  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of IT gifted middle school students. The researcher analyzed the observational assessments of 16 gifted noddle school students through 19 education programs conducted from During the latest 3 years at the Science Gifted Children Education Center. The researcher hypothesized that IT gifted children would be outstanding in computer skills and information processing abilities. But they were not much different from gifted children in the other areas. Therefore there are two suggestions resulted from the study. First, it might not be meaningful to sub-categorize the subjects because of their developmental stages. The tenth grade students observed in this study were in their formal operational period by Piaget. Therefore, it would be desirable to teach them integrated areas rather than separated areas. Second, gifted children could be excellent in most areas. Due to their curiosity, task tenacity, and intellectual abilities, they could show excellence in any areas. Therefore, it is important to elaborate the educational programs so that the gifted children can develop their abilities in each areas.

  • This study was carried out to analyze the genetic relationships among 22 strains of Sparassis crispa, which were collected from various regions of worldwide. The cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence were obtained from the ribosomal DNA ITS regions of each strain. Based on the sequence analysis, the presence of five different groups were observed. Most strains shared the high nucleotide sequence similarity (about 90%) to each other, except only one strain, KACC50866. Nucleotide sequence similarity of KACC50866 was below 10% to other strains, indicating the genetic relatedness of strain KACC50866 was low compared to other strains. More works such as mitochondria genome analysis should help to determine the precise genetic diversity of S. crispa strains.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the minimum proportion of probe vehicles for obtaining expressway traffic information using VISSIM, a micro traffic simulation model, between Yongin IC and Yangji IC on Yeongdong Expressway. 7,200 scenarios were created for the experiment, and 40 scenarios were adopted using the Latin hypercube sampling method because it was difficult to perform all the scenarios through experiments. The reliability of the experiment was improved by adding a situation when the general situation and the accident situation exist. In the experiments, the average travel time of probe vehicles at different market penetration rates were compared with the average travel time of the entire vehicles. As a result, the minimum market penetration rate of probe vehicles for obtaining expressway traffic information was found to be 45%. In addition, it is estimated that 25% market penetration rate of probe vehicle can meet 70% of traffic situations in accident scenario.

  • This study compares Customer Satisfaction Index(CSI) and the weight for each dimension by applying various methods of weight calculation and attempts to suggest some implications. For the purpose, the study classified the methods of weight calculation into the subjective method and the statistical method. Constant sum scale was used for the subjective method, and the statistical method was again segmented into correlation analysis, principal component analysis, factor analysis, structural equation model. The findings showed that there is difference between the weights from the subjective method and the statistical method. The order of the weights by the analysis methods were classified with similar patterns. Besides, the weight for each dimension by different methods of weight calculation showed considerable deviation and revealed the difference of discrimination and stability among the dimensions. Lastly, the CSI calculated by various methods of weight calculation showed to be the highest in structural equation model, followed by in the order of regression analysis, correlation analysis, arithmetic mean, principal component analysis, constant sum scale and factor analysis. The CSI calculated by each method showed to have statistically significant difference.

  • It is current situation that a number of issues are being raised how the weight is calculated from customer satisfaction survey. This study investigated how the weight of satisfaction for each quantile is different by comparing ordinary least square regression model to quantile regression model and carried out bootstrap verification to find the influence difference of regression coefficient for each quantile. As the analysis result of using R(Quantreg package) that is open software, it appeared that there was the influence size of satisfaction factor along study result and quantile and there was the significant difference statistically regarding regression coefficient for each quantile. So, to use quantile regression model that offers the influence of satisfaction factor for each customer group along satisfaction level would contribute to plan the quantitative convergence policy for customer satisfaction.

  • This paper presents the coding method that have multi-mode and efficiency of audio codecs using the feature of audio signal. Recently, the developed extension super-wideband codec based on G.718 wideband divides two mode between Generic and Sinusiodal. So codec efficently encode audio signal exist in super-wideband. But the codec is not as efficent coding for harmonic component of wind instrument and string instrument and individual-Line component of percussion instrument. The proposed method are modeling and encoding multiple pitch and individual-line feature using multi mode coding. For the performance evaluation, we used SNR in MDCT domain for objective test and MUSHRA test for subjective test. As a result, the performance of SNR and MUSHRA test of the proposed method have better performance than the G.718 super-wideband codec.

  • The study aims to identify the degree and types of spatial recessions in Si/Gun and Eup/Myun units within Chungcheong region in South Korea to contribute to the efforts being made to diagnose the rural recession and the potentials. To this end, we analyzed 27 Sis and Guns to identify the degree of recession and potentials of rural areas in Chungcheong region. We also carried out the diagnosis and K-Means Clustering on 274 Eups and Myuns, smaller administrative units, to figure out the types and characteristics of the rural recessions. In case of the analysis targeting the Sis and Guns, a relatively high degree of rural recession was found in Cheongyang, Seocheon and Taean for Chungcheongnam-do, and in Danyang and Goisan, as well as in Boeun, Okcheon and Youngdong - which are collectively called as 'Southern 3 Areas in Chungcheongbuk-do' as they are conventionally known by their high degree of rural recession. According to the results of the clustering analysis carried out on the 166 Eups and Myuns, there were five outstanding clusters. They were; areas with housing deterioration (29), areas with poor economic foundation (16), areas with poor accessibility to central areas (42), areas with poor residential environment (51) and areas with aged population (28). The findings and results of the present study are likely to serve as a basis for the design and enforcement of forthcoming rural area activation policies. Also, it would be highly recommended that a more comprehensive diagnosis is taken from a community-level perspective and policy suggestions and strategies tailored for rural communities are further discussed.

  • Sediment texture, physical (porosity, water content, bulk density, grain density, and shear strength), and geoacoustic properties (compressional wave velocity and attenuation) were measured on eighteen core samples collected from the shelf off eastern Geoje Island, the South Sea of Korea. Based on these properties, the study area is divided into three different sub-areas: (1) Area I affected directly by the Nakdong River discharge; (2) Area II covered by the southern branch of the Nakdong River discharge; and (3) Area III dominated by relict sediment. Mean grain size, velocity, and bulk density decrease from Area $I(7.4\Phi,\;1528m/s,\;1.6g/cm^3,\;respectively)$ to Area $II(8.1\Phi,\;1485m/s,\;and\;1.5g/cm^3)$, and then increase rather rapidly in Area $III(1.4\Phi,\;1664m/s,\;and\;2.2g/cm^3)$. Porosity, on the other hand, exhibits an opposite trend, increasing from Area $I(64.5\%)$ to Area$II(73.9\%)$ and then decreasing significantly in Area $III(32.9\%)$ From the results measured and calculated, we suggest a specified geoacoustic model in the study area.
