  • The purposes of this study are first to identify the core competences of design leadership and second to propose the characteristic and effective leadership capabilities required in the design field. To propose the capabilities of reliable and meaningful core competency of design leadership, we identified core competencies through a group of experts from the top group of design leaders (Design executives, head of the design institute) rather than using a survey study based on unspecified designers. In addition, the unique interview method, AI (Appreciated Inquiry) was also used to share the actual experiences and philosophies of the interviewers, regardless of the core competencies. This study revealed that the core competences of design leadership were different from those of conventional general leadership and MOT (Management of Technology) leadership capabilities. Besides, it provided opportunities for leaders in other fields to understand and collaborate on characteristics of the design field, while demonstrating the necessity and justification of unique leadership traits in the field of design.

  • This essay is a landscape of core values and relevant evidences about Creative Leadership in order to make sketches of Korean-style leadership framework. Glancing through this work, you can smell the distinctions of Korea creative leaders, particularly, in the aspects of procommunity pragmatism and ordinary innovation. Most Korea creative leaders were social mentors and masters who had enlarged their influences from the individual domain to social area in all the dimensions of human life. At the individual stage, the Creative Leadership suggests 'Jungki(正己)' as a core value of themselves, which is materialized as such competencies as self-assertiveness, observation and experimentation, and strong inquiry. Because most of them were technical masters dealing with new methodology and new knowledge including alchemy, medicine and weapons, the creative leaders show us very unique core values and competencies in the life sequences of the individuation, relationship, organization and community unlike other Korean-style leaderships and global practices. You can taste and compare these things: 'Kihyulsangtong(氣血相通)' as a core value and respect- for- others, style analysis, persuasion as core competencies in the stage of relationship, nextly, 'Suhshi(授時) & Jungeum(正音)' as a core value and coordination and adjustment, teamwork as core competencies in the stage of organization, finally, 'Hunmin(訓民) & Hwalin(活人)' as a core value and vision-building, social benefiting, ordinary innovation as core competencies in the stage of community. The value of this study is focused on the construction of Korean-style leadership framework based on the Creative Leadership through vivid stories about great leaders in our history.

  • This research aims to develope a maturity evaluation model on the technology management competence (MEMTMC) and to investigate the relationship between technology management competencies and maturity evaluation level in Korean firms. After research framework building through literature review and field study focusing on interview process, a maturity evaluation model was suggested, including technology management competency factors such as vision and strategy, leadership, resources, projects, performance management, and systematic procedures. Through the empirical study on the 111 Korean firms, the MEMTMC model was tested and some hypotheses were examined. As a result of the research, we found that the MEMTMC is significant statistically to evaluate the technology management competencies of firms from a practical point of view. Additionally, these findings suggest that firms can build up their technology management competencies, including the vision and strategy, leadership, resources, projects, performance management, and systematic procedures in order to raise their maturity level of technology management competencies. But this research has some limitations such as this MEMTMC has not considered separately the variety of industry, not enough survey respondents and 5 level group firms etc.

  • This study evaluates the AI digital competencies of teachers and presents a step-by-step framework for teacher's AI digital competencies that can be utilized in training. To do this, AI digital competencies were analyzed from the perspective of utilization and disposition, linked with the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) perspective. Then, as a precedent for step-by-step teacher AI digital competencies, the 3-step competency of the British Education and Training Foundation and the UNESCO ICT Teacher Competency Framework were presented. In this study, teacher's AI digital competencies were divided into three stages: entry, adaptation, and leadership, considering precedent research and domestic conditions. The initial entry stage passed the validity test in the second round of the Delphi survey, and the other two stages passed in the first round. The final entry stage is described as a stage where teachers understand AI digital but have difficulty implementing it, the adaptation stage is a level applied to standard curricula, and the leadership stage is a level where AI digital is applied in advanced courses and teachers serve as models for others. Through the overall AI digital competencies presented in this study, detailed competency development is possible, and it can be used as a reference material for developing evaluation items.
