  • This paper is concerned with the change of joint rigidity in estimating the degree of semi-rigidity of connections and the buckling load in a single layer latticed dome. The estimations are based on information about the ratio for the rotational stiffness of the connection to the flexural stiffness of the member and the minimum eigenvalue of a structure for pinned, semi-rigid and completely rigid cases, respectively. Connection characteristics are reflected in the ratio control of joint rigidity for the DOFs to be related using the spring element by FEM.

  • Wheel impact due to the joint discontinuity is a major source of uncomfortable vibration in the railway vehicles. Since the impact signal is measured using sensors attached to the bogie and its energy content is small compared to the other vibrations from the machineries such as motors and gear systems, the seperation of the impact signal is generally difficult. In this study a technique using an evolutionary spectrum is proposed in order to estimate the impact signal due to the rail joint discontinuity.

FRP 이음방식에 따른 구조강도 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strength Characteristics of the FRP Bonding Method)

  • 본 연구는 해상에서의 안전사고의 경감과 국민의 생명을 보호하기 위한 목적으로 자체 연구를 수행하여 FRP의 수리공법인 Butt Joint, Lap Joint, V-Scarf Joint(12t, 16t, 20t), X-Scarf Joint(12t 16t, 20t)의 인장강도와 굽힘강도를 통해 이음방식에 따른 구조강도 특성을 실험하였다. 이음 방법에 따른 인장강도와 굽힘강도의 시험편을 종합 분석한 결과, 인장강도의 강도와 굽힘강도의 그래프 패턴은 비슷한 양상으로 증가와 감소를 하였으며, 인장강도와 굽힘강도 모두 X-Scarf-Butt Joint-V-Scarf-Lap Joint 순으로 강도가 우수하였다. 인장강도는 강도특성이 가장 우수한 X-Scarf라 하더라도 Basic Material의 57% 수준의 강도를 나타내었고 굽힘강도는 X-Scarf가 Basic Material의 77% 수준의 강도를 나타내었다. 종합적으로 Over-Lay 구분을 포함하여 X-Scarf 12t 이음이 인장강도, 굽힘강도 특성이 우수하였으며 Lap Joint가 가장 좋지 않았다. Scarf 이음시 Taper 길이에 따른 강도의 차이는 V-Scarf 이음은 Taper의 길이가 가장 큰 20t가 인장강도, 굽힘강도 특성이 우수한 반면 X-Scarf 이음은 Taper의 길이가 가장 짧은 12t가 인장강도, 굽힘강도 특성이 우수하여 상반되는 결과를 나타내었다. 선박에는 많은 Stress가 작용하여 시험편만을 가지고 실험한 본 연구와 직접적인 비교는 힘들지만, 재료의 가장 기본 특성을 인장강도와 굽힘강도 시험을 통해 확인할 수 있다. FRP 국부적인 수리 방법인 Butt Joint, Lap Joint, V-Scarf, X-Scarf 4가지의 이음방법에 따른 시험값과 모재 대비 감소되는 비율을 제시하였고 추가적으로 V-Scarf와 X-Scarf의 Taper 길이별 특성을 12t, 16t, 20t로 구분한 결과값을 제시함으로써 수리 현장에서의 위치별 특성에 맞는 수리 방법의 응용이 가능하도록 하였다.

노트북 거치대가 건강한 젊은 성인 손목관절근육의 생체역학적 특징에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Notebook Computer Supporter on Biomechanical Characteristics in Wrist Joint Muscles of Healthy Young Adults)

  • Purpose: As laptop use increases throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and its use outside of traditional workstations proliferates, it is imperative to expand the limited research available regarding ergonomic exposure. This study aimed to identify the effects of a laptop supporter on biomechanical characteristics in the wrist joint muscles of healthy young adults. Methods: This was a cross-sectional observational study design with thirty-four healthy young adults as participants. They conducted a typing exercise performed under two different conditions, which were with and without a notebook computer supporter. This study measured the biomechanical characteristics of the muscles of the wrist joints including the flexor carpi ulnaris (FCU), the flexor carpi radialis (FCR), the extensor carpi radialis longus (ECRL), and the extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU). Measurements were taken three times: before typing, immediately after typing for 30 minutes with a supporter, and immediately after typing for 30 minutes without a supporter. The statistical method to compare the three different measurement conditions was the repeated measures ANOVA. Results: The participants showed significantly different levels of dynamic stiffness in both the FCU before typing and immediately after 30 minutes of typing with a supporter, and showed significantly different levels of dynamic stiffness in the FCR before typing and immediately after 30 minutes of typing with a supporter. The dynamic stiffness level immediately after 30 minutes of typing without a supporter was significantly different than that immediately after 30 minutes of typing with a supporter. However, the muscle tone was not significantly different among the three different conditions. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that a laptop supporter used to correct the eye level of the electronic screen increases the dynamic stiffness of the wrist joint flexors, so it is necessary to consider the neutral position of the wrist joint during typing.

발목관절 각도에 따른 무릎 폄근의 등속성 근력 평가 (Assessment of Isokinetic Muscle Strength in the Knee Extensor Through the Ankle Joint Angles)

  • Purpose:This study was designed to investigate difference in isokinetic muscle strength in the knee extensor muscle and characteristic differences in muscle strength between males and females through the ankle joint angles. Methods: Seventy-four subjects participated in this study. There were two groups: 36 males and 38 females. The mean age of the men was 24.58 years and women was 23.74 years. Subjects were seated on a CON-TREX LP (leg press) lean to back of chair, and there bodies were fixed by straps with the hip joint at an angle of $130^{\circ}$. After randomly fixing the ankle joint at $0^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, and $40^{\circ}$ of plantar flexion (PF) in range of full extension of knee joint. We studied force max average, force max average/kg, power average, and total work through the angle of the ankle joint when the knee joint was extended from $90^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$. Results: In the male group, all maximum measured value showed at the ankle joint $0^{\circ}$, all minimum measured value showed at $40^{\circ}$ PF (p<0.01). In the female group, all maximum measured value showed at the ankle joint $20^{\circ}$ PF, especially the power average increased significantly. All minimum measured value showed $40^{\circ}$ PF (p<0.01). Conclusion: There are differences between males and females in isokinetic muscle strength of the knee extensor through ankle joint angles in healthy adults. Males and Females have different characteristics of muscle strength through the ankle joint angles.

자동차용 핫스탬핑 고강도강 판재의 겹치기 레이저용접 (Lap joint Laser Welding of Hot Stamped Ultra High Strength Steel for Automotive Application)

  • Recently ultra high strength steels(UHSS) has been widely applied to the structural or safety components in the automotive industry. Specially, hot stamping boron steel 22MnB5 has shown the crash-resistant characteristics when applying to bumpers and pillars. Lap joint Laser welding of the hot stamped and die quenched sheets of Boron steel was carried out using 3kW Nd/YAG laser. The appropriate Lap joint laser welding conditions were founded separately for four lap joint combinations. The lower sheest is a hot stamped sheet in common and the upper sheet is selected among the hot stamped steel and high strength steels such as SPCC, 370MPa, and 590MPa grade high strength steels. Cross bead sections and local hardening and softening were observed as well as tensile-shear test results.

  • The purpose of this study is to research a specific material characteristics of top down concrete at column joint and to reduce column joint opening. Based on the established top down study, the experiment to apply an real construction case is performed. When the concrete placed into joint of top down column, raised air bubble is left as opening. This study is examined the incomplete packing reason in the top down column and found to air deflation method. The result of study is below (1) As the method to minimize column opening caused from confined air, it is required that an air exhaust port installation in joint column. (2) From air exhaust port installation, most of air bubble in column part is exhausted. As the concrete placing height is going up, air bubble size is going smaller.

  • It is very difficult to determine the failure block scale in great rock slopes. Especially, postulating entire slope domain as a failure block without attention to discontinuity trace lenth makes very confuse and difficult to design rock slopes. In this paper, we estimate realistic failure block scale using joint system simulation method and introduce the application procedures on rock slope analysis. Besides, presenting how joint characteristics measurement and statistical analysis results are applicated to slope stability analysis design flow.

  • The dynamic characteristics of mechanical structure are strongly affected by the properties of joint parameters. In this study, the test structures are constructed with two beam structures which are clamped by bolts, and a bolted joint which is modelled as a lumped stiffness element. To identify the dynamic joint parameters with variance of clamping torque of bolts, the sensitivity analysis and the mode energy analysis methods are investigated experimentally. As a result of these two methods, stiffnesses of bolted joint are experimentally found to increase as the clamping torque increases. These stiffnesses identified from the sensitivity analysis and the mode energy analysis method have some difference.
