  • The elimination of offsets such as those induced by load disturbance is a principal requirement in the control of industrial processes. In this paper we propose a self-tuning minimum variance control in the two tuypes of k-incremental and integrating form. Since the objective of control design in this paper is a generalized minimum variance control, it can be applied to nonminimum phase system. And we compare the proposed algorithm wiht that of the positional self-tuning control and show that it can also be applied to nonminimum phase system by computer simulation.

  • This paper aims to offer a solution based on intelligent document classification to create a user-centric information retrieval system allowing user-centric linguistic expression. So, structures expressing user intention and fine document classifying process using EBL, similarity, knowledge base, user intention, are proposed. To overcome the problem requiring huge and exact semantic information, a hybrid process is designed integrating keyword, thesaurus, probability and user intention information. User intention tree hierarchy is build and a method of extracting group intention between key words and user intentions is proposed. These structures and processes are implemented in HDCI(Hybrid Document Classification with Intention) system. HDCI consists of analyzing user intention and classifying web documents stages. Classifying stage is composed of knowledge base process, similarity process and hybrid coordinating process. With the help of user intention related structures and hybrid coordinating process, HDCI can efficiently categorize web documents in according to user's complex linguistic expression with small priori information.

  • In the playback signal processing of a digital magnetic recording system, the major signal processing processes consist of pulse equalization. pulse detection, clock recovery, and data recovery. Equalizer which compensates interference occurrde between pulses recorded in high density on a magnetic media is realized by pulse slimming method, and pulse detection by a integrating detector. Clock recovery from the detector output was accomplished by using PLL. and data recovery to reduce noise effects was carried out by utilizing the three sampling clocks recovered in clock recovery process. In this paper these processes are implemented in hardware and its performance is evaluated by experimenting with a commercial DAT. It was found that the playback signal processor proposed is suitable to the practical high density magnetic recording system.

  • It has been argued theoretically and empirically that the analysis of business processes requires the decomposition of an integrated system. However, in order to innovate a business process, cognitive integration activities that try to understand the decomposed features of the business process as an integrated system are essential. This research aims at 1) empirically investigating the cognitive process of integrating multiple diagrams while using object-oriented methodologies in process modeling ; 2) identifying a cognitive integration strategy that supports the successful comprehension of business processes with the use of multiple diagrams ; and 3) proposing guidelines for developing supporting tools for effective business process engineering by using object-oriented process modeling.

  • This paper presents a database approach to integrating the structural analysis and design processes for a typical shear wall apartment building design. Our initial efforts have focused on extracting various graphic information from CAD(AutoCAD™) systems. But now, we concentrate our research efforts on organizing specific information generated during the structural analysis and design processes. The proposed overall system consists of a conventional structural analysis package, a conventional CAD system, and different application interface programs. This system is based on an engineering database which is developed by using an object-oriented data modelling approach. The system is actually implemented on an ORACLE™-based relational database management system.

  • A three dimensional FEM system for supporting the design procedure of metal forming processes has been developed by integrating the FEA programs md the CAD interface modules. The system is developed to reduce the time, the extorts and the cost for establishing the successful metal forming processes for the given products. To promote practical application by engineers in medium-size enterprises who do not know much about theories of the FEA and others, various databases and intelligent interfacing modules have been developed in PC environment.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is such a strategic tool, which helps the company to gain competitive edge by integrating all business processes and optimizing the resources available. This paper throws light on how ERP evolved, what makes up an ERP system and what it has to offer to the industries.   • This paper aims to construct an effective decision making model on selection of product design in product development using fuzzy AHP technique. It is expected that this paper contributes to enhancement of company's market competitiveness by shortening the lead time to develop a new product and minimize initial investment. The proposed model using fuzzy AHP enables quick decision making by integrating and analyzing all customer requirements related to a product. In addition, it can deal with vagueness and uncertainty of decision making process using fuzzy set theory. Decision making processes for evaluating the best selection of product design are also constructed to describe the exact concept of development. A tennis racket is shown as an example. The proposed model is expected to be applied in various fields of managerial decision making processes as well as of product development process.

  • Due to the development of wireless devices such as smart-phone and internet, a lot of linguistic resources actively are opened in each area of expertise. Also, various systems using semantic web technologies are developing for determining whether such information are useful or not. In order to build these systems, the processes of data collection and natural language processing are necessary. But, there is few systems to use of integrating software and data required those processes. In this paper, we propose the system, uLAMP, integrating software and data related to natural language processing. In terms of economics, the cost can be reduced by preventing duplicated implementation and data collection. On the other hand, data and software usability are increasing in terms of management aspects. In addition, for the evaluation of uLAMP usability and effectiveness, user survey was conducted. Through this evaluation, the advantages of the currentness of data and the ease of use are found.
