  • Kinect sensors have the ability to recognize the behavior and voice of the user. Due to its low-cost and high accessibility, Kinect sensors have been used in various fields, including healthcare, education and so on. In this paper, we propose to use Kinect in piano education. Specifically, the proposed method first recognizes the coordinate values of user's posture, compares them with coordinate values of teacher's posture and provide real-time feedbacks to the user. This enables user to keep the correct posture even when he is learning piano without a teacher. However, since the piano education is a long process, it is difficult to achieve the correct posture as a teacher immediately. Thus, we propose a user-oriented method to measure the error tolerance rate. The proposed method is the first feedback based piano education system that uses Kinect sensors.

  • The purpose of this study is offering appropriate system and training program to helf the system designer and the trainer in addition to analyze information use behavior about the web search tools and evaluate the estimated system by user groups. The results of the study are as follows $\circledS1$ It is desirable to consider age than other demographic variables in the case of web search tool. $\circledS2$ It is desirable to design Directory Search Tool in the case of web search tool which serves the student user group. $\circledS3$ An Intelligent Search Tool is more appropriate for the students who are using keyword search tool than any other tools. $\circledS4$ A discussion about standard classification of the web information should be accomplished soon because users feel confused in using web search tools due t o absence of standard mode of classification about classified item. $\circledS5$ Librarians need the cognition about data on internet s a source of information and need positive service and user training program about these information because student users hardly get help from librarians or library orientation for learning method to use web search tool. $\circledS6$ Internet use experience and years of computer use had effect on their use ability when using web search tool, whereas computer use experience, library use experience and Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC) use experience had no effect on it. Especially, OPAC use experience had no effect on use ability of web search tool of student user group because student user groups had no information about internet and web search tool and they did not recognized the difference about search method between web search tool and OPAC. $\circledS7$In the case of web search tool, it si important to index the increasing web resource automatically by a searching robot. But in the case of student users, web search tool is much more needed to index by index expert due to the absence of ability about selecting and combining keyword.

  • This study is to investigate student's processes of problem solving using open-ended Geometric problems to understand student's thinking and behavior. One 8th grader participated in performing her learning in 5 lessons for June in 2006. The result of the study was documented according to Polya's four problem solving stages as follows: First, the student tended to neglect the stage of "understanding" a problem in the beginning. However, the student was observed to make it simplify and relate to what she had teamed previously Second, "devising a plan" was not simply done. She attempted to solve the open-ended problems with more various ways and became to have the metacognitive knowledge, leading her to think back and correct her errors of solving a problem. Third, in process of "carrying out" the plan she controled her solving a problem to become a better solver based on failure of solving a problem. Fourth, she recognized the necessity of "looking back" stage through the open ended problems which led her to apply and generalize mathematical problems to the real life. In conclusion, it was found that the student enjoyed her solving with enthusiasm, building mathematical belief systems with challenging spirit and developing mathematical power.

  • As the number of Internet users and applications is increasing, the importance of application traffic classification is growing more and more for efficient network management. While a number of methods for traffic classification have been introduced, such as signature-based and machine learning-based methods, Skype application, which uses encrypted communication on its own P2P network, is known as one of the most difficult traffic to identify. In this paper we propose a novel method to identify Skype application traffic on the fly. The main idea is to setup a list of Skype host information {IP, port} by examining the packets generated in the Skype login process and utilizes the list to identify other Skype traffic. By implementing the identification system and deploying it on our campus network, we proved the performance and feasibility of the proposed method.

  • The existing event recognition is accomplished with the limited systematic foundation, and thus much longer learning time is needed for emergency scenario interpretation due to large scale of probability data. In this paper, we propose a method for nile-based event recognition of an independent object(human) which extract a feature vectors from the object and analyze the behavior pattern of each object and interpretation of emergency scenarios using a probability and object's events. The event rule of an independent object is composed of the Primary-event, Move-event, Interaction-event, and 'FALL DOWN' event and is defined through feature vectors of the object and the segmented motion orientated vector (SMOV) in which the dynamic Bayesian network is applied. The emergency scenario is analyzed using current state of an event and its post probability. In this paper, we define diversified events compared to that of pre-existing method and thus make it easy to expand by increasing independence of each events. Accordingly, semantics information, which is impossible to be gained through an.

  • As the number of Internet users exploded, attacks on the web increased. In addition, the attack patterns have been diversified to bypass existing defense techniques. Traditional web firewalls are difficult to detect attacks of unknown patterns. Therefore, the method of detecting abnormal behavior by artificial intelligence has been studied as an alternative. Specifically, attempts have been made to apply natural language processing techniques because the type of script or query being exploited consists of text. However, because there are many unknown words in scripts and queries, natural language processing requires a different approach. In this paper, we propose a new classification model which uses byte pair encoding (BPE) technology to learn the embedding vector, that is often used for web attack payloads, and uses an attention mechanism-based Bi-GRU neural network to extract a set of tokens that learn their order and importance. For major web attacks such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting, and command injection attacks, the accuracy of the proposed classification method is about 0.9990 and its accuracy outperforms the model suggested in the previous study.

  • Koreatech has adopted a long-term co-op program called IPP (Industry Professional Practice) to address problems in higher education of Korea since 2012, but it was anticipated to face many difficulties in implementing the program due to lack of relevant experiences in Korea. In this regard, a performance evaluation scheme was urgently required to judge the effectiveness of the Co-op program and improve the operational efficiency at the same time. This study aimed to develop comprehensive performance evaluation criteria for the co-op programs on the basis of Kirkpatrick's four-level performance evaluation model for training programs, and apply it to a real Co-op operation to test its feasibility. For this purpose, thorough review on the training program evaluation literature and in-depth analyses of overseas cases of co-op performance evaluation were conducted. Then, a set of Co-op performance evaluation criteria was developed and applied to the Koreatech's Co-op operation in 2013. Two Co-op student questionnaire surveys were administered before and after Co-op terms to measure students' reactions to the Co-op program (Level 1) and changes in participating students' attitudes and competencies (Level 2). In addition, employment rates of Co-op participating and non-participating students were compared (Level 4). The analysis findings showed that participating students were quite satisfied with their jobs and companies, and the Co-op program was effective to a certain degree at enhancing non-major competencies and attitudes to occupation of students. Together, the employment rate of Co-op participants, particularly in small- and medium-sized companies, grew significantly in comparison with that of non-participants. In the last part, several directions for improving the effectiveness of the Co-op programs were discussed.

  • Electronic BBS (bulletin board system) Ins been widely recognized as an appropriate medium for exchanging ideas and sharing information asynchronously. The communication ability if BBS is the main reason for utilizing it as a tool for collaborative learning. Researchers in the community reported a number if findings regarding the educational utilization if BBS recently. In this paper, we propose a qualitative method to measure communication activities using BBS so that the complex discussion behaviors of participants can be understood analytically. We propose characteristic vectors to describe discussion behaviors of groups and individuals, which can be conveniently used for characterizing and comparing discussion groups as well as individuals. The interactivity model representing interactive activities shows graphically the degree of inter activity if discussion groups as well as individuals. Also, time dependent measurements are investigated to analyze discussion activities with time. Experiments on the proposed measurements conducted on the Web-based discussion project using BBS demonstrate how measurements can be carried out, how characteristic vectors and inter activity model can be constructed and used.
