  • The arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian(ALE) finite element analysis is applied to the axisymmetric hot extrusion through continuous dies. In order to simulate hot forming problems, an ALE scheme for temperature analysis is proposed. The computed results are compared with experimental results as with those by pure Lagrangian method. In the present study mesh control is accomplished by the use of isoparametric mapping of quadrilaterals.

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 종래(從來)의 일반적(一般的)인 비선형(非線型) 해석(解析) 방법(方法)인 Lagrangian방법(方法)을 개선(改善)한 새로운 Pseudo Lagrangian방법(方法)에 의한 기하학적(幾何學的) 선형(非線型) 보요소(要素)의 정식화(Formulation) 과정을 제시(提示)하고 예제해석(例題解析)을 통한 대변형(大變形) 해석결과(解析結果)를 고찰(考察)하여 Pseudo Lagrangian방법(方法)에 의한 보요소(要素)의 대변형(大變形) 해석(解析)의 타당성(妥當性)과 정확도(正確度)를 검증(檢證)하였다. Pseudo Lagrangian방법(方法)에서는 변형전(變形前) 또는 변형후(變形後)의 상태(狀態)를 기준(基準)로 변형(變形)을 나타내는 Total Lagrangian방법(方法)과는 달리 어떠한 물리적(物理的)인 의미(意味)가 없는 임의(任意)의 Pseudo(가상(假想))변형상태(變形狀態)를 기준(基準)으로 변형(變形)을 나타낸다. 유한요소법(有限要素法)에 의한 비선형(非線形) 해석시(解析時) 일반적(一般的)인 Lagrangian방법(方法)은 각(各) 구조요소(構造要素)에 대한 유한요소(有限要素) Mapping과 변형(變形) Mapping을 따로 수행(遂行)하여야 하는데 비하여 Pseudo Lagrangian방법(方法)에서는 한번의 직접적(直接的) Mapping으로 구조요소(構造要素)의 변형상태(變形狀態)를 나타낸다. 예제분석(例題分析) 결과(結果)는 이 PLF방법(方法)에 의한 비선형(非線型) 정식화가 종래(從來)의 Lagrangian방법(方法)보다 적용성(適用性)이 양호(良好)하며 유도과정(誘導過程)이 간편(簡便)함을 보여주고 있으며 PLF방법(方法)에 의한 보요소(要素)의 비선형(非線型) 해석(解析)이 매우 정확(正確)한 결과(結果)를 나타내고 있음을 입증(立證)하고

  • A porous medium is composed of solids, fluids, and gas which have different physical and chemical properties. In addition, these constituents have a relative velocity between each other. So far, in order to analyze porous media using finite element method, Lagrangian or Eulerian method has been used. However, the numerical analyses for porous media have a defect that the methods do not describe the movements of constituents. In this paper, numerical analysis for unsaturated porous media was performed in frame of ALE method which has advantages of Lagrangian and Eulerian. Namely, the Lagrangian description was used in solid phase, and the Eulerian description was used in fluid or gas phase in a porous medium Then the relationship between each other was controlled by the convective term in ALE method. Finally, the numerical results of ALE were compared with tile results of Lagrangian analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 인공섬 형식의 방호공을 구성하는 수중사면에 선박이 충돌하는 경우 발생하는 선박과 지반의 거동을 해석하기 위한 모델을 Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian(CEL) 기법을 이용하여 구성하였다. 충돌에서 발생하는 지반의 전단파괴를 포함하는 대변형을 고려하기 위하여 지반과 해수는 Eulerian 영역으로 구성하고 충돌체를 Lagrangian 영역으로 구성되었다. 해석의 효율성을 향상시키기 위해서 mass scali기법을 충돌체의 모델링에 도입하였으며, 지반은 Eulerian영역에서 Eulerian Volume Fraction(EVF)값을 설정하여 구성하였다. 작성된 모델의 적용성을 검증하기 위하여 동적관입앵커에 대한 해석을 수행하였다. 또한 컨테이너선의 외부형상에 따라 고체요소로 모델링된 선수가 수중사면에 충돌하는 경우의 해석을 수행하고, 그 때 발생하는 변위, 속도, 소산에너지 등의 거동을 평가하였다. 그 결과로 매개변수해석에 대한 추가적인 연구 필요성이 도출되었다.

  • In the finite element analysis of metal forming processes the updated Lagrangian approach has been widely and effectively used to simulate the non-steady state problems. however some difficulties have arisen from abrupt flow change as in extrusion through square dies. In the present work an ALE(arbitrary Lagrangian-Euleria) finite element formulation for deforma-tion analysis are presented fro rigid-viscoplastic materials. The developed finite element program is applied to the isothermal analysis of square die extrusion of a square section. The computational results are compared with those by the updated Lagrangian finite element analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify that the modified Lagrangian model can predict temperature, flow and scalar fields in the high temperature recirculation region of swirling confined diffusion flame. In the meantime numerical results from EBU and Equilibrium PDF models as well as experimental results are compared with those from the modified Lagrangian model. Adaption of three different turbulent models were accompanied with this procedure. Look-up table of the ignition characteristic time scale which is one of important factors of the Lagrangian model was referred to the 11-step reduced mechanism. Eventually, results with the Lagrangian model show a good accordance with experimental results, which shows the validity of this model. Results from Chen's model differ from those of the others. Numerical results of ${\widetilde{k}$ show significant deviation from experimental results for three models.

  • An arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) finite element method has been developed. The finite element formation is derived and implemented for rigid-viscoplastic materials. The developed computer program is applied to the analysis of axisymmetric square die extrusion, which has many difficulties with updated Lagrangian approach. The results are compared with those from updated Largrangian approach. The results are compared with those from updated Lagrangian finite element program. Updating scheme of time dependent variables and mesh control are also examined.

  • In this paper, we establish a nonlinear Lagrangian algorithm for nonlinear programming problems with inequality constraints. Under some assumptions, it is proved that the sequence of points, generated by solving an unconstrained programming, convergents locally to a Kuhn-Tucker point of the primal nonlinear programming problem.

  • In this paper, we consider matrix optimization problems. We investigate augmented Lagrangian methods of multipliers and alternating direction methods of multipliers for the problems. Following the proofs of Eckstein [3], and Eckstein and Yao [5], we prove convergence theorems for augmented Lagrangian methods of multipliers and alternating direction methods of multipliers for the problems.

  • In the Lagrangian vortex particle method based on the vorticity-velocity formulation for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, a numerical scheme for calculating pressure fields is presented. Implementation of the numerical method is directly connected with the well-established surface panel methods, just by dealing with the dynamic coupling among vorticity field. Assuming the vorticity and the velocity fields are to be calculated in time domain analysis, the pressure calculation for a complete set of solution at present time step is performed in a similar way to the one used in the Eulerian description. For a validation of the present method, we illustrate the early development of the viscous flow about an impulsive started circular cylinder for Reynolds number 550. The comparative study with the Eulerian finite Volume method provides an extensive understanding and application of the mesh-free Lagrangian vortex methods for numerical simulation of viscous flows around arbitrary bodies of general shape.
