Implementation of the Hand-motion Recognition based Auxiliary Input Device using Gyro Sensor (자이로센서를 이용한 손 동작 인식형 보조 입력장치 구현)

  • In this paper, we have designed the auxiliary input device which based on hand-motion recognition. It is aimed at some individually specified person such as the disabled, rehabilitation patient, and the aged. The gyro sensor is used to recognize the hand-motion in 3D space, and communication bandwidth for transceiver is also set to the 2.4GHz. Prototype board includes a set of modules; Gyro sensor, RF transmitter/receiver, MCU for signal processing and USB connector etc. Some experiments are conducted so as to verify the prototype, and as a result, mouse-based curser motion as well as program control are well operated just same as the design specification.

A Study on the Optimization of color in Digital Printing (디지털 인쇄에 있어서 컬러의 최적화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, an experiment was done where the input(scanner, digital still camera) and monitor(CRT, LCD) device used the linear multiple regression and the GOG (Gain-Offset-Gamma) characterization model to perform a color transformation. Also to color conversion method of the digital printer it used the LUT(Look Up Table), 3dimension linear interpolation and a tetrahedron interpolation method. The results are as follows. From color reappearance of digital printing case of monitor, the XYZ which it converts in linear multiple regression of input device it multiplied the inverse matrix, and then it applies the inverse GOG model and after color converting the patch of the result most which showed color difference below 5 at monitor RGB value. Also, The XYZ which is transmitted from the case input device which is a printer it makes at LAB value to convert an extreme, when the LAB value which is converted calculating the CMY with the LUT and tetrahedral interpolations the color conversion which considers the black quantity was more accurate.

  • With the increasing use of smart electronic devices, the size of the related I/O interface market is increasing rapidly. Demand is also growing for the continuous increase of data and video signals-such as faster data processing speed and data storage capacity-in the smart electronic device input/output interface market. Currently, the POF hybrid cable used in the smart electronic device input / output interface market cannot transmit over a long distance because the optical loss is too large, and the GOF hybrid cable is both vulnerable to bending and other sudden outside changes, and expensive. Therefore, in this study, the design and fabrication of a GOF hybrid cable and fiber guide were carried out in order to develop a cable which can easily withstand external impact, has low optical losses, and meets the demand for continuous data and video signal increase in the smart electronic device input / output interface market.

  • This paper proposes both a novel tactile human-computer interface method and an improved algorithm for the wearable PC. Under the condition of Ubiquitous computing, the next generation PC aims at effective representation and integration of colors, brightness of light. sound, odor, taste and feelings. Also, it aims at human being centered man-machine interface. In spite of various functions of the wearable PC, for the convenience of possessing, hardware platform for the wearable PC should be small-sized and light weighted one. The main problems of making small sized PC are user interfaces, like keyboard, monitor and so on. The traditional user interfaces have critical limitations for reducing their size. In this paper, we propose a novel user input method and improved algorithm to constructing small sized, light weighted and wearable PC. And, we verify the effectiveness of suggested method and algorithm compared to the traditional algorithm.

  • With the increase in the use of mobile banking service, mobile banking has become an attractive target to attackers. Even though many security measures are applied to the current mobile banking service, some threats such as physical theft or penetration to a mobile device from remote side are still remained as unsolved. With aiming to fill this void, we propose a novel approach to prevent e-financial incidents by analyzing mobile device user's input patterns. This approach helps us to distinguish between original user's usage and attacker's usage through analyzing personal input patterns such as input time-interval, finger pressure level on the touch screen. Our proposed method shows high accuracy, and is effective to prevent the e-finance incidents proactively.

  • The local information processing devices are devices that process information by converting voltage, current, and digital electric signals from legacy-type power facility into IEC 61850 based data. It acquires and processes the operation information of legacy-type power facility, performs control of power facility, and interlock function using internal logic. In particular, the time to convert data to process input and output information for a device is important because a number of protection relay input and output signals are handled by only one device. This paper introduces test methods and cases for measuring IEC 61850 communication function and input/output data conversion time of local information processing device.

  • MOV(Metal Oxide Varistor) is the most important part of SPD(Surge Protective Device) which can protect electric facilities from an impulse current such as a lightning. So far, the fault of MOVs have decided only by surge count without considering magnitude of surge current and an amount of input energy. This paper proposed the fault prediction algorithm for the MOV using look up table made by surge count and input current data which have non-linear characteristics for input current and are estimated by high voltage experimental results. Proposed algorithm was proved by experiment on verification at a high voltage laboratory.

  • This paper proposed a boost input type single stage resonant power supply for driving magnetron device. The proposed power supply can control both input power factor and output power at the same time. Also, because ZVS is achieved using the resonance between leakage inductance and resonant capacitance, switching losses are drastically reduced. To prevent breakdown or moding phenomenon of the magnetron due to excessive starting voltage, variable frequency ignition method is also proposed. Experimental results for the prototype power supply are presented and discussed to verify the validity of the proposed power supply.

  • Remote Cask Grappling and Lid Unbolting Device (RCGLUD) is developed as a dedicated device capable of performing complete procedure of handling nuclear spent fuel transport cask. Since RCGLUD is suspended to an overhead crane, its body should undergo prolonged vibration upon actuation in rotational direction and it becomes difficult to achieve precise grappling of the cask. Therefore, this paper presents an adaptation of input shaping technique to effectively suppress the rotational vibration of RCGLUD and achieve precise positioning in rotational direction. This technique has a practical merit in that it requires only the information on the system natural frequency and the damping ratio. Its performance is verified by both simulation and experimental studies, and revealed that the method is also insensitive to modeling error.

  • This paper presents the new linear motion device so called "inch-worm" which gets large displacement by incrementally summing small displacements of PZT actuators. Dynamics stiffness of inch-worm is generally low compared to its driving condition due to the requirement of inch-worm like small size and light weight. This low stiffness may degenerate the positional precision of inch-worm. An inch-worm is realized using three PZT actuators, a monolithic moving device and a guide way frame. Driving input signal is shaped to reduce the residual vibration of inch-worm by LQG controller and cycloid step input. The practical feasibility of inch-worm is also examined by running test.ning test.
