식품산업에 있어서 포장두부의 전과정평가 사례연구 (Case Study on the Life Cycle Assessment of the Packaged Bean-curd in Food Industry)

  • This study has been analyzed an execution example of the life cycle assessment on the packaged bean-curd of P company, the first case of the regular life cycle assessment on the processed foods in Korea and considered on the significance and directions of the life cycle assessment on the foods. It is possible to divide the potential environmental impact through the life cycle of the bean-curd into six categories and analyze the environmental impact on the production, use and disposal phases of the product. The values of each environmental impact have been quantified from the strength of the potential impact fur the corresponding category of impact. In the future, it is expected that the result of the lift cycle assessment will be increasingly used fur many areas such as Climate Change Convention and ISO22000, etc. and it is required to promote a project to make database through the assessment on the individual corps or types of businesses for it from now on.

전동차 의자의 재질에 따른 환경부하 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Environmental Impact with the Seat Material of Electric Motor Unit (EMU))

  • Environmental problem is one of important global issues. Transportations are main pollutant emission sources. Although railroad is stilt an environmental-friendly transportation, its environmental impact has been increased continuously. Especially, because a large amount of environmental impact is released from vehicles and facilities, it is necessary to assess and to reduce their environmental impact. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a representative method which can evaluate environment impact through the whole life cycle of a product or a process. In this study, the environmental impact of seat in the electric motor unit (EMU) was analyzed quantitatively with its material using lift cycle assessment (LCA). As a result, the characteristics of environmental impact were investigated differently with the material of seat. Among ten impact categories, the seat with aluminum and FRP showed the highest ozone depletion (OD). On the other hand, in the seat with stainless steel and plastic, fresh water aquatic ecotoxicity (FAET) and marine water aquatic ecotoxicity (MAET) were high relatively. Therefore, the parts of EMU must be selected considering the characteristics of environmental impact in future.

입환기관차의 LCC 평가분석 (Life-Cost-Cycle Evaluation Analysis of the Shunting Locomotive)

  • The deterioration of a shunting locomotive was characterized for the lifetime assessment. The locomotive has been used for shunting works in steel making processes, and in this investigation, various types of technical evaluation methods for the locomotive parts were employed to assess the current deterioration status and to provide important clue for lifetime prediction. Unlike other rolling stocks in railway applications, the diesel shunting locomotive is composed of major components such as diesel engine, transmission, gear box, brake system, electronic devices, etc., which cover more than 70 percent of the total price of the locomotive. Therefore, in this paper, each part of major components in the diesel locomotive was analyzed in terms of the degree of deterioration. The lift-cycle-cost (LCC) analysis was performed based on the maintenance and repair history as compared with economical cost to provide the cost-effective prediction, i.e., to assess either repair for reuse or putting the locomotive out of service based on cost-effective calculation.

LCA와 DfE기법을 이용한 친환경적인 지게차 제조공정의 설계 (Design of Environmentally Sound Manufacturing Process of Fork Lift using LCA and DfE Methodology)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내외에서 법적, 제도적 측면의 외적 정비뿐만 아니라, 학계 및 산업계의 제품별 사례분석 및 적용 측면에서 활발한 연구가 진행되고 있는 LCA와 DfE기법을 제조공정에 적용하였다. 구체적으로, 지게차 제조공정을 대상으로 LCA 기법을 적용하여 환경부하가 가장 큰 제조공정을 규명하고, 그 공정에 DfE 기법을 적용하여 친환경적인 제조공정을 설계하였다. 지게차 제조공정에 대해 LCA를 수행한 결과, 영향범주별로는 생태독성과 인간독성에 대해, 그리고 공정별로는 제관공정과 도장공정에서 환경부하가 크게 나타났다. 제관공정에서 환경부하를 줄이기는 현실적으로 어렵기 때문에, 도장공정에서 발생하는 환경부하를 저감하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 지게차의 도장공정에 기존에 사용하고 있는 용제형 도료의 고형분 함량을 늘려 high solid형 도료를 개발하여 적용한 결과, 환경영향(LCA의 환경영향지수)가 20% 저감되었다. 또한, VOC발생량은 약 32%, 도료 사용량은 약 20%의 저감효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 이 연구에서는 전과정평가 방법을 토대로 국내 가동중인 대표적 발전기술들의 글로벌 환경성을 평가하였다. 전과정평가 방법론은 환경영향을 평가하는데 있어 유용성이 뛰어난 도구이다. 대표적 발전원들은 국내 전력공급의 $90\%$ 정도를 차지하고 있는 원자력, 유연탄, LNC 발전소로 하였고, 여기에 더하여 재생 에너지원 중 대표 격인 풍력발전 기술로 하였다. 환경영향 평가는 지구 지역, 부지의 환경에 영향을 미치는 8개의 영향범주를 설정한 후, 발전원별 환경영향을 평가하기 위해 특성화 영향 지표를 계산하였고, 영향범주간 상대적 중요성을 비교하기 위해 정규화 영향 지표도 평가되었다.

  • In modern automotive control modules, mechanical failures of surface mounted electronic components such as microprocessors, crystals, capacitors, transformers, inductors, and ball grid array packages, etc., are mai or roadblocks to design cycle time and product reliability. This paper presents a general methodology of failure analysis and fatigue prediction of these electronic components under automotive vibration environments. Mechanical performance of these packages is studied through finite element modeling approach fur given vibration environments in automotive application. Using the results of vibration simulation, fatigue lift is predicted based on cumulative damage analysis and material durability information. Detailed model of solder/lead joints is built to correlate the system level model and obtain solder strains/stresses. The primary focus in this paper is on surface-mount interconnect fatigue failures and the critical component selected for this analysis is 80 pin plastic leaded microprocessor.
