It is very important to determine link composition of a crane in the basic design of the crane. There are many parameters in the design for the link composition of a double link type level luffing jib crane. We analyze the variation of link composition according to the variation of these parameters which are the angle of fixed link, the angle between the fixed link and backstay when the position of the crane is the maximum working radius, the ratio of fly jib length between two moving hinges to the total length of fly jib, the length of backstay, and the slewing radius. In this paper, we describe the application of the previous analysis program of the link composition design for a double link type level luffing jib crane.

Harmonic effects of the induction rioter with different air gap length driven by the 6 step voltage of inverter ate investigated. And the results of the characteristic analysis on the inverter fed induction motor are compared with those of sinusoidal voltage fed motor.
A cylindrical pin fin with inside fluid is optimized based on fixed fin volume by using the one dimensional analytic method. Heat loss from the fin and the pin fin radius for fixed fin volume is presented as a function of the fin length. Temperature variation of the fin with the variation of ambient and inside fluid convection characteristic numbers and fin base thickness is listed. The maximum heat loss at the practical fin length and corresponding optimum fin length and radius are presented as a function of fin base thickness, inside convection characteristic number, fin volume and ambient convection characteristic number. One of the results shows that the optimum pin fin shape becomes relatively fatter as the fin volume increases.

A comparison is made of the heat loss from a hollow cylinder, computed using an one-dimensional analytic method and a two-dimensional separation of variables scheme. For a two-dimensional analysis, the temperature of the inner surface as a boundary condition can be varied along the length of the cylinder by varing the temperature variation factor, b. Comparisons of the heat loss from the hollow cylinder using these two methods are given as a function of non-dimensional cylinder length, the ratio of the outer radius to the inner radius, temperature variation factor and Biot number. The result shows that the value of the heat loss from the hollow cylinder obtained using the one-dimensional analytic method becomes close to the value given by the two-dimensional separation of variables scheme as the value of Biot number and the non-dimensional hollow cylinder length increase and as the ratio of the outer radius to the inner radius decreases.

Variation of dynamic characteristics of a low pressure turbine blade with crack length is studied in this paper via both experiments and finite element model. Since most of the turbine blades used in domestic power plants are imported from abroad, it is necessary to understand their dynamic behavior in advance. When experimentally obtained natural frequencies and mode shapes are compared with those from FEM results, they are close to each other in their magnitude. Then, it is more feasible to use finite element model for analyzing the dynamic characteristics of a blade under various operation conditions (rotation speed, temperature, etc) as well as with a crack in the blade.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences of visual effects by variations in the shoulder length and puff volume of the puff sleeve blouse. The stimuli are 21 samples: 3 variations of the shoulder length and 7 variations of the puff volume. The data has been obtained from 40 fashion design majors. The data has analyzed by Frequency, Factor Analysis, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and MCA method. The result of the study are as follows. The visual effects by the shoulder length and puff volume are composed of 4 factors : the width of the upper body, the shape of the breast part, the shape of the neck part and the shape of the upper arm. In these factors, the width of the upper body is estimated by most important factor. In view of the visual effects by variation of the shoulder length, the shorter shoulder length goes, the more positive visual image comes in the shape of the breast part. In comparison of the differences of visual effects by the 7 variations of puff volume, the arm looks thin and long when the puff volume goes enough and the breast part has a better visual assesment in case the puff volume goes poor. In the interaction effects between the shoulder length and puff volume, the shoulder length have significant differences in the shape of the breast part, the shape of the neck part and the shape of the upper arm and puff volume has significant difference in the width of the upper body.
Phenotypic characterization and body biometric in 13 traits (height at withers, body length, chest girth, paunch girth, ear length, tail length, length of tail up to switch, face length, face width, horn length, circumference of horn at base, distances between pin bone and hip bone) were recorded in 233 adult Gojri buffaloes from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh states of India. Traits were analysed by using varimax rotated principal component analysis (PCA) with Kaiser Normalization to explain body conformation. PCA revealed four components which explained about 70.9% of the total variation. First component described the general body conformation and explained 31.5% of total variation. It was represented by significant positive high loading of height at wither, body length, heart girth, face length and face width. The communality ranged from 0.83 (hip bone distance) to 0.45 (horn length) and unique factors ranged from 0.16 to 0.55 for all these 13 different biometric traits. Present study suggests that first principal component can be used in the evaluation and comparison of body conformation in buffaloes and thus provides an opportunity to distinguish between early and late maturing to adult, based on a small group of biometric traits to explain body conformation in adult buffaloes.

This paper presents an approach to define an optimal piezoactuator length to actively control structural vibration. The optimal ratio of the piezoactuator length against beam length when a pair of piezoceramic actuator and accelerometer is used to suppress unwanted vibration with direct velocity feedback (DVFB) control strategy is not clearly defined so far. It is well known that direct velocity feedback (DVFB) control can be very useful when a pair of sensor and actuator is collocated on structures with a high gain and excellent stability. It is considered that three different collocated pairs of piezoelectric actuators (20, 50 and 100 mm) and accelerometers installed on three identical clamped-clamped beams (300 * 20 * 1 mm). The response of each sensor-actuator pair requires strictly positive real (SPR) property to apply a high feedback gain. However the length of the piezoactuator affects SPR property of the sensor-actuator response. Intensive simulation and experiment shows the effect of the actuator length variation is strongly related with the frequency range of SPR property. A shorter actuator gave a wider SPR frequency range as a longer one had a narrower range. The shorter actuator showed limited control performance in spite of a higher gain was applied because the actuation force was relatively small. Thus an optimal length ratio (actuator length/beam length) was suggested to obtain relevant performance with good stability with DVFB strategy. The result of this investigation could give important information in the design of active control system to suppress unwanted vibration of smart structures with piezoelectric actuators and accelerometers.

This study developed a functional dress shirt for adult males that reflected the body surface variation of a human body section by motion. This study conducted a 3D body scan for 8 subjects in their 40's based on the Size Korea 2010 database. Data recorded the proper posture change value and body surface change value to develop functional dress shirts for adult males. We scanned the subjects with a 3D body scanner for five primarily male wearing dress shirts and operating postures, right standing, arms raised to $90^{\circ}$ horizontal forward position, arms raised $90^{\circ}$ to the horizontal position side, lift up the arm $180^{\circ}$, and arm forward $90^{\circ}$ in a bent posture. We analyzed the 3D scan data from those motions to examine change of length using 3D software Rapidform XOS. The results indicated that the body surface sections with contraction were the front and rear shoulder area, armpit and central length as well the width of arms at more than 10%. The increased body section included the body and armpit back length; in addition, the rear arm vibration girth and under arm girth were more than 10%. In order to reflect the size variation of for each motion, the ease amount of the front and rear shoulder length and width needs to be reduced 20% because it affects the shoulder length during the right standing. The results suggest that the ease amount of the shoulder length should be minimal. The ease amount of the back size needs to be 0.5-2cm bigger and set 0.5-1.5cm longer than the dress shirt length side drooping to compensate for the side length shortage of each motion. The sleeve length needs to be 0-0.5cm shorter, and ease amount of the girth of sleeve bottom needs to be reduced 0-0.7cm due to the size variation of arms. However, the girth of the rear arms is suggested to be 0-0.6cm longer in the ease amount to the rear arm girth as the extension is more than 10% over the width and length of each motion.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket focused on the variation of the length according to the body type and the degree of satisfaction with the body of middle-aged women. For this study, twenty seven different types of tailored jacket were designed with some variation of their silhouette, the length and the collar's figure on three hundred and twenty three middle-aged women ranging from 35 to 50 years old. There was a significant difference in the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket according to the body type of middle-aged women. The women of the body type I evaluated that tailored jackets of the long length were more attractive, graceful, and active, soft and preferred the style, and the women of the body type II and III, them of the middle length. The women of the body type I evaluated that tailored jackets of the short length were more attractive, graceful, active, soft and preferred the style. Also there was a meaningful difference in the image evaluation and the preference of tailored jacket according to the degree of satisfaction with their bodies. As satisfied with their face size, they thought tailored jackets of the long length were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style. As satisfied with the girth of the hip, they evaluated the short/long tailored jackets were more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style. As satisfied with their height they valued the long tailored jacket was more attractive, graceful and active, soft and they preferred the style.
