We fabricated highly transparent and flexible Ti doped In2O3 (TIO)/Ag nanowire(NW)/TIO (TAT) multilayer electrodes by linear facing target sputtering (LFTS) and brush-painting for used as flexible for anode organic solar cells(FOSCs). The characteristics of TAT transparent anode as a function of number of brush-painting cycles was also investigated. At optimized conditions we achieved highly flexible TAT multilayer electrodes with a low sheet resistance of $9.01{\Omega}/square$ and a high diffusive transmittance more than 80% in visible region as well as superior mechanical stability. The effective embedment of the Ag NW network between top and bottom TIO films led to a metallic conductivity, high transparency. Based on FE-SEM HRTEM, and XRD analysis, we can find that the Ag NW network was effectively embedded between top and bottom TIO layers due to good flexibility of Ag NW, the TAT multilayer showed superior flexibility than single TIO layer. Successful operation of FOSCs with high power conversion efficiency of 3.01% indicates that TAT hybrid electrode is a promising alternative to conventional ITO electrode for high performance FOSCs.
This study analyzed and compared development mechanisms leading to heat waves of 2016 and 2018 in Korea. The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis Interim (ERA Interim) dataset and Automated Surface Observing System data are used for synoptic scale analysis. The synoptic conditions are investigated using geopotential height, temperature, equivalent potential temperature, thickness, potential vorticity, omega, outgoing longwave radiation, and blocking index, etc. Heat waves in South Korea occur in relation to Western North Pacific Subtropical High (WNPSH) pressure system which moves northwestward to East Asia during summer season. Especially in 2018, WNPSH intensified due to strong large-scale circulation associated with convective activities in the Philippine Sea, and moved farther north to Korea when compared to 2016. In addition, the Tibetan high near the tropopause settled over Northern China on top of WNPSH creating a very strong anticyclonic structure in the upper-level over the Korean Peninsula. Unlike 2018, WNPSH was weaker and centered over the East China Sea in 2016. Analysis of blocking indices show wide blocking phenomena over the North Pacific and the Eurasian continent during heat wave event in both years. The strong upper-level ridge which was positioned zonally near 60°N, made the WNPSH over the South Korea stagnant in both years. Analysis of heat wave intensity (HWI) and duration (HWD) show that HWI and HWD in 2018 was both strong leading to extreme high temperatures. In 2016 however, HWI was relatively weak compared to HWD. The longevity of HWD is attributed to atmosphere blocking in the surrounding Eurasian continent.
Mg and In co-doped ZnO (MIZO) thin films with transparent conducting characteristics were successfully prepared on glass substrates by RF magnetron sputtering technique. The Influence of different substrate temperature (from RT to $400^{\circ}C$) on the structural, morphological, electrical, and optical properties of MIZO thin films were investigated. The MIZO thin film prepared at the substrate temperature of $350^{\circ}C$ showed the best electrical characteristics in terms of the carrier concentration ($4.24{\times}10^{20}cm^{-3}$), charge carrier mobility ($5.01cm^2V^{-1}S^{-1}$), and a minimum resistivity ($1.24{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$). The average transmission of MIZO thin films in the visible range was over 80% and the absorption edges of MIZO thin films were very sharp. The bandgap energy of MIZO thin films becomes wider from 3.44 eV to 3.6 eV as the substrate temperature increased from RT to $350^{\circ}C$. However, Band gap energy of MIZO thin film was narrow at substrate temperature of $400^{\circ}C$.
Nitric oxide (NO) affects the growth and development of plants and also affects plant responses to various stresses. Because NO induces root differentiation, we examined whether or not it is involved in increased ROS generation. Treatments with sodium nitroprusside (SNP), an NO donor, 2-phenyl-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide (PTIO), a specific NO scavenger, and $N{\omega}-nitro-{\text\tiny{L}}-arginine$ methyl ester hydrochloride (${\text\tiny{L}}-NAME$), an NO synthase (NOS) inhibitor, revealed that NO is involved in the adventitious root growth of mountain ginseng. Supply of an NO donor, SNP, activates NADPH oxidase activity, resulting in increased generation of $O_2{^{{\cdot}-}}$, which subsequently induces growth of adventitious roots. Moreover, treatment with diphenyliodonium chloride (DPI), an NADPH oxidase inhibitor, individually or with SNP, inhibited root growth, NADPH oxidase activity, and $O_2{^{{\cdot}-}}$ anion generation. Supply of the NO donor, SNP, did not induce any notable isoforms of enzymes; it did, however, increase the activity of pre-existing bands of NADPH oxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase, ascorbate peroxidase, and glutathione reductase. Enhanced activity of antioxidant enzymes induced by SNP supply seems to be responsible for a low level of $H_2O_2$ in the adventitious roots of mountain ginseng. It was therefore concluded that NO-induced generation of $O_2{^{{\cdot}-}}$ by NADPH oxidase seems to have a role in adventitious root growth of mountain ginseng. The possible mechanism of NO involvement in $O_2{^{{\cdot}-}}$ generation through NADPH oxidase and subsequent root growth is discussed.

In order to improve applicability of a microbial fuel cell the laboratory-scaled study has been performed by adopting an air-cathode MFC system with high concentrated anaerobic slugies in this study. The concentrations of microbes are grouped into three types, Type A (TS 1.7%), Type B (TS 1.1%) and Type C (TS 0.51%). The open circuit voltage $(V_{oc})$ characteristics showed that the medium microbes concentration of 1.10% (Type B) kept a constant voltage of 1.0 V for 150 hours, which showed the longest time among three types (Type A and Type C). The discharge charge curves for a closed circuit with $500 \Omega$ also showed that Type B generated a stable discharge voltage of 0.8 V for a longer time as in the open circuit voltage case. This could be explained by the relatively large amount of the attached microbes. Under the $V_{oc}$condition the COD removal efficiency of Type B was found to be low for a long time, but those of Type A and C were found to be high for a short period of time. Therefore, the suspended microbes could decrease the coulombic efficiency. It was concluded that the high $V_{oc}$ was caused by low COD and the $V_{oc}$ became low after the COD removal. The COD reduction resulted in an unstable and low working voltage. From the polarization characteristics Type A was found to show the highest power density of $193\;mW/m^2$ with a fill factor of 0.127 due to the relatively high remaining COD even after the MFC reaction.
Transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) were fabricated using solution-based ITO (Sn-doped $In_2O_3$) nanoinks with nanorods at an annealing temperature of $200^{\circ}C$. In order to optimize their transparent conducting performance, ITO nanoinks were composed of ITO nanoparticles alone and the weight ratios of the nanorods to nanoparticles in the ITO nanoinks were adjusted to 0.1, 0.2, and 0.5. As a result, compared to the other TCOs, the ITO TCOs formed by the ITO nanoinks with weight ratio of 0.1 were found to exhibit outstanding transparent conducting performance in terms of sheet resistance (${\sim}102.3{\Omega}/square$) and optical transmittance (~80.2 %) at 550 nm; these excellent properties are due to the enhanced Hall mobility induced by the interconnection of the composite nanorods with the (440) planes of the short lattice distance in the TCOs, in which the presence of the nanorods can serve as a conducting pathway for electrons. Therefore, this resulting material can be proposed as a potential candidate for solution-based TCOs for use in optoelectronic devices requiring large-scale and low-cost processes.
We comparatively studied the epitaxial growth conditions of $CeO_2$ and $Y_2O_3$ thin buffers on textured Ni tapes using rf magnetron sputtering and investigated the feasibility of getting a single mixture layer or sequential layers of $CeO_2$ and $Y_2O_3$ for more simplified buffer architecture. All the buffer layers were first deposited using the reducing gas of $Ar/4%H_2$ and subsequently the reactive gas mixture of Ar and $O_2$, The crystalline quality and biaxial alignment of the films were investigated using X-ray diffraction techniques (${\Theta}-2{\Theta},\;{\phi}\;and\;{\omega}\;scans$, pole figures). The $CeO_2$ single layer exhibited well developed (200) epitaxial growth at the condition of $10%\;O_2$ below an $450^{\circ}C$, but the epitaxial property was decreased with increasing the layer thickness. $Y_2O_3$ seldom showed optimum condition for (400) epitaxial growth. The sequential architecture of $CeO_2/Y_2O_3/CeO_2$ having good epitaxial property was achieved by sputtering at a temperature of $700^{\circ}C$ on the initial $CeO_2$ bottom layer sputtered at $400^{\circ}C$. Cracking of the sputtered buffer layers was seldom observed except the double layer structure of $CeO_2/Y_2O_3$.
This study has been conducted to find out the location and amount of the subterrain water body developed in the alluvial stratum in Paho-Dong, Sungsee-Myo-n, Dalsung-Kun are. An earlier test drilling was done in this area by R.O.K. Agricultural Promotion Corporation. The area consists of a small river basin and surrounding low hills developed around the junction of the Nakdong and Kumho Rivers. The strata of this area are made of Paldal gravel, Bokhyundong and Banyawol layers which were formed in the cretaceous period of the Meso-saicera or acid dikes and covered with-irregular alluvial layers. The alluvial layer in this area is composed of rather minute particles and proportional electric resistance tests on this layer show $10^2\;-\;10^3\;\Omega/cm$. The drillings up to 12meters deep showed only the sand layer (Form 3 to 26meters in thickness) contains water. The sand layers can not be considered a good water trapping one. Applying the data from the drillings to A.Hazen's equation, $K\;=\;{cd_e}^2\;(0.7\;+0.03t)$ to get the theoretical value of the water infilterated, I calculated it as K=13.92m/day. And again the value was set to Dupuit equation, (equation omitted) to acquire the pumping water amount the result was $Q_1\;=\;77.20\;\textrm{m}^3/day$. When the data-applied to the equation for pumping water amount, (equation omitted), the results were $Q_2\;=\;122.39\;\textrm{m}^3/day$ and K = 38m/day $Q_1\;and;Q_2$ (tow types of pumping water amount) represent proper value decrease and maximum value decrease respectively. Therefore, $Q_2$ is the least amount of water we can pump. The area covers about $1,555,000\;\textrm{m}^2$ and the maximum water needed in this area amounts to $155,000\textrm{m}^3$. That means we have to drill 1,406 pumping wells. It is concluded that undertaking the project in this area is irrational or even desperate and surface water should be developed more favorably.

Recently, energy harvesting technology is increasing due to the fossil fuel shortages. Energy harvesting is generating electrical energy from wasted energies as sunlight, wind, waves, pressure, and vibration etc. Energy harvesting is one of the alternatives of fossil fuel. One of the energy harvesting technologies, the piezoelectric energy harvesting has been actively studied. Piezoelectric generating uses a positive piezoelectric effect which produces electrical energy when mechanical vibration is applied to the piezoelectric device. Piezoelectric energy harvesting has an advantage in that it is relatively not affected by weather, area and place. Also, stable and sustainable energy generation is possible. However, the output power is relatively low, so in this paper, newly designed honeycomb shaped piezoelectric energy harvesting device for increasing a generating efficiency. The output characteristics of the piezoelectric harvesting device were analyzed according to the change of parameters by using the finite element method analysis program. One model which has high output voltage was selected and a prototype of the honeycomb shaped piezoelectric harvesting device was fabricated. Experimental results from the fabricated device were compared to the analyzed results. After the AC-DC converting, the power of one honeycomb shaped piezoelectric energy harvesting device was measured 2.3[mW] at road resistance 5.1[$K{\Omega}$]. And output power was increased the number of harvesting device when piezoelectric energy harvesting device were connected in series and parallel.
The doping procedure in crystalline silicon solar cell fabrication usually contains oxygen injection during drive-in process and removal of phosphorous silicate glass(PSG). In this paper, we studied the effect of oxygen injection and PSG on conversion efficiency of solar cell. The mono crystalline silicon wafers with $156{\times}156mm^2$, $200{\mu}m$, $0.5-3.0{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and p-type were used. After etching $7{\mu}m$ of the surface to form the pyramidal structure, the P(phosphorous) was injected into silicon wafer using diffusion furnace to make the emitter layer. After then, the silicon nitride was deposited by the PECVD with 80 nm thickness and 2.1 refractive index. The silver and aluminium electrodes for front and back sheet, respectively, were formed by screen-printing method, followed by firing in 400-425-450-550-$880^{\circ}C$ five-zone temperature conditions to make the ohmic contact. Solar cells with four different types were fabricated with/without oxygen injection and PSG removal. Solar cell that injected oxygen during the drive-in process and removed PSG after doping process showed the 17.9 % conversion efficiency which is best in this study. This solar cells showed $35.5mA/cm^2$ of the current density, 632 mV of the open circuit voltage and 79.5 % of the fill factor.
