  • The modelling approach in the case of connections in precast buildings is specific. The assembly of the constitutive parts of the connection requires the inclusion of contact definitions in the model. In addition, the material non-linearity including the influence of the spatial stress distribution should be taken into account where appropriate. Here a complex model of a beam-to-column dowel connection is presented. Experiments on the analysed connection were performed within the framework of the European project SAFECAST (Performance of Innovative Mechanical Connections in Precast Building Structures under Seismic Conditions). Several material and interaction parameters were investigated and the influence of each of them was evaluated. The set of parameters which gave the best match with the experiments was chosen.

  • This paper deals with the problem of global stabilization for a class of nonlinear control systems. An effective approach is proposed for controlling the system interaction of structures through a combination of parallel distributed compensation (PDC) intelligent controllers and fuzzy observers. An efficient approximate inference algorithm using expectation propagation and a Bayesian additive model is developed which allows us to predict the total number of control systems, thereby contributing to a more adaptive trajectory for the closed-loop system and that of its corresponding model. The closed-loop fuzzy system can be made as close as desired, so that the behavior of the closed-loop system can be rigorously predicted by establishing that of the closed-loop fuzzy system.

  • Flutter wind-tunnel test is an expensive and complicated process. Also, the test model may has discrepancy in the structural characteristics when compared to those of the real model. "Dry Wind-Tunnel" (DWT) is an innovative testing system which consists of the ground vibration test (GVT) hardware system and software which computationally can be operated and feedback in real-time to yield rapidly the unsteady aerodynamic forces. In this paper, we study on the aerodynamic forces of DWT system to feedback in time domain. The aerodynamic forces in the reduced-frequency domain are approximated by Minimum-state approximation. And we present a state-space equation of the aerodynamic forces. With the two simulation model, we compare the results of the flutter analysis.

  • A vertical bulb turbine unit with elbow type draft tube has been developed due to avoidance of complicated assembling and long standstill period at overhaul in comparison with conventional horizontal bulb turbine unit. Before designing the prototype vertical bulb unit, a hydrographic model test was carried out to establish the ideal design concept for this innovative generating unit. Froude similarity is not available for vortex occurrence. Consequently, an intake structure without air entraining vortices under all the flow conditions is developed, and it is confirmed that the surge wave at load rejection is not affected harmful influence for other constructions.

  • This study investigates the determinants of output of a manufacturing firm's innovative activity (the number of patent applications) and spillover effects using a count data model. This paper attempted a negative binomial distribution In order to take into account unobserved heterogeneity. The results of our study suggested that Firm size, R&D intensity, technical network activity, and online business performance have significantly positive effects in the Korean manufacturing industry. Moreover, there are significantly positive spillover effects in the same industry sector.

  • In this paper a different formulation for the response of structural systems controlled by Tuned Liquid Column Damper (TLCD) devices is developed, based on the mathematical tool of fractional calculus. Although the increasing use of these devices for structural vibration control, it has been demonstrated that existing model may lead to inaccurate prediction of liquid motion, thus reflecting in a possible imprecise description of the structural response. For this reason the recently proposed fractional formulation introduced to model liquid displacements in TLCD devices, is here extended to deal with TLCD controlled structures under base excitations. As demonstrated through an extensive experimental analysis, the proposed model can accurately capture structural responses both in time and in frequency domain. Further, the proposed fractional formulation is linear, hence making identification of the involved parameters extremely easier.

  • A fundamental concepts of business environment changes and the importance of stakeholder's value creation is changing in the business. This study ISO9004: 2009 quality management system of Category 5: Strategy and Policy, Category 10: improvement, innovation and learning (Note) SBK target was to develop a model that is the company's sustained success. Three concepts of the new revision of ISO9004" in response to environmental changes," "learning", "innovation" (Note) SBK applied to the project settings and talent establish long-term vision was to establish the process as the organization's learning content was TDR for the creation of exceptional and innovative programs were introduced. As a result, (Note) SBK three years of continuous business performance indicator has grown dramatically to more than 50% continued success is going to create business models. But 100 years to accomplish the vision, ISO9004 model needs to extends the entire category as a management system to achieve the optimization needed.

  • Variable displacement vane-type oil pumps represent one of the most innovative pump types for industrial applications, especially for engine lubrication systems. This paper deals with a modeling method for theoretical flow rate investigation of a typical variable displacement vane-type oil pump. This theoretical model is based on the pump geometric design and dynamic analyses. It can be considered as mandatory steps for a deeper understanding of the pump operation as well as for effectively implementing the pump control mechanisms to satisfy the urgent demands of engine lubrication systems. The developed pump model is finally illustrated by numerical simulations.

  • One of the important components of this administrative reform is customer satisfaction. Every public enterprises introduced the Service Charter and Korean government took Customer satisfaction as the key index of public sector performance assessment. Most public enterprises introduced customer satisfaction management in an attempt to improve the quality of customer service. The government granted high incentives to excellent business innovative enterprises and developed additional indices, which are related to CS. From now on, every Korean enterprises must embody feasible customer satisfaction management and improve the quality of customer service In this research, we proposed a quality evaluation standard model which is suitable for the public enterprise based on the Service Quality Criteria, and examined the model. A 7-Point Likert Scale was used based on the five categories within the Service Quality: responsiveness, convenience, tangibility, sympathy and reliability, we analysed the validity and causal relationship among the factors within the model.

  • This paper proposes the integration of photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems for sustained power generation. In this proposed system, whenever the PV system cannot completely meet load demands, the super capacitor provides power to meet the remaining load. A power management strategy is designed for the proposed system to manage power flows between PV array systems and supercapacitors (SC). The main task of this study was to design PV systems with storage strategies including MPPT with direct control and an advanced DC-link controller and to analyze dynamic model proposed for a PV-SC hybrid power generation system. In this paper, the simulation models for the hybrid energy system are developed using Matlab/Simulink, SimPowerSystems and Matlab/Stateflow tool. This is the key innovative contribution of the research paper. The system performances are verified by carrying out simulation studies using practical load demand profile and real weather data.
