Neutral Deinking of Old Newsprints Contaminated with Flexo Ink

  • Presence of small amount of old newspapers printed with waterbased flexographic inks leads to a significant loss of brightness of the deinked pulp by flotation process. Recently there has been an increased interests in employing neutral deinking processes to solve the problems associated with waterbased flexo ink. A comparative experimental study was performed to evaluate the efficiency of neutral deinking and conventional alkaline deinking for ONP furnishes contaminated with flexo ink. Effects of the deinking processes on pulp quality and white water characteristics were examined. It was shown that neutral deinking would provide significant improvement in brightness, yield, and freeness as compared with conventional alkaline deinking. There was no increase in brightness when OMG was added in the furnish up to 20 %, and it was attributed to the redeposition of flexo inks on chemical pulp fibers.

Influence of Crosslinked Cationic Starches and Silica Microgels on the Performance of Microparticle Retention System

  • Effectiveness of the microparticle retention systems in improving drainage, retention, formation has been recognized for many years. In this study the effectiveness of crosslinked cationic corn starches and silica-based microgels as components of Compozil system has been evaluated. It was shown that improvements in retention and strength could be achieved by employing crosslinked cationic corn starches especially at high conductivity. Silica-based microgels with better performance in retention and drainage than a commercial colloidal silica sol have been made through a reaction of sulfuric acid and sodium silicate solutions.

  • Presence of old newspapers printed with waterbased flexographic inks leads to a significant loss of brightness of the deinked pulp by flotation process. It has been shown that neutral or acidic flotation deinking has many advantages in recycling of flexo printed newsprints. A comparative experimental study was performed to evaluate the deinking efficiency of three alcohol type deinking agents in flotation deinking of flexo printed newspapers. Zeta potential of neutral deinked pulp was less negative than alkaline deinked pulp. Also neutral deinking was advantages in reducing turbidity, COD, and cationic de-mands of deinking process water.

  • Chondrolysis of the femoral head s characterized by progressive destruction of the articular cartilage, resulting secondary joint space narrowing and stiffness. It is usually regarded as an idiopathic disease, but it can be produced by sequelae of an infection, trauma, or prolonged immobilization. We report a case of chondrolysis of femoral head in 45-year-old male, caused by infection and treated by arthroscopic management.

  • The input voltage of linear Induction motors(LIMs) is involved with the time harmonics because most LIM is driven by inverter. Therefore the equivalent circuit for an inverter-fed LIM has to be modifided to represent every harmonic present in supply voltage. This paper describes that the dynamic characteristic can be used effectively for analyzing the characteristics of a linear induction motor position and speed control.

  • The effect of 15-deoxy-PGJ$_2$ on the differentiation of embryonic midbrain cells into dopaminergic neuronal cells, and the relationship between cell differentiation with activation of PPAR-yand possible signal pathway were investigated, 15-Deoxy-PGJ$_2$ increased neurite extension, a typical characteristics of the differentiation of embryonic midbrain cells isolated from 12 day's rat embryos in a dose-dependent manner.   • PV system is easy to operate and maintain than the other power generating system since it generally contains no moving parts, operates silently and requires very little maintenance. A solar cell generates DC power from sunlight whose power is different at any instance according to condition of irradiation and temperature variables. In order to improve the system utility factor and efficiency of energy conversion, it is desirable to operate the PV system at maximum power point of solar cell under different condition This paper describes the experimental results of the PV system contain solar modules and a DC-DC converter(boost type chopper) using fuzzy controller. The experimental results show that the PV system always operates at maximum power point of solar cells having stabilized output voltage waveform with relatively small ripple component.

Fabrication and Electrical Properties of Highly Organized Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Networks for Electronic Device Applications

  • In this study, the fabrication and electrical properties of aligned single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) networks using a template-based fluidic assembly process are presented. This complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS)-friendly process allows the formation of highly aligned lateral nanotube networks on $SiO_2/Si$ substrates, which can be easily integrated onto existing Si-based structures. To measure outstanding electrical properties of organized SWCNT devices, interfacial contact resistance between organized SWCNT devices and Ti/Au electrodes needs to be improved since conventional lithographic cleaning procedures are insufficient for the complete removal of lithographic residues in SWCNT network devices. Using optimized purification steps and controlled developing time, the interfacial contact resistance between SWCNTs and contact electrodes of Ti/Au is reached below 2% of the overall resistance in two-probe SWCNT platform. This structure can withstand current densities ${\sim}10^7A{\cdot}cm^{-2}$, equivalent to copper at similar dimensions. Also failure current density improves with decreasing network width.

  • Domestic and foreign software components are rapidly developing continuously. However, the government's plan to activate BIM remains relatively sluggish. In particular, BIM based information management systems have been developed to enable the development of degraded railway industries in infrastructure BIM based areas. For this purpose, we analyzed domestic and oversea policies and guidelines. We conducted a survey on the personnel of the railroad corporation. Based on the survey result, the elements applicable to BIM were reflected in the system.

  • This paper focuses on congestion control for ATM network with uncertain time-variant delays. The time-variant delays can be distinguished into two distinct components. The first one that is represented by time-variant queueing delays in the intermediate switches is occurred in the return paths of RM cells. The next one is a forward path delay. It is solved by the VBR Model which quantifies the data propagation from the sources to the switch. Robust $H_{\infty}$ control is studied for solving congestion problem with norm-bounded time-varying uncertain parameters. The suitable robust $H_{\infty}$ controller is obtained from the solution of a convex optimization problem including terms of LMIs.
