자동차 차체용 SPEC590강 레이저 용접판재의 피로특성 (Fatigue Characteristics of SPFC590 Laser Welded Sheet Metal for Automobile Body Panel)

  • Experimental research has been carried out to investigate the characteristics of the fatigue crack initiation and propagation behavior of Tailor Welded Blank(TB) sheet used for vehicle body. We used three types of specimens which were machined of the same base metal: one is 1.4mm thick, another is 1.6mm thick, and the third(TB specimen) is laser-welded of two specimens(1.4mm and 1.6mm thick ones). The results of tensile and hardness test indicate that the yield strength of the TB specimen is the highest, and the hardness around welding bead is higher than that of base metal. Fatigue strength and fatigue limit of the TB specimen are much superior to those of the base metal up to $10^6$ cycles. The fatigue crack propagation of the heat-affected zone of the TB specimen is slower than that of the base metal. Welding bead has the fastest crack Propagation in the low stress intensity factor range$(\DeltaK)$ region, but the slowest in the high $\DeltaK$ region. The fatigue propagation characteristic of the TB specimen is relatively stable in comparison with that of the base metal in the high ${\Delta}K$ region around over $28MPa\sqrt{m}$.

전압증가 시 재폐로 동작에 따른 변압기형 초전도 한류기의 특성 분석 (Characteristics on the Transformer-Type SFCL According to Reclosing Operation the Voltage Increase)

  • Fault current in power system is expected to increase by demand of power capacity. Therefore, when the fault occurred, fault current was increased in the power system. Many studies have been progressed to limit the fault current. Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is one of them which has been studied in worldwide. In this paper, we will analyze characteristics of a transformer-type SFCL by reclosing operation when the voltage increases. Twice opening times in the reclosing of circuit breaker were set as the 0.5 and 15 seconds, respectively. Turn's number of primary and secondary coils set 4:2 and we increased voltages from 120V to 280V for each experiment. By the current waveform, maximum fault current in second and third cycles was lowered when the voltage was increased. In the recovery waveform, recovery time was increased as the voltage was increased. The reason was that power burden of the SFCL increased when consumption power was increased, so the time to get back to SFCL took longer. We compared the characteristics of a resistive-type and transformer-type SFCL. As a result, we found that the fault current of a transformer-type was lower than resistive-type and recovery time of the SFCL was shorter. Consequently, transformer-type SFCL was more profitable for limitation of fault current and recovery time under the same condition for reclosing operation.

  • Mechanical components are to be produced with accurate dimensions in order to function properly in assemblies of a machine. Once designs of mechanical components are created, designers examine the designs by adopting many known experimental methods. A primary test method includes stress and strain evaluation of structural parts. In addition, fatigue test and vibration analysis are an important test method for mechanical components. Real experiments at a laboratory are established when products are manufactured. Since design changes should be done before producing the designs in factories, rapid modifications for new designs are required in production industries. FEM simulation is a proper choice for a design evaluation with speed at a detail stage in design process. This research focuses modeling and mechanical simulation of a mechanical component in order to ensure structural safety. In this paper, a universal joint, being used in driving axels of vehicles, is studied as a target component. A design model is created and tested in some ways by using commercial software of FEM. The designed component is being twisted to transmit heavy power and thus, torsional stress should be under strengths of the component's material. The next is fatigue analysis to convince fatigue cycles to be within the endurance limit of the material. Another test is a vibration analysis for rotational components. This research draws final conclusions from these test analyses and recommends whether the designed model is under safety condition in terms of mechanical structure.

Flow Characteristics Analysis for the Chemical Decontamination of the Kori-1 Nuclear Power Plant

  • Chemical decontamination of primary systems in a nuclear power plant (NPP) prior to commencing the main decommissioning activities is required to reduce radiation exposure during its process. The entire process is repeated until the desired decontamination factor is obtained. To achieve improved decontamination factors over a shorter time with fewer cycles, the appropriate flow characteristics are required. In addition, to prepare an operating procedure that is adaptable to various conditions and situations, the transient analysis results would be required for operator action and system impact assessment. In this study, the flow characteristics in the steady-state and transient conditions for the chemical decontamination operations of the Kori-1 NPP were analyzed and compared via the MARS-KS code simulation. Loss of residual heat removal (RHR) and steam generator tube rupture (SGTR) simulations were conducted for the postulated abnormal events. Loss of RHR results showed the reactor coolant system (RCS) temperature increase, which can damage the reactor coolant pump (RCP)s by its cavitation. The SGTR results indicated a void formation in the RCS interior by the decrease in pressurizer (PZR) pressure, which can cause surface exposure and tripping of the RCPs unless proper actions are taken before the required pressure limit is achieved.

Determination of Ag(I) at a Chemically Modified Electrode Based on 2-Imino-cyclopentane-dithiocarboxylic Acid

  • Chemically modified electrodes(CMEs), based on 2-imino-1-cyclopentane-dithiocarboxylic acid (icdc) containing carbon paste, have been characterized using cyclic voltammetric techniques. Ag(I) was chemically deposited on the CMEs, and voltammograms were obtained with the electrode in a separate buffer solution. The CME surface can be regenerated with exposure to acid and reused for deposition. In 10 deposition/measurement/regenerate cycles, the linear response have been reproduced up to $1{\times}10^{-6}$ M in linear sweep voltammetry and 1${\times}$10-8 M in differential pulse voltammetry with relative standard deviation of 5.2% and 12.4%, respectiveiy. The sensitivity increased with deposition time and scanning rate, and detection limit was $1{\times}10^{-7}M\;and\;1{\times}10^{-9}M$ at 20 minutes deposition in the linear sweep voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry, respectively. The presence of some metal ions does not influence the silver ion response. Satisfactory results were obtained for the analysis of the silver ion for a variety of reference materials without interference of Hg ion at the condition of pH = 5-6.

Experimental behaviour of circular concrete filled steel tube columns under lateral cyclic loading

  • This study experimentally explored the behaviour of 12 concrete filled steel tube (CFST) and steel tube columns subjected to lateral cyclic loading. The L/D ratio was 12.3 while D/t ratios were 45.4, 37.8 and 32.4, classifying these 12 specimens into 3 groups. Each group included 3 CFST and 1 steel tube columns and were tested to failure. The experimental results indicated that CFST specimens reached the state of 'collapse prevention' (drift 4%) prior to the occurrence of local buckling. Strength degradation of CFST specimens did not occur up to the failure by buckling. This showed the favourable characteristic of CFST columns in preventing collapse of structures subjected to earthquakes. The high energy absorption capability in the post collapse limit state was appropriate for dissipating energy in structures. Compared to steel tube columns, CFST columns delayed local buckling and prevented inward buckling. Consequently, CFST columns exhibited their outstanding seismic performance in terms of the increased ultimate resistance, capacity to sustain 2-3 additional load cycles and significantly higher drift. A simple and reasonably accurate model was proposed to predict the ultimate strength of CFST columns under lateral cyclic loading.

2겹 및 3겹 벨로우즈 신축배관이음의 휨 변형에 대한 내진성능평가 (Seismic Performance Evaluation on Bending Deformation of 2-Ply and 3-Ply Bellows Expansion Pipe Joints)

  • 배관의 변형 능력을 향상할 수 있는 지진분리이음의 적용은 내진성능을 향상할 수 있는 효과적인 방법이다. 축 방향의 팽창 및 수축, 휨 변형에 대한 능력이 있는 지진분리이음은 변형이 예상되는 위치에 설치하여 배관을 안전하게 보호하기 위한 목적으로 사용된다. 벨로우즈는 유연하며 강성이 낮으므로 큰 변형에 대응하는 능력이 뛰어나기 때문에 지진분리이음으로 사용할 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 2겹 및 3겹 벨로우즈 시험체의 휨 변형에 대한 내진성능과 한계상태를 평가하였다. 내진성능은 지진하중으로 인한 저주기 피로를 고려하기 위하여 점진반복하중을 적용하여 평가하였다. 평가된 내진성능의 한계상태에 대한 여유도를 확인하기 위하여 일정한 진폭의 반복하중을 적용한 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 벨로우즈 시험체는 스테인리스 강재로 제작되어 연신율이 높아 3겹 벨로우즈 시험체의 최대 가력 변위에서도 2겹 벨로우즈 시험체는 3 사이클 이내로 저항하는 한계성능을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

콘크리트구조물의 반복적 동결융해에 대한 수치 해석적 열화 예측 및 신뢰성 모델 개발 (Development of Deterioration Prediction Model and Reliability Model for the Cyclic Freeze-Thaw of Concrete Structures)

  • 다공성 시스템 내부 동결체의 생성과 성장은 온도경사와 화학적 에너지뿐만 아니라 열 물리학적 영향과 이동 물질에 의해서도 영향을 받는다. 더욱이 융해 화학물질의 확산율은 반복적인 동경융해 환경 하에서 매우 높은 값을 나타낸다. 결과적으로 콘크리트구조물의 열화는 해양환경과, 높은 고도 및 북쪽 지방에서 특히 크게 발생된다. 그러나 균열 성장과 누적된 손상에 의한 열화를 동반한 동결융해의 특성은 실험을 통해서 추정하기가 곤란하다. 이러한 손상을 예측하기 위해서 응답면기법 (RSM)을 이용한 회귀분석법을 사용하였다. 콘크리트구조물에서 반복되는 동결융해로 인한 열화의 주요 변수인 물-시멘트비, 연행공기, 동결융해의 반복 횟수 등은 응답면기법의 한계상태방정식을 구성하는데 중요한 입력 변수로 사용되었다. 누적변형률, 상대동탄성계수, 또는 등가 소성변형과 같은 주요한 열화 변수에 대한 회귀방정식은 열화된 구조물의 성능을 평가할 수 있다. 300번의 동결융해 반복 후의 상대동탄성계수와 잔류변형의 결과는 실험 결과와 매우 유사한 경향을 나타내었다. 응답면기법의 결과는 설계 시 한계값에 대한 초과 확률을 예측하는데 사용되어질 수 있다. 그러므로 개발된 예측 기법을 활용하여 반복적인 동결융해에 의해서 누적 손상을 받는 콘크리트구조물의 생애주기 관리에 사용될 수 있다.

수중용접한 국산 SM41A-2강판의 편진반복 인장하중하의 피로강도특성에 관한 연구 (Study on tension-tension fatigue strength properties of underwater welded joints of SM41A-2 Plate-to-Plate)

  • Nowadays, the high development of industrial technique demands the optimal design of marine structures to be welded under the water, because the underwater welding of the ship hull and marine structures can decrease manpower and cost of production. However there is not available at present any report on fatigue behavior about underwater welded joints. In this paper under tention- tension repeated fatigue stress with frequency of 10 cycles per second by local controlled system, the fatigue strength properties of underwater welded joints of SM41A-2 Plate-to-Plate of 10 mm thickness were experimentally examined. The results obtained were as follows : 1) The fatigue strength of underwater welded joints of SM41A-2 was peaked at the heat input of about 1, 400 joule/mm(180 A, 36 V), while, at the heat input of more than about 1, 100 joule/mm (160 A, 33 V) that of the underwater welds at the higher than cycle of life rather than the lower cycle was higher than that of the base metal but lower than that of the atmosphere welds on account of both cooling and notch effects. 2) The fatigue limit of underwater welds increased with an increase of heat input resulting in a peak of that at the heat input of about 1, 400 joule/mm and then decreased gradually. 3) The fatigue strength at N cycles was peaked between the heat input of about 1, 400 and 1, 700 joule/mm where the strain was rapidly increased. 4) It was confirmed that the optimal zone of heat input condition for obtaining the underwater welds fatigue strength higher than that of the base metal exists, and if out of this zone, the fatigue strength of the underwater welds was lower than that of the base metal because of lack weld penetration, inclusion of slag, voids, etc. 5) By the fatigue test, the underwater welds fractured brittly without visual deformation, so the strain was remarkably less than of the atmosphere welds. 6) The fatigue life factor was peaked at the heat input of about 1, 600 joule/mm (200 A, 36 V) at which the mean strain is a little higher than that of the base metal but quite lower than those of the atmosphere welds, resulting in good underwater welds because both fatigue strength and ductility of the underwater welds are higher than those of the base metal at such heat input.

순환골재 알카리 저감장치의 현장 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of Recycled Aggregate Alkalinity Reducing Facility in the Field)

  • 건설폐기물이 매년 증가함에 따라 제도적으로 건설폐기물을 재활용한 순환골재의 사용을 촉진하게 되었고, 이에 따라 현장에 순환골재의 사용이 증가되었다. 그러나 순환골재의 알카리수 용출에 의한 환경적 문제가 발생하게 되었고, 이를 저감시킬 방안에 대한 연구가 요구되었다. 본 연구는 순환골재의 알카리저감을 위한 방안으로 촉진탄산화 반응을 이용한 알카리 저감장치를 제작하여 순환골재 생산현장에 설치하고, 대량의 순환골재를 대상으로 알카리저감효과 및 품질의 영향을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 탄산화 반응시간 30초, 반응압력 -50 kPa에서 100 kPa까지 3싸이클의 압력변화를 주는 조건에서, 순환골재 pH는 9.33에서 9.8의 범위 내를 유지하였다. 또한 순환골재의 물리적 품질은 탄산화 반응 전보다 반응 후의 소성지수, 수정 CBR, 마모감량, 모래당량, 액성한계, 입도분포, 밀도 및 흡수율이 개선되는 것으로 나타났다.
