지구과학교육을 위한 "활동적 고유한 가치" 제안 : Eratosthenes 지구 크기 측정을 중심으로 (Suggesting "Activity Inherent Value" for Earth Science Education: Estimating the Size of the Earth by Eratosthenes)

  • 연구의 목적은 지구과학교육의 주요한 대상인 자연이 가지고 있는 특성으로, 그것의 외재적 유용성인 도구적 가치를 넘어선, 그 자체의 내재적 가치에 어떻게 접근하는가를 탐색하는 것이다. 무엇보다도 심리적 요소들이 포함된 실험 전체 전이과정에서 활동적 고유한 가치(Activity-based inherent value) 라고 하였다. 환경윤리의 핵심에는 가치, 그리고 무엇이 지속할 만한 가치가 있는지에 대한 공리적 질문이다. 그것은 단순히 지속을 넘어선 문제이다. 그 해답은 지속적인 자연환경의 가치로, 내재적인 가치, 즉 생명 애호가로서 유산가치(Leopold의 생명공동체의 건강함을 표현하는, 통일성, 안전성, 아름다움 등) 로, 특히 아름다움을 보전해야 하는 교육이다. 나아가 내재적 가치 대신 지속 가능한 가치로 가치평가 영역을 공시적 차원에서 통시적 차원인 윤리적 가치로 격상시켜야한다. 환경윤리학에서는 지식 자체의 아름다움을 보여주는 내재적 가치를 유산가치(bequest value)라고 한다. 연구는, 기존의 경험을 무시하는 선험적인 내재적 가치와, 경험 중심의 활동 중심적 고유한 가치를 구분하였다. 또한 지구과학교육에서 과학적 실험으로, Eratosthenes의 지구크기측정 실험으로 활동 중심의 고유한 가치원리를 탐색하였다. 과학적 세계관에 따른 가치원리는 가치판단의 근거가 된다. 무엇보다도 실험결과를 추론하는 과정에서 미적 가치가 개입되는 실험의 활동적 가치 체험을 통하여, 내재적 가치가 발현되고 있었다. 교육적 시사점으로 우리가 지속가능한 사회와 자연을 만들어가는 근간이 되는 도구적 가치보다는 고유한 가치를 내면적으로 전이 될 수 있도록 돕는 가치-교육이 되어야한다.

머신러닝 기반 가치투자를 통한 주식 종목 선정 연구: 내재가치를 중심으로 (Selecting Stock by Value Investing based on Machine Learning: Focusing on Intrinsic Value)

  • Purpose This study builds a prediction model to find stocks that can reach intrinsic value among KOSPI and KOSDAQ-listed companies to improve the stability and profitability of the stock investment. And investment simulations are conducted to verify whether stock investment performance is improved by comparing the prediction model, random stock selection, and the market indexes. Design/methodology/approach Value investment theory and machine learning techniques are applied to build the model. Various experiments find conditions such as the algorithm with the best predictive performance, learning period, and intrinsic value-reaching period. This study selects stocks through the prediction model learned with inventive variables, does not limit the holding period after buying to reach the intrinsic value of the stocks, and targets all KOSPI and KOSDAQ companies. The stock and financial data are collected for 21 years (2001-2021). Findings As a result of the experiment, using the random forest technique, the prediction model's performance was the best with one year of learning period and within one year of the intrinsic value reaching period. As a result of the investment simulation, the cumulative return of the prediction model was up to 1.68 times higher than the random stock selection and 17 times higher than the KOSPI index. The usefulness of the prediction model was confirmed in that the number of intrinsic values reaching the predicted stock was up to 70% higher than the random selection.

The Relationships between Product Quality Cues and Perceived Values based on Gender Differences at a Food Select Shop

  • Purpose: The ultimate purpose of this work is to investigate gender differences in the relationships between product quality cues and perceived values at a food select shop. Specifically, this study examines the effects of internal and external cues, which are indicators of product quality, on emotional and social values based on gender differences. Research design, data and methodology: In this study, a questionnaire technique was used to collect the data necessary to test the proposed model. 183 data were collected through this technique. PLS SEM (Partial Least Squares Structured Equation Model) was used to test the research model. Results: First, there is no gender difference between intrinsic cue and emotional value. When using male and female data, there was no significant causal relationship between intrinsic cues and emotional values. Second, we found no gender difference between intrinsic cue and social value. When analyzed with female data, there was no significant causal relationship between intrinsic cue and social value. On the other hand, in the case of men, it was found that a weak causal relationship exists. Third, this study found gender difference between extrinsic cue and emotional value. In the case of men, it was found that a weak causal relationship exists, whereas in the case of women, a strong causal relationship exists between extrinsic cue and emotional value. Fourth, we found gender difference between extrinsic cue and social value. In the case of men, there was no causal relationship, whereas in the case of women, there was a strong causal relationship between extrinsic cue and social value. Finally, we found that there are moderating roles of gender in the relationship between external cues and perceived quality. Conclusions: As a result of analysis, it is necessary to focus on extrinsic clues of product in order to increase the perceived emotional and social values of women. On the other hand, in order to improve the perceived emotional and social values of men, it is necessary to pay attention to both intrinsic and extrinsic cues of product. Therefore, it is necessary to consider what clues and values are important to core customers.

Major Predictors of User's Continuance Intention to Provide information: In the Context of Online Community and Social Media

  • This study investigates how anticipated value(attainment value, intrinsic value, utility value, and reward value) and self-efficacy in providing information have an influence on continuance intention to provide information in the context of online community or social media. We propose a conceptual model for examining the framework for the effect of anticipated value on attitude toward providing information, and the effect of attitude toward providing information and self-efficacy in providing information on continuance intention to provide information. Proposed research model is empirically assessed using the survey data obtained from 221 respondents in Korea. Results show that attainment value and intrinsic value have a significant impact on attitude toward providing information, whereas utility value and reward value are found to be insignificant. In addition, attitude toward providing information and self-efficacy in providing information are positively and significantly related to continuance intention to provide information.

진리의 다원성과 본래적 가치 (Plurality and intrinsic value of Truth)

  • 본고는 진리가 지닌 본래적 가치와 진리의 본체성 사이에 어떤 관계가 있는가의 질문에 대한 답을 모색한다. 진리의 본체성은 다양한 방식으로 정의될 수 있으나 본고는 진리 개념이 불투명한 개념이라는 뜻으로 규정한다. 대표적인 진리 다원주의자인 마이클 린치(Michael P. Lynch)는 진리의 본체성과 진리의 본래적 가치를 모두 긍정한다. 본고는 린치가 제시하는 진리의 본래적 가치를 옹호하는 논증을 분석한 후, 그가 제시하는 진리의 본래적 가치 옹호는 진리의 다원적 발현을 주장하는 그의 이론과 독립적임을 논증할 것이다. 아울러 진리의 본체성을 부정하는 대표적인 견해인 폴 호리치(Paul Horwich)의 진리 축소주의에 따르면 어떻게 진리가 지닌 본래적 가치를 옹호할 수 있는가를 살펴볼 것이다. 그리고 두 이론을 비교함으로써, 진리의 본래적 가치와 진리의 본체성이 서로 독립적인 논제인 이유를 자세히 해명할 것이다. 그리고 진리의 다원적 발현이 진리 가치의 다원성을 일반적으로 함축하지 않는다는 추가적인 귀결이 우리의 일상적인 진리 담론에서 어떤 함의를 가지는가를 간략히 제시할 것이다.

일부지역 보건의료계열 대학생들의 직업가치관 구성요인에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Work Value of University Students Majoring in Health Care Management)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore and analyse the work value of university students majoring in health care management. The subjects of this study were 300 students. Maryland Work Value Inventory was used and the data were collected using a structured and self-administrated questionnaire. As a result of factor analysis, the following results were obtained. First, the work value consists of six factors (financial remuneration, social status, social contribution, capability, achievement, proper pride) and it can be classified extrinsic work value (financial remuneration, social status) and intrinsic work value(social contribution, capability, achievement, proper pride). Second, The mean extrinsic work value(4.16) was higher than the mean intrinsic work value(3.80). The preference order of the work value was like this; financial remuneration(4.36) the first, achievement(4.05), social status(3.96), proper pride(3.93), capability(3.78), and social contribution(3.45) the last. Third, the mean of the economic stability in extrinsic work value was the highest. The factors meaningfully relating with intrinsic work value were age, school grade and the experience of job. Forth, as a result of regression analysis, the more school grade they have, the less extrinsic work value and the less their mother's level of education, the higher extrinsic work value.

The Impact of Loyalty Program on Customer Retention: Empirical Evidence from Bangladesh

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine how loyalty programs designed by retail stores affect customer retention. The present study is one of the few empirical studies finding the role of different loyalty programs that help to build customer retention. The study also seeks to explore the moderation role of customer perceived value between intrinsic motivation - customer retention and extrinsic motivation - customer retention. The researchers employed a quantitative research design to collect data from the 350 respondents who purchased goods from the retail chain/departmental stores in Bangladesh. The collected data are then analyzed using structural equation modeling. The result of their findings indicated that the size of the organizational reward has a positive effect on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation; further extrinsic motivation has a significant relation to customer retention. Surprisingly, no support was found for the positive impact of intrinsic motivation on customer retention. Customer perceived value (CPV) is critical as a moderator in building client retention, which improves the positive association between extrinsic motivation and customer retention. CPV, on the other hand, was found to mitigate the negative link between intrinsic motivation and client retention.

듀이 교육목적의 내재적 가치에 대한 탐구 (A Study of Intrinsic Values in Dewey's Educational Aim)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate intrinsic values with respect to the nature of aim from the viewpoint of Dewey. The intrinsic values have been recognized as values independent of activities or the content that preexist before embodied into activities. But from the perspective of Dewey, intrinsic values can be revealed only through the activity. Because they are inherent in the activities. Dewey suggested that the educational aim that is influenced by the traditional metaphysics should be meaningless in that it is given from outside and not related to human activities. The educational purpose that influenced by modern metaphysics and contemporary theories also can be regarded external, because the content and value of learning are assumed ahead activities. In the view of Dewey, the concepts of values are exposed through activities, so they can not exist independently. According to his own metaphysics that organism and its environment interact each other, all values c an be formed only in the course of activities. Thus, the intrinsic value of Dewey is a process per se, as the intrinsic value cannot be assumed ahead activities but can be exposed through activities. Bringing meaning to life through experience is Dewey's concept of growth as an educational aim. Education under such a purpose, would give the foundation to cultivate talent who are creative, proactive and communicate with their neighbors as a member of a democratic society.

Evaluation of three-dimensional cole-cole parameters from spectral IP data

  • Clay minerals show a distinct induced-polarization phenomenon, which is one of the most important factors for predicting groundwater flow and contaminant transport. This paper presents a step-by-step process to estimate Cole-Cole parameters from spectral induced-polarization (IP) data measured on the surface of three-dimensional earth. First, the inversion of low-frequency resistivity survey data is made to identify the dc resistivity ${\rho}_dc$ of a volume having IP effects. The other parameters, chargeability m, time constant $\tau$, and frequency dependence c, are sought for the polarizable volume. Next, using multi-frequency data, c can be obtained as high or low asymptotes of the slope of log phase vs. log frequency. Further, for low m, intrinsic $\tau$ is approximated by apparent one, ${\tau}_a$, which is derived from the relation ${{\omega}{\tau}}_a$=1 at an angular frequency $\omega$, where the imaginary component of spectral IP data has an extreme value. Finally, to obtain intrinsic m a two-step linearized procedure has been derived. For a body of given $\tau$ and c, forward modeling with a progression of m values yields a plot of observed vs. intrinsic imaginary components for a frequency. Since this plot is essentially linear, to extract the intrinsic imaginary component is quite simple with an observed value. Using the plot of intrinsic imaginary component vs. m, intrinsic m is determined. We present a synthetic example to illustrate that the Cole-Cole parameters can be recovered from spectral IP data.

일 지역 대학병원 간호사의 소명의식과 직업가치, 조직몰입이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Calling, Work Value, and Organizational Commitment on Turnover Intention in Nurses Employed at University Hospitals in a Region)

  • Objectives : This study was to test the influencing effects of calling, work value, and organizational commitment on turnover intention in hospital nurses. Methods : Two-hundred sixty hospital nurses were recruited in B city, South Korea. They were asked to complete a questionnaire, and 251 data sets were included in the multiple regression analysis. Results : Subjects had more extrinsic work value rather than intrinsic and a low calling level. There were significant correlations among transcendent summons, purpose/meaningfulness, pro-social intentions, intrinsic work value, and organizational commitment. Influencing factors of turnover intention were purpose/meaningfulness (t=-2.170, p=.031) and organizational commitment (t=-7.824, p<.001). The model was statistically significant explaining 27.8% of the variance (F=47.550, p<.001). Conclusions : Nurses showed a weak sense of calling and their work value leaned towards the extrinsic domain. Therefore, nurse managers should support a plan that enhances the calling and intrinsic work value of nurses to get them to commit to their organization and subsequently, reduce the turnover rate.
