  • JCT-VC (Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding) continues developing HEVC/Screen Content Coding (HEVC/SCC) as an extension for efficiently coding screen content videos, including computer animations, graphics, and electrical documents, based on HEVC/Range extension (HEVC/RExt.). Color space conversion from RGB space being captured from CCD sensors is popular in natural video coding. However, the conversion is often undesired for screen contents because of a significant loss in perceptual quality. Therefore, several coding tools including cross-component prediction (CCP) and in-loop adaptive color space transform (ACST) have been developed for an efficient screen content video coding in order to reduce the redundancies between color spaces while maintaining the original color space. In this paper, we review the two coding tools, i.e., CCP and ACST exploiting the correlation in the RGB color space and conduct the performance analysis of the coding tools. In our simulation results, CCP and ACST provide 11.7% BD-rate saving and 16.4% BD-rate saving, respectively, while the two coding tools provide 18.2% BD-rate saving in total. Following this idea, if the two coding tools are exclusively selected, we provide 93% encoding measurement time with a 0.3% coding loss.

  • A study on optimizing the friction welding of copper(C1100) to aluminium(A1050) for developing the electrical sleeve was experimentally carried out and also on real-time nondestructive evaluation of the friction weld quality (strength) was accomplished by acoustic emission technique. The results obtained are summarized as the following ; 1) The heating upset $U_1$(mm) or total upset U(mm) tends to increase according to the increase of heating time $t_1$(sec). The relations between $U_1$ and $t_1$ or U and $t_1$are computed as follows when n=2000rpm, $P_1$=4, $P_2$=8kgf/$mm^2$, and $t_2$=6sec. U=1.6$e^{0.39t_1}$ $U_1$=3.65$e^{0.25t_1}$. 2) It was notified that the proper welding conditions by considering on both strength with more than 100% joint effieciency and toughness are heating time of 1.5-2.25 sec under n=200rpm, $P_1$=4, $P_2$=8kgf/$mm^2$, $t_2$=6sec. 3) It was confirmed that both AE total counts(N, counts) and the weld tensile strength (${\sigma}$, kgf/$mm^2$) of the welded joints increase as the increase of heating time, respectively, the relations between N and $t_1$, ${\sigma}$ and $t_1$ are computed from data points by regression analysis using the least square method as follows in case of the above proper condition ; N=50108+23917(ln $t_1$)${\sigma}$$=11.85+2.06(ln $t_1$). 4) Both empirical and calcularated equations of relationship between .sigma. and N are very coincident with a high reliability, as the following in case of the above proper welding condition ; Calculated : ${\sigma}$=0.00008N+7.5 Empirical :${\sigma}$= $8.17e^{0.0000072N}$. 5) It was confirmed that the real-time nondestructive weld strength evaluation for friction welding of copper(C1100) to aluminium(A1050) could be possible by acoustic emission technique.

  • Objective: To evaluate the application value of serum CA19-9, CEA, CA125 and CA242 in diagnosis and prognosis of pancreatic cancer cases treated with concurrent chemotherapy. Materials and Methods: 52 patients with pancreatic cancer, 40 with benign pancreatic diseases and 40 healthy people were selected. The electrochemiluminescence immunoassay method was used for detecting levels of CA19-9, CEA and CA125, and a CanAg CA242 enzyme linked immunoassay kit for assessing the level of CA242. The Kaplan-Meier method was used for analyzing the prognostic factors of patients with pancreatic cancer. The Cox proportional hazard model was applied for analyzing the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidential interval (CI) for survival time of patients with pancreatic cancer. Results: The levels of serum CA19-9, CEA, CA125 and CA242 in patients with pancreatic cancer were significantly higher than those in patients with benign pancreatic diseases and healthy people (P<0.001). The sensitivity of CA19-9 was the highest among these, followed by CA242, CA125 and CEA. The specificity of CA242 is the highest, followed by CA125, CEA and CA19-9. The sensitivity and specificity of joint detection of serum CA19-9, CEA, CA125and CA242 were 90.4% and 93.8%, obviously higher than single detection of those markers in diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The median survival time of 52 patients with pancreatic cancer was 10 months (95% CI7.389~12.611).. Patients with the increasing level of serum CA19-9, CEA, CA125, CA242 had shorter survival times (P=0.047. 0.043, 0.0041, 0.029). COX regression analysis showed that CA19-9 was an independent prognostic factor for patients with pancreatic cancer (P=0.001, 95%CI 2.591~38.243). Conclusions: The detection of serum tumor markers (CA19.9, CEA, CA125 and CA242) is conducive to the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and joint detection of tumor markers helps improve the diagnostic efficiency. Moreover, CA19-9 is an independent prognostic factor for patients with pancreatic cancer.

  • Recently just as in the automobile industry, shipbuilders also try to reduce material consumption and weight in order to keep operating costs as low as possible and improve the speed of production. Naturally industry is ever searching for welding techniques offering higher power, higher productivity and a better quality. Therefore it is important to have a details research based on the various welding process applied to steel and other materials, and to have the ability both to counsel interested companies and to evaluate the feasibility of implementation of this process. Submerged-arc welding (SAW) process is usually used about 20% of shipbuilding. Similar to gas metal arc welding(GMAW), SAW involves formation of an arc between a continuously-fed bare wire electrode and the work-piece. The process uses a flux to generate protective gases and slag, and to add alloying elements to the weld pool and a shielding gas is not required. Prior to welding, a thin layer of flux powder is placed on the work-piece surface. The arc moves along the joint line and as it does so, excess flux is recycled via a hopper. Remaining fused slag layers can be easily removed after welding. As the arc is completely covered by the flux layer, heat loss is extremely low. This produces a thermal efficiency as high as 60% (compared with 25% for manual metal arc). SAW process offers many advantages compared to conventional CO2 welding process. The main advantages of SAW are higher welding speed, facility of workers, less deformation and better than bead shape & strength of welded joint because there is no visible arc light, welding is spatter-free, fully-mechanized or automatic process, high travel speed, and depth of penetration and chemical composition of the deposited weld metal. However it is difficult to application of thin plate according to high heat input. So this paper has been focused on application of the field according to SAW process for thin plate in ship-structures. For this purpose, It has been decided to optimized welding condition by experiments, relationship between welding parameters and bead shapes, mechanical test such as tensile and bending. Also finite element(FE) based numerical comparison of thermal history and welding residual stress in A-grade 3.2 thickness steel of SAW been made in this study. From the result of this study, It makes substantial saving of time and manufacturing cost and raises the quality of product.

  • In recent years, hoping the interaction of individuals and rather than software development process and tools, and customers want software that works first, rather than a comprehensive document, in cooperation with the customer, rather than the developer negotiate a contract, to each other stick to the plan I think even more so than the value that corresponds to the change. In view of this, software development is given the autonomy and motivation to project team rather than process-oriented and have a passion and vision and human relations oriented management approach is required. In recent years, increasing the productivity benefits of agile development processes, improved quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction as is demonstrated in the methodology selected to promote the project, attention was given to the experts. Contemporary demands with regard to the methodology chosen to meet your needs, in this paper in the organization, and to solve the problems of product-based Cross functional team proposed methodology Feature Team model, this model is an organizational Cross functional team and the team is not the outcome (product) basis, were examined for the model that points to progress the development across multiple product as a functional unit, value-plan through the driven agile technique-based model and proposed a difference. And the domain analysis, required extraction by conventional JAD (joint application development) meeting the targets for the object-oriented modeling, in modeling and organize, review, aware in advance and the UML Structure and Behavior Diagrams and proposed to proceed with the project.

  • To achieve low-cost and high-efficiency of thin-film solar cells applications, the sol-gel method that can be coated on a large area substrate, obtain homogeneous thin films of high purity was used. We studied structural and optical characteristics versus annealing temperature of $Cu_2ZnSnS_4$ which has kesterite structure by substitution low-cost sulfur (S) instead of high-cost selenium (Se). By analyzing XRD patterns, main peak was observed at $2{\theta}=28.5^{\circ}$ when Zn/Sn ratio is 0.8/1.2. And when we observed kesterite structure which has orientation of (112) direction, the more annealing temperature increase the bigger strength of (112) direction is. $Cu_2ZnSnS_4$ thin film showed characteristics of kesterite structure at $550^{\circ}C$. And when we calculated lattice constant, a = 5.5047 and $c=11.014{\AA}$ as same JCPDS (Joint Committee on Powder Standards) data measured. We measured optical transmittance to analyze optical characteristics. Optical transmittance was lower than 65 % at visible ray (${\lambda}=380{\sim}770nm$).

  • From the beginning of 1990s , also in the shipping industry, especially liner shipping industry competition has been more intensive and difference of the service quality among shipping companies has been learned . On the other hand, a shipping company has some limitations to do its international mission for itself just by broadening service area. For this reason, the necessity for the global strategi alliance among the shipping companies, which is orginally aimed at sharing of facilities and organixation, has been developed. Through strategic alliance, liner shipping companies do not need to input the additional capitals to increase the material assets such as vessel capacity and spread the risk by the enlargement of the market. Also, they can secure the competitive edge through efficient utilizaton of assets. The purpose of strategic alliance of Hanjin Shipping Ltd., can be summarized as follows ; broadening of service area, cost reduction through vessel sharing, realization of rationalized shipping service by terminal and equipment or facilities sharing. Liner strategic alliances are agreement among liner companies to pol their equipment , andterminals for joint operations and services in which each alliance partner continues to serve its market using jointly operated or used inland feeders, inland terminals, port terminals, and mainline fleets of ship as well as joint pools of containers and equipment. Strategic alliances are generally more formal agreements than consortia and impose longer term and far reaching obligation on their members. It also acts as one in developing and advancing the strategic aims of the alliance members. The most important objective for liner strategic alliances is cost reduction and improvement in capital asset utilization. Main aims of strategic alliance drawn in this paper, can be enumerated follows : 1. improvements in service frequency and quality : 2. improvements in vessel and equipment utilization and thereby reductions in fixed and variable cost ; 3. improvements in market shares and high value cargo booking ; 4. reductions in intermodal storage and port terminal throughput costs ; 5. improvements in negotiating powers with ports and feeder transport providers ; 6. reduction in financial and other fixed costs such as insurance; 7. coordination and integration of MIS and EDI systems and service for greater efficiency and market penetration ; and, 8. improvements in logistic chain management and economic of scale by equipment depot, terminal, and vessel sharing.

  • The Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) standard was proposed by the International Standardization Organization (ISO/SC 29/WG 10) and the CCITT SG VIII as an international standard for digital continuous-tone still image compression. The JPEG standard has been widely accepted in electronic imaging, computer graphics, and multi-media applications, however, due to the lossy character of the JPEG compression its application in the field of medical imaging has been limited. In this paper, the JPEG standard was applied to a series of head sections of magnetic resonance (MR) images (256 gray levels, $256{\times}256$ size) and its performance was investigated. For this purpose, DCT-based sequential mode of the JPEG standard was implemented using the CL550 compression chip and progressive and lossless coding was implemented by software without additional hardware. From the experiment, it appears that the compression ratio of about 10 to 20 was obtained for the MR images without noticeable distortion. It is also noted that the error signal between the reconstructed image by the JPEG and the original image was nearly random noise without causing any special-pattern-related artifact. Although the coding efficiency of the progressive and hierarchical coding is identical to that of the sequential coding in compression ratio and SNR, it has useful features In fast search of patient Image from huge image data base and in remote diagnosis through slow public communication channel.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to help improve game performance and provide preliminary data to enhance the efficiency of the kick and stability of the support foot by comparing the kinematic characteristics of the repeated side kick (geodeupyeopchagi) in poomsaeKoryo between expert and non-expert groups. Method: The subjects were divided into 2 groups according to proficiency in Taekwondo, an expert group and a non-expert group (n = 7 in each group), to observe the repeated side-kick technique. Four video cameras were set at a speed of 60 frames/sec and exposure time of 1/500 sec to measure the kinematic factors of the 2 groups. The Kwon3D XPprogramas used to collect and analyze three-dimensional spatial coordinates. Ground reaction force data were obtained through a force plate with a 1.200-Hz frequency. An independent samplesttest was performed, and statistical significance was defined as .05. The SPSS 18.0 software was used to calculate the mean and standard deviation of the kinematic factors and to identify the difference between the experts and non-experts. Results: The angular displacement of the hip joint in both the expert and non-expert groups showed statistical significance on E1 and E4 of the left support foot and E5 of the right foot (p<.05). The angle displacement of the knee joint in both groups showed statistical significance on E4 of the left support foot, and E1 and E2 of the right foot (p<.05). The angular velocity of the lower leg in both groups showed no statistical significance on the left support foot but showed statistical significance on E2 and E6 of the right foot (p<.05). The angular velocity of the foot in both groups showed no statistical significance on the left support foot but showed statistical significance on E2 of the right foot (p<.05). The vertical ground reaction force in both groups showed statistical significance on E2 (p<.05). The center of pressure in all directions in both groups showed statistical significance (p<.5). Conclusion: While performing the repeated side kick (geodeupyeopchagi), the experts maintainedconsistency and stability of the angle of the support leg while the kick foot moved high and fast. On the other hand, the angle of the support foot of non-experts appeared inconsistent, and the kick foot was raised, relying on the support leg, resulting in unstable and inaccurate movement.

  • This paper presents the design of an arm gesture recognition system using Kinect sensor. A variety of methods have been proposed for gesture recognition, ranging from the use of Dynamic Time Warping(DTW) to Hidden Markov Models(HMM). Our system learns a unique HMM corresponding to each arm gesture from a set of sequential skeleton data. Whenever the same gesture is performed, the trajectory of each joint captured by Kinect sensor may much differ from the previous, depending on the length and/or the orientation of the subject's arm. In order to obtain the robust performance independent of these conditions, the proposed system executes the feature transformation, in which the feature vectors of joint positions are transformed into those of angles between joints. To improve the computational efficiency for learning and using HMMs, our system also performs the k-means clustering to get one-dimensional integer sequences as inputs for discrete HMMs from high-dimensional real-number observation vectors. The dimension reduction and discretization can help our system use HMMs efficiently to recognize gestures in real-time environments. Finally, we demonstrate the recognition performance of our system through some experiments using two different datasets.
