Development of the vac Source Profile using Collinearity Test in the Yeosu Petrochemical Complex (여수석유화학산단의 공선성 시험을 이용한 VOC 오염원 분류표 개발)

  • The total of 35 target VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which were included in the TO-14, was selected to develop a VOCs' source profile matrix of the Yeosu Petrochemical Complex and to test its collinearity by singular value decomposition(SVD) technique. The VOCs collected in canisters were sampled from 12 different sources such as 8 direct emission sources (refinery, painting, wastewater treatment plant, incinerator, petrochemical processing, oil storage, fertilizer plant, and iron mill) and 4 general area sources (gasoline vapor emission, graphic art activity, vehicle emission, and asphalt paving activity) in this study area, and then those samples were analyzed by GC/MS. Initially the resulting raw data for each profile were scaled and normalized through several data treatment steps, and then specific VOCs showing major weight fractions were intensively reviewed and compared by introducing many other related studies. Next, all of the source profiles were tested in terms of degree of collinearity by SVD technique. The study finally could provide a proper VOCs' source profile in the study area, which can give opportunities to apply various receptor models properly including chemical mass balance (CMB).

Coating of heat-acupuncture needle using an $Al_2O_3$ material to improve a heat insulation (한방침의 단열효과를 위한 $Al_2O_3$를 이용한 코팅연구)

  • In this research, heat-acupuncture needle was coated with $Al_2O_3$ by applying a plasma spray coating method to prevent a skin burn. $Al_2O_3$, which is one of the representative bioceramics, does not have an influence on the chemical change in the body system. The ceramic coating thickness was about $100{\mu}m$. The experiments of heat conduction were performed for uncoated needle and coated needle. The results showed that the surface temperature of needle decreased as the needle was coated with $Al_2O_3$. The surface temperature of uncoated needle was about $48^{\circ}C$, while that of needle coated with $Al_2O_3$ was about $39^{\circ}C$.

  • Aims of subject specialist librarian's education is an improvement of their professionalism which could reinforce librarians' ability to achieve their speciality. The curriculum should be competency based one which could gain knowledge and skills to accomplish subject librarian services. The study aims to suggest competency based curriculum that is needed for specialist librarian's work. The study proposes six educational courses and fifteen subjects. Six courses are as followings: resource development, information services, library marketing, user education, subject research, and library administration.

  • A radio frequency(R/F) switch connector is widely used in wireless devices such as mobile phone and navigator to check defects of the circuit board of product. The R/F switch connector shell plays a role in protecting the switch connector. Previously, this part was machined using a turning, which is time-consuming and has poor material utilization. Furthermore, the workpiece material of brass containing lead that has excellent machinability has environmentally regulated during recent years. The purpose of the current study was to develop the connector shell by forming through progressive dies including embossing, burring and forging process in order to achieve higher productivity and dimensional accuracy without tool failure. To accomplish this objective, a strip layout was designed and finite element (FE) analysis was performed for each step in the process. Try-out for the connector shell was conducted using progressive die design based on FE-analysis results. Dimensional accuracy of developed part was investigated by scanning electron microscopy. The result of the investigation for the dimensions of the formed connector shell showed that the required dimensional accuracy was satisfied. Moreover, productivity using the progressive die increased four times compared to previous machining process.

  • The purpose of this study is to strive people from expert and to make efforts to prevent the recurrence of government after su-chel, kim case. it is put out school strengthened safety measures continuously however external danger has increased. It is necessary to prevent revaluation of safety measures and improvement go through take the most basic safety measures, changing awareness to the external danger and reduce the loss to a minimum. There are some resolution to be effective management of guard and way to expand, application of CPTED technique and installation of school fence, liaison between increasing CCTV and equipment, improvement on operational school safety management.

Rotor Blade Sweep Effect on the Performance of a Small Axial Supersonic Impulse Turbine

  • In this paper, a computational study was conducted in order to investigate the rotor blade sweep effect on the aerodynamics of a small axial supersonic impulse turbine stage. For this purpose, three-dimensional unsteady RANS simulations have been performed with three different rotor blade sweep angles ($-15^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$, $+15^{\circ}$) and the results were compared with each other. Both NTG (No tip gap) and WTG (With tip gap) models were applied to examine the effect on tip leakage flow. As a result of the simulation, the positive sweep model ($+15^{\circ}$) showed better performance in relative flow angle, Mach number distribution, entropy rise, and tip leakage mass flow rate compared with no sweep model. With the blade static pressure distribution result, the positive sweep model showed that hub and tip loading was increased and midspan loading was reduced compared with no sweep model while the negative sweep model ($-15^{\circ}$) showed the opposite result. The positive sweep model also showed a good aerodynamic performance around the hub region compared with other models. Overall, the positive sweep angle enhanced the turbine efficiency.

  • Enantiopure styrene oxide derivatives are versatile building blocks for the synthesis of enantiopure pharmaceuticals. Styrene monooxygenase (SMO) catalyzes an asymmetric addition of an oxygen atom into a double bond of vinylaromatic compounds. SMO is a commercially potential biocatalyst to synthesize a variety of enantiopure epoxides with high enantiopurity and recovery yield. In this paper development of SMO biocatalyst and commercial feasibility of SMO-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis of enantiopure stylers oxide derivatives are reviewed.

A Numerical Analysis on the Flow Characteristics and the Collection Efficiency for Fine Particles in a Cyclone (사이클론 내 유동특성 및 미세입자 집진효율에 대한 수치해석적 연구)

  • A numerical analysis has been carried out to examine the flow characteristics and the collection efficiency for fine particles in a cyclone using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technique. The cyclone with the cylinder diameter of 60 mm has been considered for the investigation of the particle collection in a relatively smaller cyclone with somewhat higher inlet air velocities. Fundamental air flow patterns for different inlet velocities have been calculated and then the motions of particles of different sizes have been obtained. The calculated collection efficiencies for fine particles are compared with the experimental results, which shows a good agreement. The current result can be used for the design of cyclones with high collection efficiency.

Effect of Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth and Lead on Passivation Behavior of Copper Anode (As, Sb, Bi, Pb가 조동의 부동태에 미치는 영향)

  • The passivity behavior of copper anode containing impurities in copper sulfate solution for electrorefining process was studied at several different levels of impurities such as As, Sb, Bi and Pb. The passivity behavior was investigated by electrochemical techniques (galvanostatic, potentiodynamic and cyclic voltammetry tests) and surface analysis (optical microscopy, electron probe microanalysis, scanning electron microscopy). The results were that arsenic, antimony inhibited passivation and bismuth accelerated it and lead containing anode showed different passivity behavior from above anodes. The improved passivity characteristics could be explained by decrease in oxygen content in passivity film which resulted from a reaction among the impurities, oxygen and copper in the anode. The SEM image revealed that arsenic or antimony containing anode exhibited a porous passivity film and bismuth containing anode showed the compact passivity film and lead containing anode had loose passivity film on anode.

The Effects of Celebrity's Traits on Media Engagement, Advertising Effect and Purchasing Intention in Food Service Industry (외식기업의 유명인 모델 속성이 미디어 인게이지먼트, 광고효과 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The aim of this study was to examine the role of celebrity's traits on food service enterprises' media engagement, advertising effect (AD effect) and purchasing intention. Based on advance research, structural model of relationship between celebrity's traits and media engagement, AD effect and promotion of purchase was developed among the proposed constructs. Few empirical studies have been conducted to test the model. Date collection of study was from June 1st, 2017 to June 30th, distributing total of 300 issues and collecting total of 290 issues. Total of 271 questionnaires were used as the final analysis data as the nineteen questionnaires included missing information. The results can be summarized as follows: Celebrity's Traits significantly affected media engagement, AD effect and purchasing intentions. More specifically, mediating effect among the celebrity's traits and AD effect which came from media engagement was valid only if the subject of advertising effectiveness was on brands attitude. Based on the findings, theoretical and managerial implications were discussed to make one conclusion. As the media engagement was identified as a mediator between celebrity's traits and AD effect, certain brands which tend to enhance their AD effectivity should liaison proper celebrity.
