  • The multilateral attempt for present applications of art school of thought and expression is leading modern fashion as a chapter of various artistic expression. In fashion, historic art thinking which predominated the period are source of optional inspiration not simply being generated, culminated and disappear but layout principles which can reemerge as periodical needs. In other words, the past styles are the source of inspiration of new trend of the present time and will serve as the text that give birth to yet another trend. In this study, I conducted the research on the layout principles of Modernism Architecture in aspects of pure visibility and the layout characteristics. And I analyzed cases of modern fashion which were appling architectural layout principles in the view point of formal construction dimension. As the result, the layout principles of Modernism Architecture have the characteristics of diagram linearity, geometric planarity and exclusive closing. And I was applying the architectural layout principles of Modernism to fashion. The layout principles of Modernism Architecture have the tendency of lacking history types, abstract plane partition and reductionism purity in fashion. The meaning of this study is follows: The characteristics of art school of thought are given shape by appling & analysing the architectural layout principles of historical art school of thought to modern fashion in the view point of formal construction dimension. The applied possibility of historical art school of thought as the source of inspiration about the fashion design is extended.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how much the movement at X-ray examinations like breathing or the positioning affects the image during chest or abdomen X-ray examination so as to create an image containing information as much as possible. The study method adopted is doing the X-ray in each of the states including breathing (inspiration & expiration) and movement in the standing chest PA X-ray and simple abdomen X-ray among the kinds of examination selected the most in hospitals and then evaluating them by applying the standards of image evaluation for each region. According to the study result, about the standing chest PA X-ray, the images taken at inspiration contain more information than those taken at expiration or having subtle movement during the examination. About the simple abdomen X-ray, the images taken at expiration contain more information than those taken at inspiration or movement. The above study results imply that regarding general X-ray examination, information we can find from the images may differ significantly according to the region examined, examination purpose, or movement during the examination like breathing.

  • The purpose of this research is to bring to the center of focus, the ad creativity, which in turn can generate the highest advertising effects. The study excludes external factors such as personal relationships, academic network and lobbying powers which were prevalent in the Korean situation. A transformational leader can influence charisma, inspiration, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration and performance goal. As the result of this study shows, the core competence that a C.D. may always want to possess at present as well as in the future is to "motivate inspiration". Charisma may be an ability currently in need but this may not necessarily be so in the future. It may be predicted that a softer quality, which is knowledge-based, that provides intellectual stimulation may be a more valued characteristic. It has been suggested that in the increasingly diversifying society of the future, charisma may be a barrier to enhancing creativity. In times of uncertainty and ambiguity, innovative ideas bring economic rewards (Cockayne, 2004). There may be conflicts of views and opinions between individuals and organizations. Turning these into positive outcome to produce innovative ideas, may be an area of further study. However, there must have been studies where informal networking has produced innovative ideas. Therefore, a transformational leader of an organization needs to investigate the dynamics of informal networking within his team.

  • Objective: Emphysema and small-airway disease are the two major components of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We propose a novel method of quantitative computed tomography (CT) emphysema air-trapping composite (EAtC) mapping to assess each COPD component. We analyzed the potential use of this method for assessing lung function in patients with COPD. Materials and Methods: A total of 584 patients with COPD underwent inspiration and expiration CTs. Using pairwise analysis of inspiration and expiration CTs with non-rigid registration, EAtC mapping classified lung parenchyma into three areas: Normal, functional air trapping (fAT), and emphysema (Emph). We defined fAT as the area with a density change of less than 60 Hounsfield units (HU) between inspiration and expiration CTs among areas with a density less than -856 HU on inspiration CT. The volume fraction of each area was compared with clinical parameters and pulmonary function tests (PFTs). The results were compared with those of parametric response mapping (PRM) analysis. Results: The relative volumes of the EAtC classes differed according to the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease stages (p < 0.001). Each class showed moderate correlations with forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) and FEV1/forced vital capacity (FVC) (r = -0.659-0.674, p < 0.001). Both fAT and Emph were significant predictors of FEV1 and FEV1/FVC (R2 = 0.352 and 0.488, respectively; p < 0.001). fAT was a significant predictor of mean forced expiratory flow between 25% and 75% and residual volume/total vital capacity (R2 = 0.264 and 0.233, respectively; p < 0.001), while Emph and age were significant predictors of carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (R2 = 0.303; p < 0.001). fAT showed better correlations with PFTs than with small-airway disease on PRM. Conclusion: The proposed quantitative CT EAtC mapping provides comprehensive lung functional information on each disease component of COPD, which may serve as an imaging biomarker of lung function.

  • This paper seeks to build on previous work conducted by Porter, Devol, Florida, Bahrami and Evans, Wennberg and Lindqvist, and others contained in the literature, to construct a new way of looking at innovation cluster development. It seeks to describe the key elements contained in the research that serve as building blocks for innovation clustering, adding analysis dimensions that aim to further illuminate understanding of this process. It compares those building block characteristics to the innovation topography of U.S. urban centers, to shed light on a new framework through which urban innovation cluster formation can be considered. It identifies three building block analysis categories: 1) Technological Capability and Capacity (TCC); 2) Intellectual Propulsion Capacity (IPC); and 3) Structural Creative Inspiration (SCI). These three pillars form the architecture for creation of a Strategic Innovation Network (SIN), upon which clustering can be systematically analysed and built. The purpose of the SIN is to optimally organize and connect all available resources that include physical, financial, and human, such that innovation clustering is inspired, encouraged, nurtured, and ultimately constructed as fully functioning socio-economic organisms that provide both local and regional benefits. It is designed to aid both private enterprise and public policy leaders in their strategic planning considerations, and to enhance urban economic development opportunities.

  • There is often confliction between conservation for protected ecosystem assets and development for various stakeholders at wetland protection areas. The concept of Ecosystem Services can be an alternative solution for the conflicts. This paper attempted to measure and evaluate cultural ecosystem services according to the index evaluation approach. For the evaluation, the paper suggested five indicators of ecosystem cultural services including: inspiration, landscape aesthetics, education, eco-tourism, and heritage. The developed indices of cultural services in this study can be also utilized as a policy support tool for conservation of the wetland protected areas. The result illustrates the ranking and correlation of each indicator of ecosystem cultural services and suggestions for useful means of management policy in wetland protected areas.

  • The objective of this Paper was to identify the internal and external symbols of Punks, and to assess the significance of punk style giving an inspiration to many high fashion designers. For this objective. comprehension on widely discussed idea of punk, furthermore grasping the internal and external form by inquiring historically punk look, and importantly looking into new ideas pursued by punk fashion by studying traits of punk image in 1980's and after are done. Punk in the latter half of the 70's was anti-fashion expressed for the young of working class to rebel against the established generation. At first some of the fashion was popularized by the young who imitated pop stars under the specific economy of Britain, and others with movement of hippie Punk is aesthetics extremism which neglects traditionalism in the past but pursues newness. It denied traditional way of expression and principles of aesthetics but created newness. Punk look was symbolized as poor look. grotesque, androgynous, black, graffiti, and bricolage. And the internal meanings of these symbols are ego-screaming, expression of nihilism, resistance, irony and ridicule, search for hedonism. The punk phenomenon continues today. Some teens still cling to the complete look. whether they have punks' idea and value or not. Diverse elements of punk style play a major role in the current trend of fashion and a source of the fresh inspiration for the high fashion designers. Punk style is truly the story of a fad that turned to fashion.

  • The paper-folding effect of origami signifies a planarization of the body which questions the three dimensional construction of the body in a more conventional clothing system. Un-structured, variable space posited between the body and clothes, and an absence of gender identification characterizes the planarization of the body. Origami inspiration in fashion stresses a will-to-form rather than mere bodily proportion and structure, which explores a trans-extensity that goes beyond the boundary of the body. This study inquires on the influence of origami as a method to create new vestmental space in contemporary fashion. The flat-plane clothes of origami-inspired design are no longer cut to the body and the clothes could be altered by the wearer. The space is introduced in between a three-dimensional dress-body and the body. Origami-inspired design in Japanese avant-garde fashion deconstructs the convention and promotes a symbiosis of body and clothing instead. The shape of the body is completely estranged by three-dimensional sculptures, alluding to the paper folds of origami and the movement of the body that are transmitted to the clothing through fine folding that transform into an unexpected event.

  • This study was done for the purpose of graphing rather improved technique through reviewing conventional technigue of the thoracic vertebrae lateral projection. The roentgenographic images which were taken at Korea University Hospital from January, 1976 to December, 1977 were observed for this study. The results were as belows: 1. The quality of diagnostic radiograph turned out that good is 21.4%, intermediate is 40.7% and poor is 37.9%. 2. The poor quality of images the caused by overlapping shadows(59.6%), incorrect position of patients(15.0%), motion of patients(7.5%), over-exposure(8.3%), under-exposure(6.7%) and processing faults(2.9%). The images were taken by following four methods of experiments were campared and researched in order to improve the problems of conventional technigues which were came out on the poor radiographes. 1. (Method 1) Low mA-long time exposure during normal respiration 2. (Method 2) Short time exposure during normal respiration 3. (Method 3) After deep inspiration, short time exposure during expiration 4. (Method 4) After full expiration, short time exposure during inspiration. In a result of the above experiments, it was found that the improved image could be got from the method 3.
