An Efficient Architecture Exploration Method for Optimal ASIP Design (Application에 최적의 ASIP 설계를 위한 효율적인 Architecture Exploration 방법)

  • Retargetable compiler which generates executable code for a target processor and performance profiler are required to design a processor optimized for a specific application. This paper presents an architecture exploration methodology based on ADL (Architecture Description Language). We synthesized instruction set and optimized processor structure using information extracted from application program. The information of operation sequences executed frequently and register usage are used for processor optimization. Architecture exploration has been performed for JPEG encoder to show the effectiveness of the system. The ASIP designed using the proposed method shows 1.97 times better performance.

  • After automatic translation system for hangul's romanization based on the World Wide Web converting korean-word, sentence, document to Transliteration letters by applying algorithm based phonological principles. even though a user do not know the basic principles of the usage of Korean-to-Romanization notations, It refers to corresponding character table that has been currently adopted the authority's standard proposition for Korean-to-Romanization notation rule concurrently, add to make possible to convert a machinized code as well. It provides font for toggling Korean-English mode, insert-edit mode by assigning ASCII codes and Unicode are hardly used to them. This program could be made in C++ progamming language and Unified Modeling Language to implement various font. font-expanding and condensing. alternative printing.

  • Due to wide usage of smartphones and mobile internet, mobile devices are used in various fields such as sending SMS, participating SNS, retrieving information and the number of users taking advantage of them are growing. The keypads of a mobile device are relatively smaller than those of desktop computers. Thus, the user has a difficulty in input sentences quickly and correctly. In this study, we introduce some string recommendation and modification techniques which can be used for helping a user input in mobile devices quickly and correctly. We describe a TRIE dictionary and n-gram language model which are the main technologies of the keyword recommendation applied to the online search engines.

  • In this paper, we present a Web-enabled product data sharing system for the support of RPD (Rapid Product Development) process by incorporating STEP (STandard for the Exchange of Product model data) with Web technology such as VRML (Virtual Reality Markup Language), SGML (Structured Generalized Markup Language) and Java. Extreme competition makes product life cycle short by incessantly deprecating current products with a brand-new one, and thus urges enterprises to devise a new product faster than ever. In this environment, an RPD process with effective product data sharing system is essential to outstrip competitors by speeding up the development process. However, the diversity of product data schema and heterogeneous systems make it difficult to exchange the product data. We chose STEP as a neutral product data schema and Web as an independent exchange environment to overcome these problems. While implementing our system, we focused on the support of STEP AP 203 UoF (Units of Functionality) views to efficiently employ STEP data models that are maximally normalized, and therefore very cumbersome to handle. Our functionality-oriented UoF view approach can increase users'appreciation since it facilitates the modular usage of STEP data models. This can also enhance the accuracy of product data. We demonstrate that our view approach is applicable to the configuration control of mechanical assemblies.

  • A core technology that may realize the Semantic Web is Ontology. The OWL (Web Ontology Language) has been positioned as a standard language. It requires technical expertise to directly represent the domain knowledge in OWL. Based on our experience of analyzing the fundamental relationships of concepts in e-catalog domain, we have developed a visual product information modeler called PROMOD. The modeling editor makes it possible to automatically generate the OWL codes for the given product information. We employ an Extended Entity-Relationship for conceptual modeling, enriched with modeling elements specialized for the product domain. In this paper, we present our translation schemes from EER model to OWL codes, and how to design and implement the modeling editor. We also provide a scenario to demonstrate the usage of the editor in practice.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a CAD-based tool for rasterization of polygonal vector map in AutoCAD. To identity the layer property of polygonal entity with user-defined coordinates as topology, algorithm in processing entity data of selection set that intersected with scan line was used, and the layers were extracted sequentially by sorted intersecting points in data-list. In addition to the functions for querying and modifying topology, two options for mapping were set up to construct plan projection type and to change meshes' properties in existing DTM data. In case of plan projection type, user-defined cell size of 3DFACE mesh is available for more detailed edge, and topological draping on landform can be executed in case of referring DTM data as an AutoCAD's drawing. The concept of algorithm was simple and clear, but some unexpectable errors were found in detecting intersected coordinates that were AutoCAD's error, not the utility's. Also, the routines to check these errors were included in algorithmic processing. Developed utility named MESHMAP was written in entity data control functions of AutoLISP language and dialog control language(DCL) for the purpose of user-oriented interactive usage. MESHMAP was proved to be more effective in data handling and time comparing with GRIDMAP module in LANDCADD which has similar function.

EFL Learners' Use of the Modals and Quasi-Modals of Obligation and Necessity

  • This study examines the use of the modals and quasi-modals of obligation and necessity, which involves the layering of must, should, have (got) to, got to, and need to in a corpus of cross-cultural communication between EFL learners. The study compares the EFL learners' corpus with a sub-corpus of ICE-GB in terms of token counts and semantic/functional distributions because International Corpus of Standard varieties of English serves as common reference points for international comparison of varieties of English. The results showed that must, should, and have to were the main players in both the corpus of EFL learners and that of native speakers. However, some discrepancy exists between EFL learners' corpus and the native speakers' corpus in the use of the modals and quasi-modals of obligation and necessity. Compared to the corpus of native speakers, the corpus of EFL learners was distinctively different in the relative unpopularity of have to and in the comparative popularity of must particularly for root meaning. Suggestions were made for using computer corpora in understanding EFL learners' language use. And pedagogical implications were made for teaching English modality considering the current usage of the modals and quasi-modals in Standard varieties of English and helping the students develop pragmatic competence.

  • In this study, we suggest that Copying Theory suggested by Pym could be effective in translating games. Languages used in games are based on English because of the history of games mainly developed in America. When people are playing games, people pursue effective communication. Because of this, they transform translated words into simple forms or original foreign languages to communicate each other for effective communication, The usage of English in game translation and communication support the idea that Copying strategy could be effective in translating games.

  • In recent years, as the proportion of mobile banking has become bigger with daily usage of mobile banking, security threats are also increasing according to the feeling. Accordingly, the domestic banking system introduces security solution programs in the banking application and sets security check points to ensure the stability of the application in order to check whether it is always executed. This study presents a vulnerability of inactivity bypassing mobile vaccine program operation checkpoints using the intermediate language statically and dynamically analysis when decompiling the android banking applications of major banks in Korea. Also, through the results, it identifies possible attacks that can be exploited and suggest countermeasures.

A Comparative Study of New HSK and Entry-Level of TOPIK Written in Sino-Korean in the same form and morpheme of vocabularies (신(新)HSK와 초급용(初級用) TOPIK 어휘 중의 중한(中韓) 동형(同形) 동소(同素) 한자(漢字) 어휘의 비교 연구)

  • In this study, From 1,560 entry-level of TOPIK standard vocabularies are 702 Sino-Korean words selected which account for 45% of the whole vocabularies in TOPIK. In addition, the same form and morpheme words in Sino-Korean are sorted out by comparing them with 5,000 words of the NEW HSK vocabularies in Sino-Korean morpheme, array position of morpheme, meaning, and usage. Those are categorized into three parts : type of completely the same form-morpheme and same meaning, use, class(189 pairs), type of completely the same form-morpheme and partly same meaning, use, class(28 pairs), and type of completely the same form-morpheme and different meaning, use, class(10 pairs). The first type of words that account for 83.26% of them are used in exactly the same way in both Chinese and Korean. Through an accurate understanding of these vocabularies could either Chinese-speaking Korean learners or Korean-speaking Chinese learners apply those words in their mother tongue to the acquisition of the target language and get more effective means of learning methods for language proficiency test.
