청년기의 측두악관절 잡음에 관한 역학적 연구 (AN EPIDEMIOLOGIC STUDY ON THE TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT SOUND IN ADOLESCENT)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between characteristics of temporomandibular joint sound and possible contributing factors of temporomandibular joint sound. 1487 high school students (798 men and 689 women) aged from 16 to 18 were asked by questionnaires which was made for this study by T.M.J. clinic, dental infirmary, School of Dentistry, Chosun University, and data obtained from questionnaires were analyzed by chi-square test. The following results were obtained: 1. The prevalence of temporomandibular joint sound were found in 35.7% of all the subjects. 2. Temporomandibular joint sound could be unchanged, reduced and increased frequencey over time dependent on the individual. 3. The intensity of temporomandibular joint sound could be unchanged and increased during the chewing of hard food dependent on the individual. 4. The unilateral chewing and bruxism were not considered as possible contributing factors upon the occurring of temporomandibular joint sound. 5. Statistical significant association was found between clenching, stiffness, stress and tempore-mandibular joint sound, respectiely.(P<0.001, P<.01, P<0.05).

Modelling and classification of tubular joint rigidity and its effect on the global response of CHS lattice girders

  • In engineering practice, tubular connections are usually assumed pinned or rigid. Recent research showed that tubular joints may exhibit non-rigid behavior under axial or bending loads. This paper is concerned with establishing a new classification for tubular joints and investigating the effect of joint rigidity on the global behavior of CHS (Circular Hollow Section) lattice girders. Parametric formulae for predicting tubular joint rigidities are proposed, which are based on the finite element analyses through systematic variation of the main geometric parameters. Comparison with test results proves the reliability of these formulae. By considering the deformation patterns of respective parts of Vierendeel lattice girders, the boundary between rigid and semirigid tubular connections is built in terms of joint bending rigidity. In order to include characteristics of joint rigidity in the global structural analysis, a type of semirigid element which can effectively reflect the interaction of two braces in K joints is introduced and validated. The numerical example of a Warren lattice girder with different joint models shows the great effect of tubular joint rigidities on the internal forces, deformation and secondary stresses.

  • We have measured the I-V characteristics and contact resistance of jointed BSSCO tape in the superconducting state. Electrical joint was made by various type of solder. Estimated critical current was about 30 Amp, and the contact resistance of the joint was about 350 nOhm.

  • The interface necessarily exists in joints using cement mortar, UP(Unsaturated Polyester : UP) mortar and SBR(SBR-latex) mortar. Characteristics of shear transfer in joint interface consisting of different materials are studied with experimental and analytical methods. The uniaxial compressive shear experiments are accomplished with various angle of inclination (35, 45, 55, 65, 75°), materials of old and new-cast mortar. In this study, The results are as follows ① Mohr-coulomb's slip theory be applied to the interface consisting different materials ② The cohesion of UP mortar is superior to that f cement mortar, SBR mortar.

암석의 절리면 거칠기 정량화 기법 개발을 통한 절리면 전단강도 특성 분석 (Analysis fo the Rock Joint Strength Characteristics Using New Rock Joint Roughness Quantification Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 절리면 거칠기를 정량적으로 산출하기 위하여 표면 거칠기 계수, Rs를 이용한 측정방법을 제안하고, 이를 바탕으로 절리면 거칠기가 절리면 전단강도에 미치는 영향을 제시하였다. 제시된 Rs를 이용하여 새로운 절리면 전단강도 모델을 제안하였다. 연구 결과, 표면 거칠기 계수인 Rs는 암반의 절리면 거칠기를 정량적으로 표현할 수 있는 유용한 방법이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Rs에 의한 암코아 규모의 절리면 거칠기 측정에는 최대 측정간격으로 2mm, 최소 측정 길이로 5cm가 적당하나, 이를 대규모의 현장 절리면에 확대 적용하기 위해서는 변동규모(scale of fluctuation), $\delta_u$를 도입하여야 한다. 절리면 거칠기가 작은 경우, 전단강도는 절리면에서의 미끄러짐으로 유발되었으나, 거친 절리면에서의 전단강도는 거칠기의 일부분이 파괴됨으로 인하여 발생됨을 알 수 있었다.

Modeling of cyclic joint shear deformation contributions in RC beam-column connections to overall frame behavior

  • In seismic analysis of moment-resisting frames, beam-column connections are often modeled with rigid joint zones. However, it has been demonstrated that, in ductile reinforced concrete (RC) moment-resisting frames designed based on current codes (to say nothing of older non-ductile frames), the joint zones are in fact not rigid, but rather undergo significant shear deformations that contribute greatly to global drift. Therefore, the "rigid joint" assumption may result in misinterpretation of the global performance characteristics of frames and could consequently lead to miscalculation of strength and ductility demands on constituent frame members. The primary objective of this paper is to propose a rational method for estimating the hysteretic joint shear behavior of RC connections and for incorporating this behavior into frame analysis. The authors tested four RC edge beam-column-slab connection subassemblies subjected to earthquake-type lateral loading; hysteretic joint shear behavior is investigated based on these tests and other laboratory tests reported in the literature. An analytical scheme employing the modified compression field theory (MCFT) is developed to approximate joint shear stress vs. joint shear strain response. A connection model capable of explicitly considering hysteretic joint shear behavior is then formulated for nonlinear structural analysis. In the model, a joint is represented by rigid elements located along the joint edges and nonlinear rotational springs embedded in one of the four hinges linking adjacent rigid elements. The connection model is able to well represent the experimental hysteretic joint shear behavior and overall load-displacement response of connection subassemblies.

낙동강 중류 유역의 단열계 특성 및 지하수계와의 관련성 (Characteristics of Joint Systems and Their Relationship with Groundwater System in the Nakdong River Mid-basin)

  • 낙동강 중류 지역(함안근, 창령군, 의령군)의 백악기 퇴적암의 단열계 특성(단열 방향성과 단열계 밀도도)을 파악하고, 단열과 단층, 수계 그리고 연구지역내 지하수공의 일일 사용량과의 관련성을 분석하였다. 단열계는 JI($N90^{\circ}-110^{\circ}E$), J2($N0^{\circ}-35^{\circ}E$), J3($N0^{\circ}-35^{\circ}W$)로 분류되며, 주로 남북방향과 동서방향 단열군의 방항성이 우세하다. 연구지역의 동편과 서편의 함안층 분포지역에서는 남북방향의 단열계가 우세한 반면에, 연구지역의 중간부분인 칠곡층 분포지역에서는 동서방향의 단열계기 우세하다. 이는 연구지역의 동편과 서편에 위치하는 북북동-남남서 방향의 단층계와 관련되는 것으로 보인다. 또한 낙동강 주변에서도 단열 밀도가 높게 나타나며, 이는 동서방향의 단열계가 낙동강과 연관됨을 암시한다. 한편, 연구지역내 지하수공의 일일 사용량과 단열 밀도 간에는 약한 양의 상관성을 보이며, 지하수 비양수량과 단열 밀도간에는 음의 상관성을 보인다. 이는 단열 밀도가 지하수 산출량을 결정하는 주요 요인이 될 수 없음을 지시한다.

분기부(分岐部) 장대(長大)레일화시의 축력거동특성(軸力擧動特性) 해석(解析) (The Parameter Study on the Characteristics of Axial Force in Turnout with Continuous Welded Rail)

  • This paper is to study the characteristics of axial force behavior that operates to the part of turnout when it makes the turnout and the continuous welded rail unifying. The study is to model by using the 50kgN rail No. 15 turnout used in the domestic national railway and the UIC60 rail No. 18 turnout used in the rapid transit railway as the finite elements for analyzing the axial force behavior of the turnout by the continuous welded rail. It is to analyze the characteristics of behavior according to the change of creep resistance, ballast resistance and the change of parameter valuables of heel joint by the axial force simulation in making the continuous welded rail and then, it is to present the result. As the result of research on the parameter valuables through the analysis, it shows that the maximum axial force of turnout by the continuous welded rail are largely subordinated to the maximum resistance of heel joint and the fitting devices than the ballast resistance. Also it shows that the maximum axial force produced changes a lot according to the characteristics of creep resistance of the fitting part and the ballast resistance.

  • Acoustic emission (AE) signals, emanated during local failure of aluminum alloys, have been the subject of numerous investigations. It is well known that the characteristics of AE are strongly influenced by the previous thermal and mechanical treatment of the sample. Possible sources of AE during deformation have been suggested as the avalanche motion of dislocations, fracture of brittle particles, and debonding of these particles from the alloy matrix. The goal of the present study is to determine if AE occurring as the result of fatigue crack propagation could be evaluated by the joint time-frequency analysis method, short time Fourier transform (STFT), and Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD). The time-frequency analysis methods can be used to analyze non-stationary AE more effectively than conventional techniques. STFT is more effective than WVD in analyzing AE signals. Noise and frequency characteristics of crack openings and closures could be separated using STFT. The influence of various fatigue parameters on the frequency characteristics of AE signals was investigated.

FRP 이음방식에 따른 구조강도 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strength Characteristics of the FRP Bonding Method)

  • 본 연구는 해상에서의 안전사고의 경감과 국민의 생명을 보호하기 위한 목적으로 자체 연구를 수행하여 FRP의 수리공법인 Butt Joint, Lap Joint, V-Scarf Joint(12t, 16t, 20t), X-Scarf Joint(12t 16t, 20t)의 인장강도와 굽힘강도를 통해 이음방식에 따른 구조강도 특성을 실험하였다. 이음 방법에 따른 인장강도와 굽힘강도의 시험편을 종합 분석한 결과, 인장강도의 강도와 굽힘강도의 그래프 패턴은 비슷한 양상으로 증가와 감소를 하였으며, 인장강도와 굽힘강도 모두 X-Scarf-Butt Joint-V-Scarf-Lap Joint 순으로 강도가 우수하였다. 인장강도는 강도특성이 가장 우수한 X-Scarf라 하더라도 Basic Material의 57% 수준의 강도를 나타내었고 굽힘강도는 X-Scarf가 Basic Material의 77% 수준의 강도를 나타내었다. 종합적으로 Over-Lay 구분을 포함하여 X-Scarf 12t 이음이 인장강도, 굽힘강도 특성이 우수하였으며 Lap Joint가 가장 좋지 않았다. Scarf 이음시 Taper 길이에 따른 강도의 차이는 V-Scarf 이음은 Taper의 길이가 가장 큰 20t가 인장강도, 굽힘강도 특성이 우수한 반면 X-Scarf 이음은 Taper의 길이가 가장 짧은 12t가 인장강도, 굽힘강도 특성이 우수하여 상반되는 결과를 나타내었다. 선박에는 많은 Stress가 작용하여 시험편만을 가지고 실험한 본 연구와 직접적인 비교는 힘들지만, 재료의 가장 기본 특성을 인장강도와 굽힘강도 시험을 통해 확인할 수 있다. FRP 국부적인 수리 방법인 Butt Joint, Lap Joint, V-Scarf, X-Scarf 4가지의 이음방법에 따른 시험값과 모재 대비 감소되는 비율을 제시하였고 추가적으로 V-Scarf와 X-Scarf의 Taper 길이별 특성을 12t, 16t, 20t로 구분한 결과값을 제시함으로써 수리 현장에서의 위치별 특성에 맞는 수리 방법의 응용이 가능하도록 하였다.
