A Vision System for the Inspection of Shaft Worm (비전 시스템을 이용한 샤프트 웜 외관검사기 개발)

  • This paper is about vision system that exhibits automatic examination of the conditions of shaft's worm. The system is composed of three part : image acquisition, vision algorithm, and user interface. The image acquisition part is composed of motor control, illumination and optics. The vision algorithm examines the parts by labeling algorithm using shaft image. User interface is divided into two parts, user interface for feature registering with control value settings and user interface for examination operation. The automatic inspection system of this research is a tool for final examination of shaft worm. This tool can be practically used in production lines with simple adjustments.

  • An automobile hub is composed of a hollow cylindrical part with inner and outer diameters. These hub diameters must be precise, as any irregularities in them (diameters) can influence/degrade the motion of an automobile with this problem. Highly accurate and reliable hub inner and outer diameters measurement systems are therefore required for inspection of the diameters. In this research, an automobile hub inner and outer diameters measurement system has been developed and tested. The system consists of measuring heads with LVDT sensors, and associated software for automatic measurement and calibration of the diameters and the sensors respectively. The system has been evaluated in comparison with an existing measurement system, and the following outcomes have been achieved; .Improved and guaranteed quality and reliability .Increased productivity and cost reduction. These results prove the system developed in this research to be suitable for automobile hub inspection.

Developed system to smallest 1pixel unit though measuring is possible 1pixel as 3.7$\mu\textrm{m}$${\times}$3.7$\mu\textrm{m}$(0.1369${\times}$10/sub-1/$\textrm{mm}^2$) the accuracy to 10/sub-1/mm minutely measuring is possible performance verification and trust ability through an experiment prove.

  • In order to minimize turnaround of machining in FMS lines, CAD/CAM/CAT integrated system called MascCAM was developed. Developing enhanced CAM and inspection modules in the MascCAM environment, 2D came, 2 $^{1}$2/ D prismatic parts and 3D free-formed surfaces were able to be automatically designed, manufactured and inspected on the machine tools by using AutoCAM and Z-map. Introducing Z-map technique, the MascCAM was able to be interfaceed with and CAD system. Developed QPPGT module generates a quick and fool-proof inspection work to users. A vertical and a horizontal machining center equipped with FANUC OMC were used for experiments. Performance of the system was confirmed by a large amount of experiments.

  • The cylindrical object such as a water pipe or an oil pipeline are widely used in the infrastructure. Those pipes should be inspected periodically by human or a robot. However, since there is no edge or vertex in the pipe, it is very difficult for the robot to navigate along the pipe. In this paper in order to guide the robot along the axis of the pipe, an algorithm which find the axis using the measured range data from the robot to the pipe wall is developed The algorithm is verified using both the simulated range data and the measured one.

  • A coupled recursive total least squares (CRTLS) algorithm is proposed for parameter estimation of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs). TLS considers the errors of both input variables and output ones, and thus achieves more accurate estimates than standard least squares method does. The proposed algorithm consists of two recursive total least squares (RTLS) algorithms for the d-axis subsystem and q-axis subsystem respectively. The incremental singular value decomposition (SVD) for the RTLS obtained by an approximate calculation with less computation. The performance of the CRTLS is demonstrated by simulation and experimental results.

  • This paper is to enable electrical safety manager to have more objective evaluation on the safety by indicating quantitative values such as life-time and status quotient of daily visual inspection on private electrical equipments. Self-diagnosis table is recommended to apply such a evaluation efficiently according to the characteristics of each electrical equipments, and the managers's determination of the precise inspection, replacement etc. will be also possible through the standard selected by various domestic and foreign data with expert's advise for numerical evaluation. This circumstance will be able to establish the foundation to secure the soundness of electrical equipments.

  • The cyclic production lines have the first machines starved and the last machine blocked due to the lack or the excess of empty pallets in the feedback buffer. A workpiece in the cyclic production lines is transported on a pallet, and the total sum of pallets in the system does not changed during the system operation time. Therefore, the production rate of the cyclic production lines are dependent on the total number of pallets in the system. In this paper, we suggest the performance analysis method for the cyclic production lines with inspection machines and the optimal total number of pallets in the system that maximizes the production rate of the system. Finally, we validate the suggested methods by simulations.

  • This paper presents a new approach to modify the traditional method for sampling inspectionby variables to suit undesired measurement conditions. On the basis of a systematic analysis of the effects of measurement errors on different types of acceptance schemes this paper gives two modified equations for revising the sampling size η and the acceptability constant $textsc{k}$ to form a new acceptance scheme (η'$textsc{k}$) under undesired measurement conditions. It has proved that the new method is suitable to different types of sampling inspection by variables including that for mean value and that for percent defective. The new acceptance scheme based on the proposed technique provides an engineering feasibility to replace the traditional scheme to suit undesired measurement conditions.
