사적 선형 위상 특성을 가지며, interpolator/decimator의 기저 대역에서 가장 낮은 레이트로 동작하는 2차의 필터이므로 저연산량을 요구하므로 비용 효율적이다. 또한 처짐 현상을 보상하면서도 저지대역에서는 성능 열화가 거의 발생하지 않는다 예제를 통한 설계 및 성능 분석 결과, 제안된 보상 방법을 적용한 통신 시스템에 있어서 성능 향상을 보였고, 기존의 보상 방법과 비교하여 성능 및 메모리 사용량, 연산량에서 우수함을 보였다.
