One of the most significant characteristics of JPEG 2000, the emerging still image standards, is the Region of Interest(ROI) coding. Until now, there have been many proposed ROI methods. However, all of these methods can not be applied completely in applications. In this paper, the ROI coding mechanisms in JPEG2000 is first outlined and the diversity of ROI coding methods is discussed in detail. Then a comparative selection about using a proper ROI method according to ROI applications' requirements is proposed. Finally the experimental results show that there are also several parameters that control the effectiveness of ROI coding, such as the codeblock size, ROI size, wavelet filter type, the number of wavelet decomposition levels, and ROI importance score.

The performance of muffler can be improved for a frequency range of interest by moving inlet and outlet locations. And optimal location of inlet and outlet can be determined to improve the acoustic performance. The optimum design using FEM, however, may take a very long time and be very hard to take inlet and outlet locations as design variables. In this paper, the acoustic performance of reactive type single expansion chamber muffler is predicted using higher order mode theory. The sensitivity analysis of transmission loss with respect to the location of inlet and outlet is suggested. And the acoustic power transmission coefficient for a frequency of interest is used as cost function. Optimum location of inlet and outlet is determined to minimize cost function by using SUMT algorithm.

The purpose of this study taken interest in recent, is a development of the sportswear style fashion design and provision of aid for making a marketing strategy and reasonable purchasing for customer's. This study investigates the factors of LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability), to segment consumer groups by LOHAS and identify the differences of LOHAS groups in the purchase of LOHAS fashion products. A total of 398 people aged from 20s to 50s were surveyed in September, 2009. The data were analyzed with factorial analysis, ANOVA, LSD, Chi-square, Cronbach' ${\alpha}$, using the SPSS 12.0. The survey showed: 1) Seven LOHAS factors (environment preservation, family centered, pursuit of rural life, preference of environmentally friendly products, interest in health, pursuit of leisurely life, and soul & body balance), 2) LOHAS consumers were classified into five segments (health interest, well-being, LOHAS, unconcerned, and naturalist). The distribution of age level, education level, and the type of job were different among LOHAS groups; and 3) Experiences of purchasing LOHAS AS fashion products in the past and intention to purchase LOHAS fashion products in the future were different among LOHAS groups.

The present research investigated perceptions of persons wearing Korean and Western clothing with reference to judgement of appropriateness of style in a variety of socially interacting contexts and relationship to social schemata and to general clothing interest. 180 male and 180 female students responded to open-ended and Likert-type questionnaires. The stimuli were 9 line drawings of male and female figures in traditional Korean and Western formal and informal attire. Data were analyzed by content analysis, frequency, percentage, and mean. Traditional Korean clothing was judged as inappropriate on the campus and in the office but appropriate in the ambiguous context. Korean traditional styles were related to person schemata, but Western styles were related to role schemata. Furthermore, Korean styles were considered to be 'impractical' and 'inactive.' A newly emerging perception of persons wearing Korean attire as 'individualistic' and 'radical activist' was discovered. Impressions of persons wearing traditional Korean clothing were partially related to subject's own clothing interest.

Diffusion of innovation theories have been used to explain the adaptation process of Chinese college students to Korean food. This study examined and compared Korean food adaptation among Chinese college students in Gyeonggido and Daejeon. A total of 141 Chinese college students were surveyed from August 01 to November supported by the Chinese Students Association in Gyeonggido. The results show that the adaptation process of Chinese college students to Korean food was different between Gyeonggido and Daejeon. Chinese college students did not have many opportunities to learn about Korean food and search information about Korean food. The adaptation process of Chinese college students to Korean food was different by residential type and period. The adaptation process of Chinese college students in Gyeonggido to Korean food was composed of three factors: interest-reinvention-adoption, awareness, and evaluation-trial-adoption. Three factors of the adaptation process of Chinese college students in Daejeon to Korean food were awareness-evaluationtrial, adoption-reinvention-trial, and interest.

The generation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from somatic cells using gene transfer opens new areas for precision medicine with personalized cell therapy and encourages the discovery of essential platforms for targeted drug development. iPSCs retain the genome of the donor, may regenerate indefinitely, and undergo differentiation into virtually any cell type of interest using a range of published protocols. There has been enormous interest among researchers regarding the application of iPSC technology to regenerative medicine and human disease modeling, in particular, modeling of neurologic diseases using patient-specific iPSCs. For instance, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and spinal cord injuries may be treated with iPSC therapy or replacement tissues obtained from iPSCs. In this review, we discuss the work so far on generation and characterization of iPSCs and focus on recent advances in the use of human iPSCs in clinical setting.

The authors have recently developed a new method for identification of Volterra kernels of nonlinear systems by use of pseudorandom M-sequence and correlation technique. And it is shown that nonlinear systems which can be expressed by Volterra series expansion are well identified by use of this method. However, there exist many nonlinear systems which can not be expressed by Volterra series mathematically. A nonlinear system having backlash type nonliear element is one of those systems, since backlash type nonlinear element has multi-valued function between its input and output. Since Volterra kernel expression of nonlinear system is one of the most useful representations of non-linear dynamical systems, it is of interest how the method of Volterra kernel identification can be ar plied to such backlash type nonlinear system. The authors have investigated the effect of application of Volterra kernel identification to those non-linear systems which, accurately speaking, is difficult to express by use of Volterra kernel expression. A pseudorandom M-sequence is applied to a nonlinear backlash-type system, and the crosscorrelation function is measured and Volterra kernels are obtained. The comparison of actual output and the estimated output by use of measured Volterra kernels show that we can still use Volterra kernel representation for those backlash-type nonlinear systems.

The purpose of this study is to identify and compare the range of dwellers and the use of pattern in public common space for dwellers of high-rised apartment of staircase type and gallery type. Also, it is to ascertain the relationship between extent of neighborhood and community awareness. The results were as follows. The term of habitation of most apartment dwellers surveyed were relatively short and most of dwellers had a small family that having a minor children.'Relational association with their neighbor in apartment of staircase type was happened between families that use the same entrance and elevator and it in gaiter type was happened inside the family. But intimacy rate and range of interest were not that high additively, int the case needs a conversation with neighbor, it happened in individual entrance and elevator hall rather than inside the house and exterior area.
