Two reasons for the low success rate of the practical implementation of BPR are the lack of good models and consideration of information system development stage in a BPR project. This paper suggests an Integrated Business Process Model (IBPM), which incorporates two distinct but interrelated points of view: form and business process. By integrating the form model with the business process model, the IBPM has advantages in performing BPR projects; it helps to build the model, to analyze and redesign business processes, and to do requirement analysis of information systems. This paper also suggests a new BPR supporting tool, BRAWII(Business Reengineering Assistance Workbench version 2.0). BRAWIIsupports IBPM and manages full stages of BPR project. In the design of BRAWII, the linkage between results of a BPR project and requirements for information system development is considered.

A comprehensive research effort in order to develop and disseminate modernized Korean housing (Hanok) has recently been initiated by Korean government. This large scale research project encompasses a wide spectrum of housing development including public policy, architectural plans, modules, construction materials and methods, prefabricated assemblies, automated production, construction management, and advanced information systems. For the purpose of integrating and automating the whole processes from an industry perspective, it is of great importance to develop a standard classification system and project numbering system (PNS) for the modernized Korean housing. This paper focuses on the standard classification systems and PNS for cost and schedule control. The distinct characteristics and managerial requirements were explored and embedded into the proposed classifications for modernized Hanok.

EVM(Earned Value Management) is a management methodology for integrating scope, schedule and resources, and for objectively measuring project performance and progress. EVMS(Earned Value Management System) has been used for the performance measurement of R&D and construction projects in developed countries such as United States, United Kingdom and Australia. The nuclear power plant (NPP) projects in Korea have not applied EVMS. However, EVMS has come into request for overall schedule and cost risk management and performance measurement in overseas project of the nuclear power plant as a contractor. In this paper, based on the global EVMS guidelines, EVMS per unit processes have been developed for NPP projects. Moreover, using Business Process Management (BPM), it proposes an integrated process model with tasks, roles, and procedures for EVMS for NPP construction projects.

This paper presents u-COEX, Ubiquitous-Collaborative Online shopping EXecution system, for small- and mediam- sized business enterprises, based on EPCglobal network. The system is taking advantage of RFID technology promises to optimize the critical processes in the Supply Chain Management. The system consists of five major functions: integrated order management, realtime monitoring and analysis system of sales and inventory, decision support system, integrating with EPCglobal and RFID technology, and u-catalog feature. The prototype implementation was developed for mass electronic market complex and the result revealed the feasibility to be applicable to real market.

An integrating position estimation algorithm has been developed for the navigation system of a free-ranging AGV system. The navigation system focused in this research work consists of redundant wheel encoders for the relative position measurement and a vision sensor for the absolute position measurement. A maximum likelihood method and an extended Kalman filter are implemented for enhancing the performance of the position estimator. The maximum likelihood estimator processes noisy, redundant wheel encoder measurements and yields efficient estimates for the AGV motion between each sampling interval. The extended Kalman filter fuses inharmonious positional data from the deadreckoner and the vision sensor and computes the optimal position estimate. The simulation results show that the proposed position estimator solves a generalized estimation problem for locating the vehicle accurately in space.

Recently, e-transformation has appeared as one of the important issues on which academic and industrial worlds focus in order to bring organizational transformation to a company that wants to adapt itself to the rapidly changing business environment. Therefore this thesis aims to develop a new model(a model whose evaluation criteria were based on 3 dimensions, 9 factors, and 30 indices was derived) to evaluate the level of e-transformation that enables firms to check out and predict the e-transformation progress. The present study seems to be the first trial to evaluate the status of e-transformation processes of the firm empirically, especially by integrating the many indices that have not been examined empirically before. We expect that the results from this research will help corporate e-business strategy planners to devise and analyze the e-transformation strategies effectively by recognizing the companies' current situation in comparison with their previous and other firms' level, respectively.

Effectively integrating information systems in mergers and acquisitions of large organizations can be critical to merger success. But the general literature on M&A focuses on the financial aspects of the acquisition process, rather than on the subsequent process of integration. This paper analyses the case of information systems integration in a merger of two Korean manufacturing organizations, and explores the factors influencing IS integration in M&A in Korea. To analysis this case and find factors affecting IS integration success, we use MIT'90s schema (framework) by Scott Morton that consists of 5 dimensions (strategy, processes, structure, individuals/roles, and technology). From the results of this case study, we found 13 factors and 14 propositions influencing IS integrations performance in M&A in Korean companies. This research helps the company to avoid mistakes and to manage IS integration in M&A. Also this study provides guide line for further researches.

STD11 is one of difficult-to-cut materials and its cutting characteristic data is not built enough. A bad cutting condition of it leads to low productivity of die and mould, so it is necessary to evaluate the machining characteristics of STD11. In this paper, the relations of the geometry of ball-end mill and mechanics of machining with it are studied. The helix angle of ball-end mill varies according to a location of elemental cutting edge in the cutting process are difficult to calculate accurately. To calculate instantaneous cutting forces, it is supposed that the tangential, radial and axial cutting force coefficients are functions of elemental cutting edge location. Elemental cutting forces in the x,y and z direction are calculated by coordinate transformation. The total cutting forces are calculated by integrating the elemental cutting forces of engaged cutting edge elements. This model is verified by slot and side cutting experiments of STD11 workpiece which was heat-treated to HRC45.

The purpose of this study is (1) to develop a conceptually integrated model of IT capability comprising hierarchically structured lower capabilities, and (2) to investigate the impacts of IT capability on firm performance. To do this, the study defined IT capability as a third-order factor model and identified three conceptual dimensions of IT capability IT resource integrating capability, IT infrastructure flexibility, and IT personnel expertise. The relationships between IT capability and firm performance are assessed with 243 firm level data using LISREL. The results of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) demonstrated that the constructs is highly reliable and valid. Further, we found that IT capability not directly but indirectly affects firm performance through the impacts on business processes.

A pump design system was constructed by several integrating in-house programs and commercial softwares to design and evaluate centrifugal pumps. An agent-based prototype framework has been developed for collaborative design and optimization of a centrifugal pump. This paper introduces the feasible technology needed to construct a pump design system based on software agents. The integrated design system, developed in the present study, was used in designing a centrifugal pump and modifying its impeller shape by using optimization processes to increase the pump performance.
