복합재료 적층 구조물의 음향방출 특성 연구 (A study on the acoustic emission characteristics of laminated composite structures)

  • 음향방출 신호를 측정하면 운용 중에 구조물 내부의 파손 발생이나 진전 시점을 측정할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 보강된 복합적층 패널의 압축 시험에서 발생하는 음향방출 신호를 측정하여 누적 신호 분포와 주파수 특성을 분석하였다. 보강 패널의 좌굴 발생과 좌굴 모드의 변환시 음향방출 신호가 발생하였으며, 파손 발생 후 진전시 연속적인 신호가 나타났다. 복합재료 본딩 체결부의 강도 시험에서는 발생하는 음향방출 신호와 파손 형태와의 관계를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 음향방출 신호 분석에 사용된 특성은 시간에 따른 누적 히트(hit) 분포, 주파수 특성과 신호의 크기이다. 본 연구를 통하여 음향방출 신호의 연속적인 발생은 파손의 진전에 따라 나타나는 특성이며, 측정된 음향방출 신호의 주파수 특성을 분석함으로써 적층 복합재료에서 나타나는 파손 모드와의 관계를 유추할 수 있다. 내부 응력크기에 따라 모재균열, 층간분리 또는 디본딩, 섬유파손을 각각 100 근방, 220kHz 근방, 500kHz이상으로 분류할 수 있다.

Optimization of SWCNT-Coated Fabric Sensors for Human Joint Motion Sensing

  • This study explored the feasibility of utilizing an SWCNT-coated fabric sensor for the development of a wearable motion sensing device. The extent of variation in electric resistance of the sensor material was evaluated by varying the fiber composition of the SWCNT-coated base fabrics, attachment methods, number of layers, and sensor width and length. 32 sensors were fabricated by employing different combinations of these variables. Using a custom-built experimental jig, the amount of voltage change in a fabric sensor as a function of the length was measured as the fabric sensors underwent loading-unloading test with induced strains of 30 %, 40 %, and 50 % at a frequency of 0.5 Hz. First-step analysis revealed the following: characteristics of the strain-voltage curves of the fabric sensors confirmed that 14 out of 32 sensors were evaluated as more suitable for measuring human joint movement, as they yield stable resistance values under tension-release conditions; furthermore, significantly stable resistance values were observed at each level of strain. Secondly, we analyzed the averaged maximum, minimum, and standard deviations at various strain levels. From this analysis, it was determined that the two-layer sensor structure and welding attachment method contributed to the improvement of sensing accuracy.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of high-rate OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) in the JTC(Joint Technical Committee) channel models using transmit diversity. In this thesis, each independent channel characteristic antennas in the transmitter are analyzed. Also, Equalization method through the channel estimation in the realistic fading channel environments is applied for BEE 802.11a WLAN system performance. From the simulation results, BER through transmit diversity of WLAN system is evaluated in AWGN channel and multipath channel environments.

Output only structural modal identification using matrix pencil method

  • Modal parameter identification has received much attention recently for their usefulness in earthquake engineering, damage detection and structural health monitoring. The identification method based on Matrix Pencil technique is adopted in this paper to identify structural modal parameters, such as natural frequencies, damping ratios and modal shapes using impulse vibration responses. This method can also be applied to dynamic responses induced by stationary and white-noise inputs since the auto- and cross-correlation function of the two outputs has the same form as the impulse response dynamic functions. Matrix Pencil method is very robust to noise contained in the measurement data. It has a lower variance of estimates of the parameters of interest than the Polynomial Method, and is also computationally more efficient. The numerical simulation results show that this technique can identify modal parameters accurately even if the noise level is high.

  • This paper is to study vibration effects of the dynamic vibration absorber. Multi-body dynamic analysis is carried out for the vehicle driveline model using ADAMS with flexible propeller shaft attached with the vibration damper. Primary bending mode frequency of the propeller shaft is obtained from the simulation and coincides with the experimental result. Various design parameters are studied in dynamic simulation operated by the engine torque input. This paper identifies the responses of dynamic vibration absorbers in the driveline with propeller shaft, which will be used to find out optimal design parameters.

  • This paper discusses approximate modelling of discrete-time linear time-varying system(LTVS). The wavelet transform is considered as a tool for representing and approximating a LTVS. The joint time-frequency properties of wave analysis are appropriate for describing the LTVS. Simulatly results is included to illustrate the popential application of the technique.

  • 본 논문에서는 다해상도 해석이 가능한 웨이브렛 시리즈 기법[4,5]을 이용하여 시변 시스템 임펄스 응답의 근사화를 이룬다. 웨이브렛 시리즈 표현이 행렬 연산의 형태로 표현되고 이러한 행렬 표현 형식은 망의 구성을 가능하게 하며 웨이브렛의 계수가 가중치 행렬로 나타난다. 웨이브렛 계수의 최적값을 구하기 위해 웨이브렛 망을 출력 오차로부터 계수 행렬을 적절한 값으로 수렴시키는 학습 법칙을 온-라인으로 학습하며 이의 결과가 시스템의 결과에 추정함을 보인다.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of OFDM system based on IEEE 802.11a specification. First, we modeled the transmitter and receiver of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system. Then, we analyzed the performance of OFDM system through simulation over the JTC (Joint Technical Committee) realistic channel model. In addition we carried out the performance by using pilot training symbol, which is one of the channel estimation methods, over the same channel environments.

Wide Speed Direct Torque and Flux Controlled IPM Synchronous Motor Drive Using a Combined Adaptive Sliding Mode Observer and HF Signal Injection

  • This paper proposes a new speed sensorless direct torque and flux controlled interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drive. Closed-loop control of both the torque and stator flux linkage are achieved by using two proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The reference voltage vectors are generated by a SVM unit. The drive uses an adaptive sliding mode observer for joint stator flux and rotor speed estimation. Global asymptotic stability of the observer is achieved via Lyapunov analysis. At low speeds, the observer is combined with the high frequency signal injection technique for stable operation down to standstill. Hence, the sensorless drive is capable of exhibiting high dynamic and steady-state performances over a wide speed range. The operating range of the direct torque and flux controlled (DTFC) drive is extended into the high speed region by incorporating field weakening. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method.

OFDM 방식을 적용한 고속 무선 LAN 시스템의 채널 및 등화기법에 따른 성능분석에 관한 연구 (A study on performance analysis for OFDM wireless LAN systems according to channel and equalizer characteristics)

  • 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11a 표준안으로 확정된 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 방식을 적용한 고속 무선 LAN의 최적 시스템을 설계하기 위하여 실내 채널 특성들을 분석하였다. 통계적 채널 모델링 및 JTC(Joint Technical Committee) 모델에서의 실내 및 실외 환경을 선택하여 채널에 따른 고속 무선 LAN 시스템을 모의 실험하였다. 또한 채널에 의한 열화를 보상하기 위하여 무선 LAN 표준안에 따른 긴 훈련 신호를 이용한 채널 등화기법인 LS(Least Square) 방식과 LMMSE(Linear Minimum Mean Square Error) 방식을 비교 분석하였다. LS 기법과 본 논문에서 제시한 LS 방식으로 채널의 지연 확산 rms(root mean square) 값을 추정한 후 LMMSE 기법을 사용한 경우의 차이점을 고찰하였다. 이러한 LMMSE 기법을 채택할 경우 LS 기법에 비해 실외환경과 같은 열악한 채널환경 하에서도 시스템 성능에 상당한 개선효과가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다.
