NKN 무연압전 액추에이터의 신뢰성 연구 (An Investigation on the Aging Properties of NKN Lead-free Piezoelectric Multi-layer Ceramic Actuators)

  • 1 mol% $Li_2O$ excess $0.9(Na_{0.52}K_{0.48})NbO_3-0.1LiTaO_3$ lead-free piezoelectric multilayer ceramic actuators were investigated to determine their aging properties. To reduce the thermal aging behavior, we applied a rectified unipolar electric field of 5 kV/mm to the specimen to accelerate the electric aging behavior. By employing a rectified unipolar electric field for the piezoelectric actuators, we could remove undesirable heating from the relaxation current in the motion of the ferroelectric domain. To accelerate the aging test, the applied electric fields had a frequency of 900 Hz. To have enough time for charging and discharging, we employed an accurate time constant to design the equivalent circuit model for the aging tester. To extract exact aging behavior, we measured the pseudo-piezoelectric coefficient before and after the aging process. We also measured the electro-mechanical coupling coefficient, the frequency-dependent dielectric permittivity, and the impedance to compare with fresh and aged specimen.

  • In this study, in order to develop excellent lead free piezoelectric ceramics for piezoelectric actuators application, $Li_{0.04}(Na_{0.50}K_{0.50})_{0.96}[(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})_{0.994}Co_{0.015}]O_3+0.0025SrO+0.15\;wt%K_2CO_3+x\;wt%Nb_2O_5$ (x = 0 - 0.5 wt%) (abbreviated as LNKNTSCS-xN) ceramics were fabricated by a conventional sintering technique. the phase structure, microstructure and electrical properties were investigated with a emphasis on the influence of the $Nb_2O_5$ content. High electrical properties of $d_{33}$=234 pC/N, kp=0.392, ${\varepsilon}_r$=1,395, ${\rho}=4.70g/cm^3$ were obtained from the specimen with x=0.4 wt%, which suggests that the composition ceramics is a promising lead-free piezoelectric material.

  • The most widely used piezoelectric ceramics are lead oxide based ferroelectrics (PZT). However, the toxicity of lead oxide and its high vapor pressure during processing have led to a demand for alternative lead-free piezoelectric materials. We synthesized Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics of $0.96(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3-0.04SrZrO_3+x$ mol% $ZrO_2$ [KNN-SZ+$xZrO_2$; x= 0~0.10] doped with 0.1 wt% $MnO_2$ by a conventional solid state method. We investigated the piezoelectric properties and microstructures of these disk samples sintered in reduced atmosphere in order to evaluate the possibility of the multilayered piezoelectric ceramics having the base metal such as Ni as a internal electrode. All of these KNN-SZ samples sintered in 3%$H_2-97%N_2$ atmosphere at $1,140^{\circ}C$ exhibit pure perovskite structure irrespective of the content of $ZrO_2$. Meanwhile, the sintering denisty and piezoelectric properties such as $K_p$, $Q_m$ and $d_{33}$ of KNN-SZ samples as a function of $ZrO_2$ content show the maxima ($k_p$=28.07%, $Q_m$= 101.34, $d_{33}$= 156 pC/N) at x= 0.04 and it is likely that there is some morphotropic phase boundary(MPB) in this KNN-SZ+$xZrO_2$ composition system. These results indicate that the ceramic composition is a promising candidate material for applications in lead free multilayer piezoelectric ceramics.

  • Lead-free piezoelectric ceramic/epoxy composites with '0-3' connectivity were prepared by cold-pressing with a temperature controlled curing method. A ceramic powder with a composition of $(Na_{0.51}K_{0.47}Li_{0.02})(Nb_{0.8}Ta_{0.2})O_3$ was synthesized by a conventional solid state reaction route. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of ceramic/epoxy composites were characterized as a function of the volume fraction (${\phi}$) of piezoelectric ceramics, which was varied from 70 to 95 vol%. The results indicated that the piezoelectric properties of composites were significantly affected by the volume fraction of ceramics. In terms of the piezoelectric properties, specimens showed the best performance at ${\phi}$= 85 vol%, resulting in the piezoelectric constant $d_{33}$ of 39 pC/N and the figure of merit as a piezoelectric energy harvester ($d_{33}{\cdot}g_{33}$) of 1.24 $pm^2/N$.

  • In this paper, lead-free [$Li_{0.04}(Na_{y}K_{1-y})_{0.96}](Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.1}Sb_{0.04})O_{3}$ (y=0.4 - 0.58) ceramics were manufactured using conventional miked oxide method for acoustic emission(AE) sensor application and their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated with the variations of Na/K ratio. The samples in the composition Na/K=54/46 exhibited excellent electrical properties of $d_{33}=300$ PC/N and kp=0.49. Taking into consideration above piezoelectric properties, it can be concluded that the [$Li_{0.04}(Na_{y}K_{1-y})_{0.96}](Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.1}Sb_{0.04})O_{3}$ system ceramics are the promising lead-free materials capable of substituting PZT system ceramics.

  • In this paper, in order to develop outstanding Pb-free piezoelectric composition ceramics, the $(Na_{0.525}K_{0.443}Li_{0.037})(Nb_{0.883}Sb_{0.08}Ta_{0.037})O_3+0.3wt%Bi_2O_3+0.4wt%Fe_2O_3+xwt%CuO$ (x= 0~0.8 wt%)(abbreviated as NKL-NST) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics have been synthesized using the ordinary solid state reaction method. The effects of CuO-doping on the structure and electrical properties of the NKL-NST ceramics were systematically studied. The results show that the ceramics exhibit a pure perovskite structure with orthorhombic phase at room temperature, and secondary phase was found in the ceramics. The 0.4 wt%CuO added ceramics sintered at $950^{\circ}C$ showed the optimum properties of piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$), planar piezoelectric coupling coefficient(kp) and mechanical quality factor(Qm) : $d_{33}=213$[pC/N], kp= 0.43, Qm= 423,respectively.

  • In this paper, in order to develop lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, $(Li_{0.04}Na_{0.44}K_{0.52)(Nb_{0.86}Ta_{0.10}Sb_{0.04})O_3$ ceramics were fabricated with the variation of calcination temperature and sintering temperature. The ceramics couldn't be sintered at temperature less than $1110^{\circ}C$ and showed the highest density at calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$. Crystal structure of the ceramics showed pseudo-tetragonal phase. At the calcination temperature of $800^{\circ}C$ and sintering temperature of $1110^{\circ}C$, the optimal values of $density=4.64g/cm^3,\;kp=0.45,\;{\varepsilon}r=1336,\;d_{33}=254pC/N\;and\;Tc=335^{\circ}C$ were obtained.

  • The lead-free $0.98(Na_{0.5},K_{0.5})NbO_3-0.02Ba(Zr_{0.52},Ti_{0.48})O_3$-(hereafter NKN-BZT) CuO, ZnO-doped ceramics were prepared using a conventional mixed oxide method. NKN-BZT ceramics doped CuO, ZnO have superior structural and electrical properties than pure NKN-BZT ceramics. For the NKN-BZT-ZnO ceramics sintered at $1,120^{\circ}C$, piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) of sample showed the optimum values of 172 pC/N. The $0.98(Na_{0.5},K_{0.5})NbO_3-0.02Ba(Zr_{0.52},Ti_{0.48})O_3$-ZnO ceramics are a promising candidate for lead-free piezoelectric materials.

무연 BNBT 세라믹스의 압전특성에 미치는 La2O3의 영향 (Effects of La2O3 on the Piezoelectric Properties of Lead-Free (Bi0.5Na0.5)0.94Ba0.06TiO3 Piezoelectric Ceramics)

  • A lead free piezoelectric material, bismuth sodium barium titanate $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{0.94}Ba_{0.06}TiO_3$ (BNBT), was considered as an environment-friendly alternatives for the current PZT system. A perovskite BNBT was synthesized by conventional bulk ceramic processing technique. In order to improve piezoelectric properties, $La_2O_3$ as a dopant was incorporated into the BNBT system up to 0.025 moi, ana the effects on subsequent the piezoelectric ana dielectric properties were systematically investigated. With increasing $La_2O_3$ contents, the equilibrium grain shape was remarkably evidenced and sintered density was increased. Piezoelectric and dielectric properties were s]town to have maximum values at the $La_2O_3$ contents of 0.02 mol. $La^{3+}$ ions seemed to act as a softener in the BNBT system and to enhance dielectric and piezoelectric properties in this study.
