Diversity of available communication media has increased as the use of Internet and mobile technology increased rapidly. The traditional media tend to transform their roles and functionality. This change brings about the expansion of the span of media to be selected by users. In this study, we examined the characteristics of emerging communication media use based on Niche Theory. Online communication media in this study include Internet messenger, mobile phone, and e-mail. We also analyzed the relationship between the nature of task and the selection of communication media, that is, the effects of communication contexts(formal vs. informal, notification vs. request, superior vs. inferior) where by the communication partners are involved. The result of this study, mobile phone had the highest niche competitive superiority in all communication contexts, and internet messenger and e-mail made difference according to communication contexts. Also, we can notify internet messenger and e-mail have a mutual substitutive relationship by analysis of niche overlap.

정보화 시대는 파일관리가 매우 중요하다. 제한된 메모리에서 많은 업무를 함에 따라 사용자들은 메모리 부족현상을 늘 겪는다. 이런 메모리 부족환경으로 인하여 사용자들은 보다 효율적이고 사용하기 편한 관리방법을 찾는다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 폰(smart phone)을 이용하여서 FTP Server에 접속하여 메모리를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 프로그램을 구현한다. 구현된 프로그램은 고정 IP를 통해 서버에 접속하고 사용자 아이디와 비밀번호를 지정하므로써, 지정된 사용자만 사용 할 수 있게 하였다. 이 FTP Client 프로그램은 체크된 파일을 전송 할 수 있게 해주고 이름변경, 삭제, 경로 변경 같은 세부기능을 가지고 있다. 구현된 프로그램 사용은 사용자들에게 스마트 폰의 메모리를 보다 효율적으로 관리할 수 있도록 하는 기능이 가능하도록 서비스를 제공한다.

In the existing researches about the Internet and mobile phone addition for primary and secondary school students, the major addiction testing measurements are personal parameters such as obsession, self-efficacy, and self-control and environmental parameters such as parents, friends, schools, community factors, and mass media. Those researches have focused on the interaction objects between a student and him/herself, parents, friends, schools, or society. While the importance of time perspective has increased recently, there have rarely been the research that had focused on it in education arena. In this paper, we analyze how time perspective influences the Internet and mobile phone addiction levels of primary and middle school students. In order to do that, we surveyed 619 primary and middle school students and analyzed the results in this paper. And then, we renew the relative importance among existing factors for the two addictions and propose the way to prevent the two addictions.

In this paper, a remote monitoring system of wind-photovoltaic hybrid generation system using mobile phone and internet has been developed. Many kinds of data can be acquired, analyzed and saved automatically by this system. The hybrid system is composed of 1[kW] PV with DC/DC converter, battery banks and 5[kW] wind power system with power inductor and AC/DC converter. In addition, wind monitoring sensors, voltage and current meters, current transformers and potential transformers are used as accessory instruments. All of these signals are fed into DAQ (Data Acquisition) board after converting the data which have been processed by many types of converters, dividing circuits and signal conditioning circuits. These data can not only be displayed on a computer, transmitted using the server program to remote computer and saved on a computer as a file day by day but also be sent as a CDMA message. The monitored-data can be downloaded, analyzed and saved from server program in real-time via mobile phone or internet at a remote place. All of the programs were designed with LabVIEW software.

Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the effect of ego resilience, peer attachment and mobile phone-related characteristics on mobile phones functional uses, focused on the use of SNS & messenger and music and internet in middle school students. Methods: The subjects were 217 middle school students in 2 cities. Results: The factors affecting mobile phones SNS & messenger usages were interpersonal relation, viability of ego-resilience in male, and communication of peer attachment in female. The factors affecting internet usages were curiosity of ego-resilience in both sexes. The factors affecting music usages were viability of ego-resilience in both sexes. Conclusion: Education and management about mobile phone functional use should be made, by intervening reflected subregions effect factors of peer attachment and ego-resilience.

Recently the range of mobile phone's usage has become more widely since phone has the function of data communication and voice communication. In addition, the request of users who wish to represent their identity on their mobile phones by storing some kinds of multimedia data such as images and melody has increased. There are two different methods for downloading the multimedia data; one method accesses a wireless internet server to download the data and another method downloads the data from PC directly. While the first one requires extra fee for downloading the data, the second method has weakness to modify the original data and it cannot be used in GSM phone yet since it is developed for CDMA phone. In this paper, we introduce a PC-based download application system that enables the users to download multimedia data from PC to GSM phone very easily.

One of the advantages of the mobile internet is that it is accessible everywhere. However, producing the mobile internet contents is hard because the standards of the contents are different depending on the telecommunications companies and the mobile phone terminals. Because of this, mobile contents production has not been activated and profit models are rarely found. In order to vitalize the mobile contents, we developed the Mobile UCC (User Created Contents) Phone Page Service with which general users can produce and provide the mobile phone pages easily. In addition, we began to provide advertisement on the UCC phone pages as a profit model. However, as mentioned already, the contents that meet each of the standards should be prepared in advance to be compatible with the different standards. For this reason, only one advertisement could be provided on one UCC phone page. Previous studies were focused on the standardization of different standards by integrating them. Though the standardization may be applicable to the mobile phones that will be newly released, it is hardly applied to the conventional mobile phones. To solve the abovementioned problems and improve the drawbacks of the conventional studies, we proposed in this article the technology to synthesize the phone page contents and independent advertisement at the moment when the UCC phone page prepared by the users is provided in real time. This technology allows to provide various advertisement on one UCC phone page and administrate the start, end and frequency of specific advertisements. This method was applied in this study to vitalize the mobile contents and improve the profit model.

With the growing shift from traditional educational approaches and studying to the more digital classroom, using electronic textbooks and digital native's demand, there is a growing need to develop new methods for learn Kanji characters for children. The purpose of this study is to help children learn the basic Kanji by using stop motion and block methods, and approaching the basic Kanji character education with a more innovative and interactive smart phone APP. In the development of this smart phone App for children's Kanji character education proposed in this study, 100 basic Kanji characters for children are selected. These 100 characters are required for the stop motion animation production, where each selected Kanji is created as a stop-motion animation utilizing a variety of techniques, such as storytelling, to better engage children. The intelligent App is designed with image recognition technology, so that in the learning process children take a picture for the assembled block using their smart phone, the APP then recognizes whether it is assembled correctly, and then plays an animation corresponding to the assembled Kanji character.

In this paper, we describe an arrival time guidance system of circular vehicles using GPS, CDMA and TCP/IP technology. The on-board equipment consists of a GPS receiver and a PDA phone. The on-board equipment sends the current position data of the vehicle to the positioning server via CDMA and Internet. The server predicts the arrival time to the next bus-stop. Any user can lookup the current position and the predicted arrival time of the vehicle utilizing his mobile phone, PDA phone, or Web.

The purpose of this study was to assess the intra-tester and inter-tester reliability and validity of elbow flexion range of motion using a smart phone used by the general public. Thirty-one general people participated in this study. The range of motion in active elbow flexion was measured with a goniometer and smart phone over two times by two observers. The intra-taster and inter-tester reliability were evaluated using the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC). The validity was measured by Pearson's correlation coefficient. The intra-observer reliability was good in all measured items ICC>0.900. The inter-observer reliability was high with ICC>0.806. All correlation coefficients of android app and goniometer were greater than 0.868 and showed a significant positive correlation (p<0.01). The range of motion measurement with a smart phone showed acceptable reliability. Therefore, using a smartphone to measure the range of motion of the elbow joint could provide convenience and economic benefits.
