  • This study delivers the actual condition of investment for industrial accident prevention based on survey of 500 construction sites from 'reports for industry safety and health' published by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA). The various research techniques were used such as technical statistic analysis for construction industry, cost comparison of industrial accident prevention and accident loss. A formula was deduced to calculate accident loss and accident frequency by accident prevention cost through regression analysis.

  • In this paper, the patient monitor consisting of ECG/Respiration Amplification, Front end CPU, Main CPU, Main Controller, Video Amplifier, Display Controller, Waveform Generator, Bus & Power Supply, 8097 Processor was developed. This patient monitor measures the patient's states in the hospital such as elecctro-cardiography, respiration, blood pressurae and temperature. The control and processing methods based on micro-processor employ the flexibility, extensibility over other conventional system. The followings are incorporated in this system. First, ECG/RESP measures the respiration by impedence pneumography. Second, FECPU utilizes an Intel 8031 microcontroller. Third, Controller function originate from a LSI CRT controller.

  • Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES) has completed Recycling 21 (R21) pyrolysis and melting technology for municipal solid wastes. The basic technology is licensed from Siemens, but MES has made major improvements to the design and operation of the R21 system Consequently, up to now, MES has been completed six (6) R21 plants in Japan. The following text will provide a brief overview of the design & operating features of R21 technology, focused on the reliability of system and low emission of hazardous material, which have been proved by the successful construction & operation experience of the plants.

  • Objective : This case report aims to show the effect of Gamchogungang-tang, Hoiyeok-tang on an overactive bladder. The patient was diagnosed with Taeyang-byung based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed with Taeyang-byung. So He was treated with Gamchogungang-tang, Hoiyeok-tang decoction for 70 days. We evaluated the results of treatment by Overactive Bladder Symptom Score(OBASS). Results : After taking Gamchogungang-tang, Hoiyeok-tang decoctions for 70 days, the patient's OBASS and symptoms was decreased from 12(severe) to 5(mile). Conclusions : This case report showed an effectiveness of using Gamchogungang-tang, Hoiyeok-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on overactive bladder.

  • The district heating users can be generally classified into two groups such as apartments and buildings. In consideration that the time zone of the maximum heat load for apartments is different from those of buildings during a day, the maximum heat supply range is presented. In case of the investigated area, the maximum heat supply is occurred at the ratio between apartments and buildings that is 65%:35%. Thus the heat supply range is increased as much as 15% if the time zone when the maximum heat load is occurred is considered.

  • Effect of calendering on structural and surface properties of sheets made of various pulp was investigated. BKP, BCTMP and KOCC were used as raw materials for handsheets and sheets were calendered at the different calendering temperature and pressure conditions. Caliper, air permeability, and PPS roughness were reduced by calendering, but their effects were a little different depending on pulp type and calendering condition. Increase of density with increase of calendering Pressure was remarkable on sheet made of BCTMP or KOCC, and the effect of temperature was more significant than pressure. PPS roughness of sheet made of BCTMP or KOCC was reduced by calendering, but BKP sheet showed little reduction of roughness at higher calendering pressure. The compressibility of sheet increased logarithmetically with calendering pressure and surface compressibility of KOCC sheet was relatively higher than other pulps.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce design practice for transverse reinforcement in piles where the top of the pile is free-standing above the ground in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Design Specification. Based on the relevant requirements, the amount and spacing of transverse spiral reinforcement is given for the two different pile types, namely piles with pile cap and pile bents. In addition, a recommended design procedure is introduced depending on the predicted behaviour of the piles from the analysis.

  • This study is concerned with the integrated aluminum trusses on the economic analysis of the study, and aluminum truss beam zinc red lead of the economy when compared beam total amount of red lead zinc beam 54,000 won 52,000 won 58,000 won Aluminum beam Red lead to over beam 2,000 won, 6,000 won lower than that for zinc are believed to be beam. This material is aluminum and the other beam expensive than the material costs of aluminum and an easy construction method beam attribute part of the low cost of labor and overall cost compared to the red lead beam zinc were identified as having competitive prices.

  • Because of its unique ordnance or operational requirements, military aircraft has potential risks different from civil aircraft. This explains why there is no global document for military airworthiness and each nation has its own sovereign authority. But harmonized airworthiness activities among authorities are required to reduce cost and time for recent multinational programs. In this study, we show the airworthiness policy of the European Military Airworthiness Authorities and U.S. DOD Authorities which facilitate recognition of certificates and approvals issued by any other authorities. And we propose future works for Korea military airworthiness society to develop organizational recognition system.
