Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the relative effects of young children's mathematical abilities and scientific abilities on intelligence. Methods: The object of this study is 100 five or six-years-old children in a kindergarten of S district in S city. I conducted analysis of partial correlation after controlled young children's age and sex to examine correlation between young children's mathematical abilities, scientific abilities and intelligence, also I used stepwise multiple regression analysis for inspecting the relative effects of young children's mathematical abilities and scientific abilities on intelligence. Results: Young children's intelligence is relative with mathematical abilities and scientific abilities, this relation is higher in 'measurement' and 'algebra' factors of mathematical abilities and 'predicting' factor of scientific abilities. Mathematical abilities bigger impact to the relative effects on young children's intelligence. Conclusion/Implications: On this, it is necessary that evenly providing the math and science activities in early childhood education field and home, and we have to consider the integrations of the process when provide the math and science integrated activities. This study has the significance to use basic line data when people plan the integrated math-science activities and develop program associated those by finding the relationship between mathematical abilities, scientific abilities and intelligence and evaluating the relative effects on intelligence.
The purpose of this study is to build an instruction method focused on the mathematical process and apply it to 12, 5-year-olds from Kindergarten located in Seoul with a view to explore the changes in their mathematical thinking. In addition, surveys with parents and teachers, as well as those conducted in the field of early childhood education, were conducted to analyze the current situation. The effects focused on the five mathematical processes, namely problem solving, reasoning and proof, connecting, representing and communication was found to help the interactions between teacher-child and child-child stimulate the mathematical thinking of the children and induce changes. The mathematical process-focused instruction aimed to advance mathematical thinking internalized mathematical knowledge, presented an integrated problematic situation, and empathized the mathematical process, which enabled the children to solve the problem by working together with peers. As such, the mathematical thinking of the children was integrated and developed within the process of a positive change in the mathematical attitude in which mathematical knowledge is internalized through mathematical process.

This study is case study. The purpose of this study is to analysis 'the project of market' connected with ESD in early childhood education and to examine children's meaningful experiences during the process. This study was carried out in the kindergarten in K city, Chunng-Nam. 5-year children of 2 classes were participated. The results of this study concluded as follows: 'The project of market' showed the possibilities of ESD through reconstructing the existing curriculum. In every stage of the project, skills of ESD were included and developed. This project reflected the key concepts of social, environmental, economic areas. This project resulted by integrated curriculum, participatory engagement, multiple instructional methods.
The society changes very fast from the extended family system to the nuclear family system, as increasing a one-child family for the low birth-rate. Thus, it causes that the education, having been performed inside of the family group, is performed outside of the family nowadays such as an infant educational institution. Fundamentally, the space of educating infants must be considered their behavior and meet their needs. For infants, playing is not only studying, but also is related to physical, intellectual and emotional development. Therefore infants in a qualifiedly good playing environment, are easy to focus on their playing. But, variety of playing activities can help improve infants' development physically, socially, emotionally, linguistically and intellectually. So far, an infant educational institution has provided a general education than a special educationally considering their age and status of a development. However, it is necessary to provide an integrated and well-organized place for each infant because their playing is a studying and education that will be based of individuals' character when they are grown up. The objective of this thesis is to study on the new transition space for infants of their physical activities. For this study, at first, it is important to understand what are the points of well-built kindergarten around the world. They have the flexible space in common. The transition(flexible) space will be a solution for space for infants' development.
The purpose of this study was to develop a media literacy program for young children and explore its applicability and effects on young children's media literacy learning. Media literacy, as a concept combined literacy, or the ability to read and write, with media, is about more than just consuming information or understanding technological aspects of media, but is defined as expanded information and communication skills that are responsive to the changing nature of information in human environment. In order to develop media literacy program for young children, the goal and objectives, content areas, teaching methods and materials, and evaluation of media literacy program were searched and established. The subjects of this study consisted of a total of 51 children at age 5-6. The research had been implemented for 8 weeks integrated into daily activities of kindergarten children. Data were collected by interviewing with children using animations, and children-made-cartoons during the pre- and post-tests, and were analyzed quantitatively using rating criteria. The results of this study showed that there were significant differences found in children's abilities to reception, critical thinking, and creativity. This research made a major contribution to provision of a ground for developing an effective media literacy program for young children.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of participatory design workshops conducted to design forest play spaces that reflect young children's needs and demands on the development of spatial concepts in young children. As a research method for this purpose, we used the participatory design workshop (6 times) and Landscape Montage Techniques (LMT). We conducted this study at the "Songsan-mulbit Forest Experience Center for children (FECC)" located in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, from the second week of May to third week of June 2018 for preschoolers in K-kindergarten (six and seven-year-old integrated classes; 41 preschoolers in total). We conducted the LMT evaluation on the same preschoolers before and after the workshop, and the drawings of 39 preschoolers drawn for LMT evaluation before and after the workshop were subject to the final evaluation. As a result of the study, the cognitive levels for the spatial concept after the workshop are higher than those for the spatial concept before the workshop, especially showed the result of comparing the LMT values of 6 age and 7 age, there were significant differences on pre and post workshop in p<0.01.
This study is aimed at investigating the compensatory education which was already implemented or is being implemented in the U.S.A. and Japan; and at studying the types of programs and their characteristics; and at sounding out the possibilities of the application of such programs in family and social conditions is Korea. In order to achieve the above mentioned objectives, the established items for the study are as follows: (1) Various types of early children's education (2) Programs of compensatory education for the disadvantaged Children (3) Head Start Program, Early Training Project and Montessori School (4) Integrated Preschool Programs (5) Day-Care Center for employed mothers We investigated the various compensatory education programs for the preschool children who are in economically, socially, culturally disadvantaged conditions. Head Start Programs were federally supported programs for preschool children and opened as summer programs in 1965 for the first time. The purpose of Head Start has been to give preschool children the kinds of experiences they need in preparation for school. The Head Start children were found to be significantly better prepared for school than the normal children. However, after six to eight months, their initial advantages had virtually. disappeared and then the simple problem with Head Start and other such programs was that little long-term good could be evidenced unless the high quality educational environment was maintained. Therefore, to solve this problem, three other programs were funded as part of the overall Head Start. These three programs are the Parent-Child Center, Home Start, and the Child and Family Resources Program. The Early Training Project for disadvantaged children was implemented by Klaus and Gray of Peabody College in 1962. The program was a field research study concerned with the development and testing over time of procedures for improving the educability of young children from low income homes. Its major concern was to study whether it was possible to offset the progressive retardation observed in the public schooling careers of children, living in deprived circumstances. Children, who were trained through the Early Training Project were superior to control groups in the test of IQ and vocabulary as well as linguistic abilities, and preparation for reading. This project showed the possibilities which could prevent preschool children from being disadvantaged socially, culturally and mentally. In 1907, Montessori School was established by Maria Montessori in Italy and her school program has been introduced at present to several countries in the world as one compensatory educations. She first began her experimental methods with retarded children, followed by disadvantaged children from the tenements of Rome. The Montessori approach futures a prepared environment and carefully designed, self-correcting materials. The Montessori curriculum presents tastes that feature sequence, order, and regularity, in addition to those that develop motor and sensory skills. She was interested in children's intellectual development and in developing good work habits. One of the latest developed programs for disadvantaged children is "Integrated Preschool Program" which has successfully integrated handicapped and nonhandicapped children. Several studies have showed that handicapped children in integrated school environments are accepted by and interact with their nonhandicapped peers. In fact, this program provides a number of potential, and perhaps opportunities for nonhandicapped children to serve as valuable resources in fostering the development of their handicapped peers. Next we turn to Japanese programs which are divided into two different types. One is Day-Care Center which was established by Child Welfare Law and the other is kindergarten organized by School Education Law. The kindergarten opened in 1876 and it has been part of school systems since 1947 by the implementation of education law, and the Day-Care Center which started in 1890 for the employed mothers. was changed into Day-Nursery by the enactment of child welfare law in 1947. The laws and operational regulations for the Day-Nursery were set up and were put in effect by the establishment standard acts of children welfare facilities, and the Day-Nursery has been operated in various types by the increasing demand, chiefly because of the socio-economical changes of family structures in both urban and suburban areas. Nursery education for physically and mentally disadvantaged children is for those who are blind, deaf and dumb, mentally retarded; physically disadvantaged by accidents or diseases. Montessori education in Japan was started in 1968 and many research groups for studying Montessori were organized. In 1977, Montessori remedial education society was also organized in which they started a number of studies; a study for developing materials; in-service training for the remedial education; and seminars and lectures, etc It is strongly suggested that we study the early educations that are being implemented in Japan and a variety of compensatory educations that were already implemented in the U.S.A. and modify them for the organization of our own model and properly accommodate them to our social needs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of integrated education research conducted in Korea and to propose a meaningful discussion for further research. Among the studies conducted for last three years, the relevant 161 research articles were selected, and 236 effect sizes were calculated. Effect sizes were analyzed with different dependant variables including creativity, problem solving ability, academic achievement, inquiry skills, creative personality, scientific attitude, and interests. In addition, effect sizes with different moderating variables, such as characteristics of subjects, sample sizes, class types, core disciplines and publication types, were compared. The results are as follows: The overall effect size of integrated education program produced a huge effect (effect size=0.88, U3=81.06%). Integrated education program showed the highest effect size on scientific attitude among other dependant variables. However, all of the other dependant variables represented more than medium size effect size. Integrated program proved to be more effective on kindergarten pupils and gifted students compared to other school levels and regular students. The effect size for group of less then thirty students were larger than other groups. Programs implemented in after school hours were more effective than in regular school hours. Considering the core subject of program, arts-centered integrated programs showed the largest effect size, while all the others showed above medium effect sizes. Finally, doctoral dissertation showed the highest effect size compared to master's thesis and academic journal articles. Conclusions and recommendations for further research were provided.

The aim of this study is to find out how the mathematics activities linked to outdoor movement activities affect children's motor abilities. S kindergarten located in Gyeonggido do conducted a fifteen week program for young children aged five years. In this study, young children's motor perfromenace test scale of Ji Sungae(2007) was conducted. Each area consists of a five-point scale. There were a total of thirty-three questions. pre-tests and post-tests were performed for young children's motor performance. t-test was used. As a result of this study, it was found that mathematics activities in connection with outdoor movement activities had a positive effect on the improvement of overall exercise ability, non-movement exercise ability, and mobility exercise ability of young children. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that various programs for young children integrated with outdoor motor activities will be developed and applied to the site.

In Korea, the number of foreigners reached about 1,260,000. So we are now living in a multicultural society. There are more than 36,000 multicultural students in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school(2010's standards). In other words, Still more multicultural students are expected to increase in the future. As a matter of fact, one of the biggest problems which mixed couples and immigrants from other countries have had is most concerned about possible bias and discrimination of their children. Study has shown that multicultural students are alienated from the others at school, because of their skin colours, the pronunciation they speak Korean, and maladjustment in their school life. Actually, multi-cultural education program should be applied to the first grade in elementary school. Besides, teachers have to direct multicultural and general students with integrated education. Study also found that it is necessary to use more visuals and pictures as the main multi-cultural education. And books and CDs should be used as guide materials. It's desirable that the appropriate time to teach relate to lesson.
